The staff at the reception area seems to be annoyed with the clients they did not show a friendly attitude and seemed rather confused about what was going on with the 3rd party charge just a very unprofessional check in; but the cleaning stafff was great and that was all of the interaction. The room was good the bathroom was great would stay again I would just want a better rate. Thank you.

"Enjoyed my stay the first time"
Location and quality we're great!
"A Great Place to Stay"
Location is great. Room was spotless, overall service was supurb, In house restaurant was just ok, eat across the street at the italian 4 star retaurant, the Capitol Grill, or Tim O'Tooles. Staff was excellent and met every need. Business center is open 24 hours. Definitely will return.
"Nice hotel but needs updating."
The staff were very polite and ready to help. The hotel room was small but adequate. We were on the 17th floor so the view was really good. Biggest problem with the room was the TV. It was very old. Channel lineup was pitiful and most of the channels were snowy. We also didn't like that parking was not on-site. We had to pay $42/night to park which […] sucked. Close to everything if you enjoy walking. Pool was nice. Read more
"Great Location but......."
I have actually never stayed at a Wyndham Hotel. I don't think I will again. The bathroom left a lot to be desired. I have never seen so much grime around the edges of a bathtub in a hotel. There was a large stain on the carpet in my room. (seriously) The whole elevator set up was annoying. To top everything off I really can't remember the last time […] I watched a "tube" tv. The in room entertainment was a good $5-$7 more than any other hotel I have ever stayed. The food was awful. The work out room despite being told twice was never stocked with towels. etc, etc..... Sorry Wyndham but poor showing. Read more
"Love love the Whyndham great location"
This was our second stay it was amazing once again! Such a great location!
"Great place to stay.."
All of the people there were very polite and helpful. They went out of there ray to accommodate me and make sure I was comfortable. Great place to stay. They also have the most comfortable beds! Will stay there next time I go to Chicago.

"The Wyndham Up Town in Chicago"
Everything in our suite was so badly kept I was unable to stay there with my children. I would have to say that this was the party suite. Ripped curtains, furniture was not even sellable in a garage sale, mold in the shower, toilet was way out of alignment with the bathroom, stains on the couch and chair. The front desk staff was horrible, or maybe […] the other hotel companies have spioled me. The valet and bell staff were great. Maybe they should be promoted. Read more
"Wyndham Chicago near Michigan Avenue"
Overall, the experience was very good. The hotel does need to updated though. Their televisions definitely need to be updated. Carpeting and some of the decor should be replaced. The location of the hotel is wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful.
"Just Coasting"
it's pretty clear this hotel used to be very nice. back when they bought their furniture, TVs, phones, etc, all were probably top notch. but now it seems to just be coasting, making money while minimizing the amount put back into the property. here are a few things i noticed: - it does NOT have its own wireless internet signal. we used the one from […] Fairfield, which was not particularly strong, and no other signals (protected or not) were stronger. none belonged to Wyndham. - the phones are 1995ish technology. i think a customer is supposed to be wowed by the presence of 4 phones, or that one is wireless; the wireless one didn't work at all though, and there was nothing special about the others. they look old, i remember that. - the TV was old and small (maybe 25"? 27"?), a color tube, not flatscreen, definitely not high def. it was too small for the hutch it was in, too. - there was a "cold box," NOT a fridge; this looked the same, just didn't have a cooling mechanism. got some ice down the hall and used it like a cooler, but - what the hell? - the pool/hot tub/sauna area used to be nice, too, i think, but now it's sort of dirty and run down. sauna was the best part (although the door doesn't quite seal), but the steam room was dank, the pool was dirty, and the hot tub was really not very hot. simple maintenance would bring the pool area from a 5/10 to probably 9/10. all the stuff's there. i am very frustrated by hotels like this. i know hotels in Chicago will be relatively expensive, and i didn't have sticker shock generally... but i did after i realized there was no wireless internet provided (which the Red Roof Inn the night before had!), no breakfast (trying to drive business to their over-priced restaurant, i'm sure), and the TV was small with basically no premium channels. i guess they're trying to please the customer who is already impressed just by being in Chicago - not a traveler who needs simple conveniences. "Wyndam hotel downtown chicago"
Nice hotel. Rooms are ok. Furniture is weathered, but the bed is comfortable and clean. Great location. Near "mag mile" and a few blocks from some good breakfast restaurants. Excellent service. The valet and bellman were extremely helpful and friendly.
"Excellent Location"
Located perfectly!
"Wyndham in Downtown Chicago"
This was a great stay. The Concierge was WONDERFUL and very helpful with suggestions. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff was all great. The only negative I have is that once we put a rollaway bed in the room for my 6-year old daughter, the room was a little crowded. But, we only used it to sleep (we were out and about the rest of the time) […] so it wasn't bad. Read more

"Wyndham Hotel - Chicago"
Stayed at the Wyndham Hotel 411-4/15/12. Hotel and Room was very clean. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. My only complaint would be that the furnishings in the room were very dated. TV was the box variety with limited viewing options. I would recommend this hotel to others.

"Not a 4-star, but good for a 3-star"
We had high expectations because this was listed as a 4-star hotel and from the description it sounded luxurious. We were sorely disappointed with our room (awful view, small window) so upgraded, and were disappointed that the promised fold out sofa and chairs were not present. The TV was old (no flat screen) and the furniture dinged up; there was an […] awful stain on the carpeting that they surely could have removed. To their credit, the staff refunded the upgrade charge after I complained, but I was still upset that the hotel was listed as a 4-star. As a 3-star it would have been fine. BTW, they say they are about to do some upgrades (flat screen TVs, new furniture, etc.) The cleaning people were wonderful but a couple of other staffers, not so much. Location is fabulous. NOTE: I had to say whether I would recommend this hotel to others. I would, given the caveats mentioned above. Read more

"Windham on St Clair, Chicago"
This hotel is a great value! Hot tub was not hot--had maintenance sign on it. Excellent bend-over- backwards service in every department. I got Ritz service and paid Holiday Inn price. Very happy.
"Good Location - Disappointing hotel"
The hotel is in a good location. However, it is disappointing in the following: 1) The toilet seat was visibly not clean 2) The furniture is old- It clearly needs renovation 3) You can visibly see dirt and food crumbs behind desks , under tables, etc... which is a sign that the cleaning is shallow. 3) The front desk are unreachable by phone. It rings […] and rings but nobody answers. We had to go down twice to reach them. 4) The concierge staff (one person only) always seem frantic being understaffed. Waiting our turn for a long time, we usually end up giving up and leaving. 5) The TV is very old, small with limited channels- not that you should be watching TV while at Chicago :) On the Up side, the beds are comfortable and no sign of bedbugs. "Hotel Stay"
This hotel was very clean and welcoming. Only downfall was the room size. Expected a little bit more room. Parking was more expensive then some other locations downtown
"Wyndam Chicago on St Claire St"
This hotel is tired! It needs updating and the carpets need to be replaced. Lots of deferred maintenence. The work out room had no towels and the pool is just a joke. Very tiny area and lots of screaming kids that can be clearly heard into the workout room. It is also right across the street from Northwestern Hospital and I am an ER RN so I heard sirens […] all day/night and had trouble sleeping as I kept thinking I had to get up and do something for the incoming. I won't stay there again. Read more
The hotel was very nice. The hot tub was not working, and after reading reviews it has not been working properly for a while. The concieres were very helpful. The location was great. A frig and microwave would have been great in the room. All in all it was a good experience.

"Great location and price"
I have a formula for hotels.com. I make sure I get the location I want, the hotel has 3+ Stars and that the reviews rate a hotel 4.0 or higher. The Wyndham was probably the best price I have gotten in the USA that fits my requirements. The location is perfect. The security is excellent especially because of the 2 story entrance and cards to use the […] elevator. The maid cleaned the room on our last day very late even though it was our fault for leaving a Do Not Disturb sign on the door--above and beyond service. The rooms are dated but in good shape. I wish that there were less pillows and two that were comfortable. The TV is old but has all the channels. These things would not affect my decision to stay here again. The only thing that was really bad was the heat. No matter what we did, the temperature was NOT controlled by the thermostat and it was noisy. Even when we shut the thermostat off, the fan kept running and it was the same temperature. Sometimes it was a bit cold and it wasn't always warm enough. Read more
"Poor Condition, Nice Staff"
We loved the location of the hotel and the staff was extremely helpful when we needed them, overall an okay stay; however for what we paid, we had to call on the staff several times due to complications with the room. The first night, there was no air-conditioning, so we had to wait for someone to come fix the issue. The second day we were there, the […] blow dryer burned up and stopped working; again we had to wait for someone to replace that. We paid more for the king than two double queens thinking the suite would be nicer in size and/or comfort, but it was not. The room was half the size, less comfortable, and there were only sheer curtains on the windows so everyone in the hotel across the street could see into our room --fine for people who do not need privacy, but for us, it was uncomfortable. We also ended up paying $160 for parking and never took our cars out the entire time we were there between checking in and checking out, so I'm not sure the price we paid was worth the quality of the hotel. Very outdated. Read more

We stayed here when our grandchild was born at Northwestern Memorial due to the closeness to the hospital. It was just 2 blocks away and was convenient to walk. The staff was helpful and the room clean and comfortable. We would return again.

"Great location, but not much else...."
I picked this hotel due to the fact that it is centrally located in downtown Chicago and close to all attractions, but the lack basic amenties have me questioning my choice. There was no microwave in the room, but you could pay $25.00 per day if you wanted one although you can't keep it for an entire 24 hours. They tell you that they have wifi, but […] again there is a cost associated per computer/tablet of 10.95 per day. I can't really say that I would stay here again, for the cost of the hotel, these things should really be included. Read more
"Great service, great location"
My husband and I just recently "babymooned" at the Wyndham Chicago. It was amazing! Everyone treated us wonderfully, they got us checked right in upon arrival (12p), the concierge assisted with directions to the train, restaurant recommendations and were very accomodating. I would highly recommend the Wyndham.
