We had a nice stay. The hotel was under construction but wasnt any problems with that. We had a very clean room. We did pay extra for breakfast buffet but wish we hadn't. We went down at 8am, there was nothing but cereal,oatmeal, breads and bacon left. Wish there would have been moee eggs, biscuits, gravy, or french toast sticks. But the guy running […] breakfast was very nice. We used the pool and juzzi also. Happy that the hotel had them. We also had to call down because at 7am the people in thw room next to ours started fighting which went on for about an hour or so. The bed was extremely hard. I have severe back damage and had to sleep on the love seat which wasn't much better. I woke several times hurting. Overall the hotel was fine. I am a stickler for bathrooms for not just being clean but including the caulking. The bathroom tub/shower caulking ws very bad and not clean. The bedroom was very nice and clean.

Our room was comfortable and clean with a choice of firm and soft bed pillows, which was nice. When we first checked in, the room had a faint odor of bleach, which seemed to fade. Main issue is they allow smoking in hotel. They forced us into a smoking room despite our prior request for nonsmoking and our insistence after we arrived. Manager was not helpful stating they do not guarenteed anything but a room. In addition smell and soot so bad it effected our cloths in our bag. To their credit they did change room next day. My husband and I were exhausted when we got to Wilmington. We had spent the previous night in Savannah and our "neighbors" were up all night with their friends. The hot-tub was out of service our entire stay,even after choosing that amenity when booking our trip. The bathtub was broken. And the shower took half an hour to drain. Tough with 2 kids. Breakfast only until 9:30 so wouldnt recommend if you plan on sleeping in. Also no room service after 8:30pm. It was clean and had a nice hot breakfast.

we were there 2 nights. the first night the room never cooled off. the second night we asked for a wake up call at 8:00 and got a 5:00 wake up call. we had to go to a funeral and this was a terrible experience. At the desk when i told the person there she said oh thats terrible.

This was a one night stay after our time share ran out. The staff was very friendly and the room was extremely clean and comfortable. The only issue was the door to the bathroom opened right into the commode, but other than that it was very clean. I'll definitely stay here again during my next trip in town.

The hotel was clean and had the amenities (spa, pool, microwave/refrig) that I was looking for and in the price range that was within my budget. Location was good with plenty of restaurants nearby and close to the beach. I did have some bad experiences though that was hotel-related (broken/leaking toilet and room keycard problems). The toilet leaked […] for my entire stay (2 nights). Maintenance tried to fix it but it continued to leak from behind the toilet. I had to keep towels down on the floor to keep from slipping/falling. That was very annoying. Also, I was locked out of my room due to a key card problem. I had to walk a long distance (from my room which was on the back of the hotel on the 5th floor) to the front desk several times to get the card reactivated. Finally I was issued a new (Master) key card after the Front Desk Manager went up herself to make sure that it worked. The hotel Staff were professionsal, friendly and apologetic, from the General Manager on down. I was offered dinner, breakfast and refund on one of the nights. I have been in management for many years and I will say that I understand how these things happen and that it is important to take care of your guests/clients. This Staff did a very good job of listening to my complaints with a sympathetic ear and tried really hard to make things right. It was that attitude that made the difference. I really appreciated that and as a result, I will stay again at your hotel. Read more

The smoking floor is located on the second floor and the smoke permeates all five floors through the HVAC system. It is especially bad on the third floor which is supposed to be "non smoking" but is filled with second hand smoke. The first floor hallway near the indoor pool smells of sewerage and when we asked the front desk about this they told us […] that the sewage line ends there in the middle of the hallway. The hotel is scheduled for a complete renovation in November but this did not help us in June! They do hand out free breakfasts to just about anyone who complains and that was 95% of the occupants when we were there. Read more

I stayed just one night with my son at the end of a family visit and it was a wonderful place to blow off steam! The pool is very clean and big enough for lots of playtime. The workout room is up-to-date and located right next to the pool, with glass in between. I really enjoyed the Holiday Inn on Market St. in Wilmington NC! I did the Wilmington Battleship Half Marathon, and was hoping to find a hottub to soak in. My family stayed at the Holiday Inn Wilmington for a family wedding. We were supposed to stay at Shell Island Resort, but had to move due to damage from Hurricane Irene. The hotel was clean enough, but the amenities were very disappointing. The indoor pool was closed for repair??? Not sure why. The fitness room was dirty and the machines looked gross. […] The shower faucet had a broken knob. And the kicker....they advertise a lounge, which was basically a joke. The lounge was the basic amenity that my family wanted, so we had a place to relax and hang out in the evening. The hours were slack (5p-11p) and the bartenders were rude at best. I guess this place is okay if you need a place for a night, but do not get too excited about staying here or you will be disappointed. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable but the staff was not very nice. They acted as if their face would crack if they smiled. I like friendly service from someone with a smile and not a frown. The pool and spa closed way to early.
