The design of the hotel was beautiful and the staff were very welcoming. The room was lovely and very nicely presented. i really enjoyed my stay and the pillow menu! i will definately be going again

Crowne Plaza... I like to stay in 'posh' hotels and this was one of the good ones. On arriving (11:45pm) a very helpful staff member made check-in very quick and easy. The room was spacious and luxurious. On par with some 5 star hotels I have frequented. The bed was big and comfortable- but here is me being picky.... the pillows were too big! i had […] neck ache the next day! The hotel did offer a choice of pilliows but i guess i was too tired to order one! my own fault! I am partial to a nice cup of peppermint tea and at 1am room service kindly brought me 2 bags to satisfay my palette! THE ONLY BAD THING... there was a random stain on the bathroom wall. After investigating... i think it was where someone had thrown out an old cup of coffee to be washed up and missed the sink. hmmmm..... sloppiness. But everything else was fantastic. Got an email the day before my trip informing me I had been double booked at the Crowne Plaza. Hotels.com asked if it would be OK to "upgrade" us to another hotel in the area. We were given the Radisson Blu in a Business Class room. I had stayed at the Crowne Plaza before and am a Priority Rewards member so lost my points on this occasion with ICH but […] the Radisson Blu was a nice treat. The hotel is a bit of an icon building in Birmingham and it was very modern, light and tasteful. The reception bar was not the most comfortable and relaxing space but we had a rather nice lunch there served by a not too attendant bar staff member. The room was comfortable, modern and being on the 16th floor had great views, albeit over council housing opposite the hotel.I'd have no hesitation staying here again or in recommending this hotel to anyone staying in Birmingham. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and advised on recommended restaurants, bars etc around the hotel and Broadstreet. House keeping make a LOT of noise around mid-morning. They woke us up banging around next door and in the hall ways. Don't expect a quiet lie-in the next morning. Breakfast buffet was very good, large selection of hot and cold […] food. Excellent. Staff were polite and courteous. When I was working in the lobby, a member of staff gave me a complimentary cup of coffee. This added, that extra special touch and has stuck in my mind. I will definately be using the Hotel again!

the hotel was excellent in every way the only issue i had with my stay was being charged 13.50 for parking which isn't stated anywhere

Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre is at the centre of town and close to all the nearest malls, and even the rail station

Hotel was good and well priced, room was comfortable. Didn't get 5 stars due to too few people on the front desk at peak times - I did mention this and it was resolved the next day...

This hotel was handy for all the shopping and evening entertainment/nightlife. Also within easy walk of New Street Station. The room was very clean and comfortable. Being a Saturday night, some other guests were coming in later than us, and were not too aware of how noisy they were being in the corridors in the early hours- so beware at weekends if […] you are a light sleeper or easily disturbed, or take earplugs for a really good night's sleep. We recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza as we were on a trip to see JLS in concert. The hotel was lovely and the Guest Service Assistant was very polite and took the time to make us feel welcome and talk. However, i was not impressed with the bar staff, who firstly made us wait and served other people who had come to the bar after us and also gave us […] incorrect drinks. We also asked the reception to arrange a taxi for us to take us to the LG Arena where we recieved the most awful drive with the taxi firm but this was complained too at reception who were kind enough to give me there number. Also, once back from our trip, we tried to get some room service (which was advised to be 24hr). After contacting reception twice, and being on the phone to the room service line for 20 mins, there was still no answer. When we contacted reception they advised there was only 1 chef and we would have to wait an hour or order a pizza outside the premises. I thought this was quite bad service. The hotel is very well maintained, lovely comfortable bed and spotless in terms of cleanliness. My one complaint would be the reception staff. I appreciate that people have to be trained, etc but the people we dealt with during our stay didn't seem to be able to get our booking right. Firstly we had to ask to change rooms as we were allocated the wrong […] room type. The room had been prepaid but the receptionist was demanding a credit card to take payment again until I told her in no uncertain terms the payment was already completed! Great hotel for short city break. The reception/bar/restaurant all has a feeling of airport about it and as such lacks comfort. The rooms are very well appointed. Lots of sockets thought would benefit from access to wifi rather than wired Internet access. At £5 for 24 hours access it was quite cheap but given the 24 hours did not run from when you […] signed up but rather noon to noon this felt quite old fashioned. This was not my first stay at this hotel so I expected the room to be as perfect as ever. This time I ended up with a large walk in shower rather than a bath which was absolutely fine apart from the shower head bracket was broken but ultimately fixed using sticky tape. It was the weekend do this forgivable. The ceiling above the shower also had signs of mould. This is not what I am used to in this hotel. But is a one off. Parking is quite expensive also but average for the city. I would definitely recommend booking this hotel through third party sites on the Internet to achieve best rates and would also recommend it as a place to stay without hesitation. Read more

I booked this hotel as it was very convenient for the Symphony Hall. My partner and I were very pleased with the location as it was only a 10 minute walk to the Hall. The room was very nice and the staff were very helpful

This hotel is amazing, polite service, beautiful rooms with nice comfortable beds and a loverly bathroom. Great food and room service there even was a pillow menu stayed with my boyfriend for a romantic night together and night out in birmingham alot of business men/women stay here. great for anyone to stay in though

I have stayed at this hotel before and had a wonderful room and a wonderful experience at the hotel. This was made all the more pleasant by Miss Cleophas at reception. However, this time, they gave me a room for a disabled person. While I appreciate the fact that they do cater for the disabled patron, I really wasn't happy with the room. Nothing was […] explained to me and I accidentally let off the alarm when was inspecting all the red cords in the room. When I called down to reception they sent up someone very quickly to switch off the alarm. This was good to see. When I called down to reception to ask for another room, I got the distinct impression that they gave me this room because I booked through hotels.com at a cheaper rate. I may be wrong. They told me on 3 occasions that the hotel was full. Anyway, because I had come off a long haul flight, I accepted my lot and went to shower, but the water was cold. Last time I visited this hotel it was called the holiday Inn, what pleasant surprise to come and see the Crown Plaza Hotel replacement. The location was perfect for my partner and to be close to Brindley Place for good restaurants, Mailbox and Bullring shopping centre for great shopping within close proximity to hotel. Cold room Breakfast a shambles. Items run out, had to ask for replenishments, no leadership Keycard didn't work on second night and had to queue for 20 mins to sort as the hotel greeter couldn't fix it

Certainly not in this particular hotel in this location.

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel, and our flight was very late on the last day, so we request late check-out 14:00, could not be able to confirm the availability until the last night stay and have to ask for hotel duty manger for final approval after denied from many others, rest service and facilities were very good.

Great location, we stayed at the hotel for the Christmas markets and was really easy to acces them from the hotel, as well as restuarants close by and a 10-15 miunte walk from New St station. Room was really clean and spacious, really couldn't fault it. Thought it was a really nice touch to give access to the mini fridge in the room, shows they listen […] to the feedback left.. The staff member at check in was very welcoming and sorted everything out in an instant. We asked for more tea at reception and they brought more up pretty much instantly, nothing was too much hassle. All in all, great location, great staff, clean and spacious rooms for a decent price. we hadnt stayed at this hotel before but i have to say it was very nice staff friendly and helpfull and the room was very nice we stayed in one of the queen rooms the bed was very comfy we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will defenetly be returning.

This hotel is one of the better ones in my opinion in Birmingham. They offer comfortable rooms, contemporary design and good location. The bar and restaurant are modern and feel like airport executive lounges with very little atmosphere but then one would probably not stay at this hotel as a resort in of itself. It is very close to the City Centre […] - walking distance to everything. Parking is expensive but then you expect that at most city centre hotels anywhere. The hotel is modern and clean and the staff are very helpful. The location is perfect, in the heart of Birmingham, close to shopping and nightlife. Would definately recommend.

i would recommend this hotel it was clean, easy to locate, the staff were very friendly, the beds were comfy, the only problem was that i asked for a king sized bed and got twin beds. the air con was a pleasure as it got very warm at times however it was a little noisy. overall i would stay here again and would recommend staying here.

If youu're walking from New Street Station access for pedestrians is poor. I had to walk up a rampl for cars with no pavement. There was an alternative, but you wouldn't know it went to the hotel until after you'd arrived. It wasn't clear that breakfast wasn't inculded. Booked this hotel for a 2 night break with my boyfriend, and got a very good deal. Reception Staff friendly. Check-in and check-out was quick and efficient. Room was large, modern and clean. We were met with a warm welcome and were given our room on arrival even though we were about 4 hours early for check in. The room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. All staff were very polite and helpful. I would definately reccomend this hotel and hope to return very soon.

We stayed on Saturday night 7th May for a family gathering. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Tea in pots was immediately supplied on request instead of the Thermos jug servings, which were undrinkable. Food was well presented, good to eat and reasonably priced. Altogether would thoroughly recommend to others.

If you drive to this hotel, be sure to drop your bags at the main entrance; the car park (nothing to do with the hotel) is fairly grim and is 2 floors below the hotel with no lift! After struggling up to the hotel with our bags, we were greeted by a charming receptionist, and the room was clean, comfortable, great bathroom/shower and with a view of […] Birmingham. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a short walk from New Street Station, the Council House, Art Museum and shopping. It is also almost next door to the Mailbox. We had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant, and the weekend breakfast buffet was ace, with plenty of fruit etc. NB We booked a Club room, which comes with free continental breakfast .
