We enjoyed our visit, the weather didn't cooperate but, we had a good time anyway!!! We stayed in and had a wonderful meal at the hotel restaurant. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful.

EVERYONE at this hotel made us feel welcome and took care of everything we needed during the week we were there. Great job by all!. Anything lacking in the room, which wasn't bad but was a bit small, was more than made up for by the genuine kindness of the hotel staff. Upon arriving, the bellhop quickly noted that a light bulb in our room was out and […] immediately phoned someone who arrived in a minute or two to fix it. The beds were comfy, the in room coffee was Starbucks and everything was clean and in order. Everyone, including the valet, concierge, front desk staff and waiters was pleasant and helpful. It didn't hurt that his hotel is at a perfect location which made our week long stay so much better. Starbucks in the lobby, 14K Restaurant downstairs were both great. Only possible complaint was the high charge for valet parking, around 45/night however, the convenience was well worth it to us because the nearby public parking garages only seemed to be open at certain times/days making your car unavailable at times of the night or on the weekend. A very good hotel. 1 block from Metro Station making it convenient to all attractions. For those who like to walk only 5 blocks from White House. Close to some excellent restaurants. From check-in to check-out everything was made easy. Very pet friendly with park directly across the street for ease of walking dogs.

We were 5 very easy blocks to the White House and the National Mall, also all the tour buses, etc. The walking distance was through streets with a huge assortment of restaurants, bars, and several parks along the way. The hotel has a great happy hour every evening (except Sunday) from 4-7with reasonable appetizers ($5-$0) that were excellent. We basically […] did that for dinner several nights since we had lunch out. Breakfast is not included and that is a bit pricey, the only down side, but there are plenty of alternatives within a block or two so that shouldn't deter you. There is a Starbucks next door too. I found the hotel staff to be really, really friendly and accommodating. This is absolutely where I will go my next trip to DC (and you need more than one trip - so much to see!). Enjoyed my stay at the Crowne Plaza. Used the hotel for my birthday and was very close to where I went out to for the night. Was easy to find for all my friends who needed directions

I must say, although the hotel was clean and the staff were very courteous, the neighborhood surrounding was somewhat questionable with many homeless people living in the neighboring park and streets. I also feel that the hotel should have affered free WIFI ti their guests,,, that was quite a disappointment in this day and age. Most places I stay do […] offer free internet connection to their guests as a courtesy. I was also surprised they charged a fee for parking in their lot. Read more

It is centrally located but I had I thought was an executive room and I found it to be small and the sink wasn't cleaned just wipes down and finally I saw a roach in the bathroom. I'll try somewhere else next time. The staff was nice though.

Very friendly and helpful service staff. Location is very convenient to DC conference centers and attractions. 14K restaurant/bar has excellent service, atmosphere and excellent food!

The Crown Plaza staff was great. Everyone was very helpful and gave my friend and I some great places to go eat, sight seeing tours, lounges, etc... When I come back to DC I will definitely stay here again. I gave the hotel excellent ratings because it is a great hotel. However, the elevators are so slow and stop on every floor. That's the only problem […] :-( I was on a low enough floor that we opted to take the stairs. Other than that everything was GREAT! Read more

stayed 4 nites with my kids and overall was a pretty good stay. drawbacks were i ended up in a room with 1 bed instead of 2 to accommodate me and 3 kids until i was switched on the 3rd nite. no amenities like sundry shop, room fridge or coffee maker. rooms were a bit smaller than i'm used to; but overall a pleasant stay, nothing major.

Very clean facility with a very attentive staff. We definitively stay at his hotel again.

This is great hotel for business travel. I was close to major places I needed to do business, Capitol Hill and surrounding places. Even conducted two meetings in the hotel itself. Great restruant in the hotel, where I had a breakfast meeting. Starbucks location at the bottom of the hotel, had a meeting there. Good value for the price. As a "historic hotel" it has some features that are a little long in the tooth but the staff is friendly and the property is convenient and the rooms larger than some more reccently built hotels.

I couldn't find the parking and then when I did they closed up at 5pm and I was stuck for another night before I could leave. While a nice hotel it really lacks clear direction from the website and being there. The hotel was willing to work with me on an extra night due to the parking issue.

The staff was very friendly and the loction was excellent. Very close to most all the attractions. I'd recommend it.

Great location, walking distance to White House, Mall and Smithsonians. Great restaurants nearby. Staff was very friendly, place was clean. Only downside? elevators had minor problems for a bit. BUt staff was all over it. I would highly recommend this place as a clean, central and affordable place to visit DC

The hotel is very well located, but the parking is almost $45 a night. There are several other parking decks around that offer parking for $16 a night, and they are just a short walk away. The staff doesn't seem to know the area that well either since we asked what was open after midnight, and they told us a McDonald's almost a mile away was, but on […] the way we found several other places. This hotel is very conveniently located close to nearly all of the major sights and landmarks of DC. Many attractions are within short walking distance. All forms of public transportation, including the Metro, are extremely close and accessible. The facilities are very nice and the staff are very courteous and accommodating. The neighborhood is relatively […] safe and vibrant with many pharmacies, restaurants and other convenient businesses nearby. We have stayed at The Hamilton twice in the past year during the Holiday season and enjoyed our overall stay on both occasions. However, our only complaint is that on both occasions the ambient noise outside our room was somewhat excessive, despite specifically requesting a "quiet" room location on this most recent stay. Unfortunately, whomever assigned our room thought that putting us ina room right next to the main elevators for the hotel was a good idea. I assure you it was not. As one might imagine, we could here the elevators working all night long through the walls of our room and the only saving grace was that after a long while, it became like a form of white noise that we were able to somewhat ignore. On our previous stay, we could here chatter and street noise from the night club that is located next door to the hotel and inconveniently, adjacent to our room window, even though we were on an upper floor. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel in light of all of its great features and the few shortcomings. However, if you require a quiet room, we recommend that you be very specific and particular in your request. Read more

Great starting point for sightseeing,not the best neighborhood in DC.Be aware of transients around hotel,in park across street,and at Mcpherson Metro station.Very nice,clean hotel just be careful walking around hotel after dark.

The hotel was nice but the valet staff were MIA. The room was cold, the hot water was non existent. I wasn't awaken by someone in the hallway sliding a receipt under the door at 3:00 am later the newspaper.........I was very dissappointed.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at the Crowne Plaza Hamilton. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, and we were able to walk to many popular destinations. Overall, we were very satisfied and would stay there again.

There were a few strange things abou tthe hotel. There was no fridge or microwave in the room, the ice machines were bascially non-existent, and there were no drawers in any of the dressers. It was nice, but strange. Also the wireless would randomly drop for no apparent reason.

Love, LOVE this place! It's near all the classy lounges and metro stations.

I visit DC often and have stayed in many hotels from VA to Georgetown. This is an EXCELLENT location convenient to trendy DC restaurants and clubs but also public trans to Georgetown area. Grand marble lobby, luxurious high end decor and pleasant attentive staff. Concierge was very knowledgeable... a plus for first time visitors. All was fine except that the elevators were not working properly. This resulted in long waits and was an inconvenience.

I stayed at this hotel last year ago and it was wonderful. I am stunned how a hotel can fall apart so quickly. Of the 4 elevators, 2 worked but only sporadically. We waited 20 minutes for the elevator and then it stopped on every floor. We walked the 11 flights of stairs several times but after a day of sightseeing, we were tired of walking. While my […] room was clean, it is very worn. However, the hallways are filthy with gum on the carpet, hairpins, bits of paper, dishes, etc. The parking is very expensive and it takes 20 minutes to retrieve your vehicle. When they returned my car, it was covered in bird droppings. I had just had my car washed/waxed and was furious at the condition. The staff was friendly but not helpful....they really could not fix anything but did a good job in listneing to the many many complaints from many guests. The location is great for tourist- close to the mall and White House and many good restuarants within a few blocks. Once (if) the hotel is renovated or a new cleaning crew is hired, the hotel will be great. Until then, stay away. Read more

This was my second time staying at this fabulous hotel. The hotel is a block from the metro and only a few blocks from the Whitehouse. I thought there was an error when I first stayed here, a hotel this nice and in downtown for such a reasonable price. The Hamilton makes someone on a budget feel like they are High Class. Only 2/5 elevators were working. the ones that were working were extremely slow, small and HOT. No air flow. The room was good except the ceiling could use some patching and paint. The tub was discusting and needed to be recaulked. Had black mold around the existing caulk.
