Staff were friendly and couteous, rooms were clean and well suited to our needs. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. Some of the towels were stained, other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

Overall the Towneplace Suites is a very nice property, albeit a bit away from my ideal location (Ballston). That said, it was only a 3-mile cab ride so it wasn't that inconvenient. The property was well maintained, the staff was friendly, and my room was quite nice. My only complaints, and minor ones at that, was that they bathroom sink stopper didn't […] work and that I found numerous pieces of hair on the bathroom floor. And for those worried about the location and proximity to dining, there is a small shopping center next door with a market and BBQ restaurant, a little over a block away there is a Dunkin Donuts and 7-11 (convenience store) and if you're willing to take on a bit of a walk (1/2 mile) which I was you'll find numerous local and chain restaurants. The bus to and from the hotel to the Metro runs only every 30 Min Mon-Fri, and every hour Sun from 9:15am to 8:00pm. After 8 you are lost at the Metro Station and have to take a cab. The room has enough space to do lot more things than only sleep. The kitchen is functional and clean. Second time here. Very nice stafff. This was my first Marriott stay (I usually go to Hilton properties). The room was nice enough but there was a strong, unpleasant cooking smell from the included kitchen. Also, the front desk placed a $20 charge on my card for "incidentals." I didn't buy any but the charge stayed on my card for days. The room was cozy but nice with a kitchenette that did have silverware, cooking items, etc. However, the walls were paper thin it seemed, and the person upstairs could be heard walking around loudly, and the person next door could be heard snoring. The A/C system also seemed to superheat the room even after we took the temperature down. It was difficult […] to get to sleep. We stayed because we were out of power and needed to take our family to a place where we could bring our family dog. I would definitely stay here again. I walked to the metro through a nice suburban neighborhood. The room was nice and clean - the kitchen was very useful. I got a great night's sleep both nights. The only drawback is the hotel is not within walking distance of a supermarket. Other than that I recommend it as a good value.

Room was newly remodeled, clean, and very comfortable. The kitchen contained everything we needed. Great location - close enough to Washington, but away from the noise and congestion.
