The hotel was very nice and the staff was extremely courteous. Our room was not the one I had booked online. I booked a 2 bdrm suite and we were given a 1 bdrm suite. The staff was able to move us to the correct room. However, we had to pay an additional $20 for the upgrade. The staff apologized for the problem and did everything to make our stay comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good and had a large variety of items.

We love this place! The staff is always extremely friendly – from the valet guys to the front desk folks. It is a great location – walking distance to lots of places. "Most Friendly Service"
I've stayed is a lot of hotels, and this one is the most friendly. From the guys at the valet stand (Steve Smith) who grabbed a few forgotten but important items out of my car (water, cell phone charger) before parking my car, to the front desk attendent. Everyone was super nice and thoughtful. Great Job!

Very nice hotel. Walking distance to the CNN and Olympic Centenial Park and Georgia Dome. Valet was very busy, but not a long wait. Bellman very nice and helpful. Needed more towels in the room. Didn't eat in the hotel restaurant or go to the bar. Everyone was very nice and got the room I requested.

Great stay. The staff was friendly and efficeint. The room was comfortable. The sink had cracks and the massaging shower head had on speed. We will be back.
"Poor for a Marriot"
Hotel room extremely small. Reservation for 4 they gave me 3 towels. Shower leaked and tub backed up. AC could not be used to to loud whistle. Took 1 hour 45 minutes for grilled cheese kids meal for room service. Called for valet ahead of time on both days and still no one got the car till I showed up downstairs and then seemed confused on why the desk […] didnt give them the info. Forced Valet at $28 a night. Told no self parking options, this was a lie I found one up the street. Asked for food recomendations and everyone only said go next door. Felt like they had a vested intrest in it and that was the only place they were told they could send people to. Def not a place I will be back to when I visit Atlanta as I do often. This hotel is very convenient to Phillips Arena. Only about 2 blocks away. You can see CNN center. The Tabernacle is right across the street. I stayed here for a concert at Phillips and it was a great location (only a short walk)The rooms are small, but the beds are comfortable. Good service from the staff. I don't know if it was just our room or all rooms, but we had no air conditioning. When we got to the room it was 79 degrees, not to mention it was 84 outside. We tried turning it down, calling maintenance multiple times, but the lowest it ever got down to was 76. They wouldn't switch our rooms or give us a discount or even fix the air! "The Atlanta Marriott Downtown - Great but. . ."
My son and I visited this hotel for my birthday. We chose this location because it was close to the GA Aquarium and we planned on checking that out while we were in town. The hotel experience was wonderful. The room service was a bit pricey but delicious & the other reviews notified me about the valet fees. The only drawback to this trip came after […] we got home. I discovered three additional charges from the hotel that came after they had already cleared the valid charges. I'm still waiting for their business office to call me back to correct this issue. So my advice if you stay here is to watch your credit card statement and make sure you're only charged for the amount you actually owed. Read more

"Football trip to the Georgia Dome"
We had a great time. The staff were so helpful and curteous. The hotel is a bit older, but nice and clean. It is an easy walk to the Georgia Dome.....a great restaruant (Ted's Montanna Grill) just a couple of blocks away.

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Atlanta Downtown over the past weekend and had a wonderful time. Everyone was more than nice to us. From the doorman opening doors and engaging in short conversation to ask how our day/night was going and recommending some great places to visit and eat, to the people at the front desk making sure we had everything […] we needed. The front desk person, Fernando, seemed to want to bend over backwards to make sure our stay was over the top (which it was). When we checked in, he inquired as to why we were in town, and we let him know that is was our one year anniversary of being married. He immediately asked if it would be ok to send some champagne and strawberries to our room to start the celebration off right (how can you say no to that?). He then topped off the night before we even checked in by bumping us to a junior suite. It was great to have the extra room to relax over the weekend. I have to tell you that my experience was great at this hotel. I was given tickets to see the Atlanta Falcons play, so I decided to make a road trip out of it and take my 5 y/o son. After a long drive I did not want anything to go wrong with my hotel stay. From the time I pulled up to the door and was greeted by a valet, that set my mood, they were […] prompt, polite and professional. They made sure I had everything I needed out of the car since I was trying to control a 5 y/o who has been stuck in a car for hours. My checkin experience was great, the room was more than what I needed, dinner was in walking distance and the Horse and buggy ride back to the hotel really made my sons day. Walking to the GA dome was great no need to fight traffic at all. My son enjoyed it so much he wanted to stop and stay another night as we passed through Downtown Atlanta one more time before heading back home to Florida. Read more

Service was A+. Staff had no problem switching from English to Spanish since my wife doesn't speak English. The room was very clean, filled with details, with a nice view to the city. The BED... oh my God.. the BED. The most comfortable bed I have slept on besides my own. Very comfortable, room had everything you'd need. Nice LCD TV, all kinds of A/V […] hookups for laptop, HDMI, etc (if you're even thinking about that). Walking distance to anything in Downtown ATL. Head down to Peachtree St to the great restaurants.
