Great location just a couple of blocks from Canal St. and French Quarter. Nice transformed area surrounding the hotel. The rooms are very nice but the hotel lobby totally lacks ambience - a lobby bar would be very popular in NOLA but guess that's not part of LaQuinta's national model. Front-desk and parking attendants are pleasant but not very knowledgeable about area - one parking attendant gave us totally wrong info on which streetcar to take to City Park.

The hotel is located in a convenient location (right in the middle of the French Quarter, within easy walking distance of the streetcars and many other locations) and the hotel staff were extremely courteous. There were a few issues that prevented me from giving it more stars: (1) The complimentary 'high-speed' Internet is so slow it is essentially unusable; (2) Hotel staff didn't clean out the mini-fridge and there was a previous guest's food still in there; (3) The soundproofing was not great. We could hear party-goers on the street until 3 or 4 am in the morning.

Well when we first got there we had to have the room upgraded because our room was waaaay too small. We booked a room with a kitchenette but when we arrived they said that we hadn't. .. The hotel was fine but it's clear that they are cutting costs. We had a suite yet there was only one wash rag in the bathroom. There were no shower caps, I had to call someone to fix the heat in both rooms- small things like that made the stay just mediocre. New Orleans is a great city and I'm going back soon but i just won't be staying at La Quinta.

The staff was so helpful with directions to places. Made our reservations to the tours we wanted to take. The room was amazing and bed so comfy. Enjoyed the whole experience.

Location was great and offering valet parking was convenient. I was less than impressed with all three front desk personnel I spoke with. They were not out right rude just seem bothered that I was there. The first time was checking in, second time was asking to bring my vehicle up and third time I asked when check out was. No eye contact, one sighed and the other kept wiping the counter without looking up and told me they couldn't help. Room was run down with a broken dresser, doors offered no sound proofing and slammed every time. Also be advised, pets are allowed here and several times a dog on our floor barked continuously.

was a nice hotel, great value for money and we would stay there again, our only issue would be that because this hotel is pet friendly one of the rooms we booked smelled strongly of urine so we asked to move, which the hotel staff happily obliged and the new room was fine.

The best thing about this hotel is location location. Everything else is sub-standard and needs management to seriously fix the problems. From the broken microwave (which only costs less then $50) at the neighborhood Wal-Mart to the un sweeped floor in our room. The bed are really uncomfortable and the walls are extremely thin. I didn't believe a previous posting about the walls, but it was so true!!!

Very practical location - walking distance to most touristy attractions. Good breakfast. But be aware that Contiki tours stop there. Our 2nd night we did not sleep from 02:30 until 05:00 because people kept coming back from partying and were talking very loudly and slamming doors for a long time even after security intervened. The receptionist did not seem to care much when I mentioned that my 8month old baby was exhausted from being woken up repeatedly. To their credit the tour leader must have spoken to them as they did not repeat the same shenanigans the night after.

Great hotel, nice breakfast included. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only problem was an extremely bright light in the car park across the street lit up the room and made sleeping difficult. Rooms away from the street are probably just fine.

The hotel was an excellent location. Room was very spacious, and breakfast was more than adequate. However, getting a shade fixed that was off the chain was unsatisfactory. Reported once, repaired, and immediately broke again. And the staff was not at all prompt in picking up garbage (litter) and spilled coffee in the elevator. The doors on both rooms stayed at a week apart were also touchy at closing tightly.

Hotel stay was fine. Looked just like photos. Nice feel to it, had breakfast and locatin was great. Didn't like having to pay for parking, but no way around that since it's in the city near French Quarters and shopping areas

In general, we did not like the hotel even though the room was clean and pretty comfortable. The hotel staff is not very helpful or polite and I don't know why they don't have a smile on their faces every time somebody talks to them. The lobby is totally outdated and the front entrance is dirty and ugly. Housekeeping was good. Also, the free continental breakfast was included but when I looked at the breakfast room I didn't want to go in. You can figure why. We ate at a pretty restaurant on the corner called "Dress it" and it was wonderful, the breakfast, the staff and the place.

The location was perfect. Close to canal street and the streetcar. The room was big and roomy and lots of storage space. The bed was comfortable and the room big. The bathroom had a lot of counter space, and very clean. I would definitely stay there again. Plus the breakfast was good. We had a wonderful time.

It was close to everything, bourbon st was walking distance, trolleys, shopping malls and places to eat. The hotel itself needs some major renovation, you can hear other people thru the walls. But I didn't mine. Water was hot, the beds were good, and the continental breakfast was a bonus. If your fuzzy about luxury and quietness its not the place for you. 12th floor, no view. Cost effective, staff was very helpful, will stay here again. For the price it as worth it.

I was in New Orleans for the annual Bayou Classic so every place was very crowded; however, the LaQuinta had fast check-in, the personnel was mannerable, the room was clean, the service was great, the price was affordable and the hotel was in walking distance to every place we wanted to go. We loved our stay at La Quinta in NOLA. It was super close to the French Quarter, but not close enough to have to deal with the noise. We appreciated that since we were traveling with our 2 y/o. They have super friendly staff, clean facilities, and a great breakfast. We'd definitely stay there again.

Wonderful experience at this hotel - staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They made me and my dog feel like we were staying at a much more upscale hotel than any LaQuinta we have ever been to. Proximity to French Quarter was convenient for exploring New Orleans by foot, well-priced in & out privilege valet was convenient for venturing further. Highly recommended - we will be back!

Very convenient location! Just blocks away from Canal, Harrah's Casino, and Bourbon St. The hotel offered early check-in because we arrived a little early. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Things weren't perfect but we were very happy at the way things were solved. I had to change the name on the reservation because my friend got to New Orleans a few hours before I did. At first an employee would not let my friend check in but a manager fixed the problem. We were not happy with the room we got but the staff at the front desk was very friendly and gave us a different room that met our expectations. The rest of the stay was great: room was clean, staff was friendly, hotel was well located and the front desk manager was great. Will definitely stay here again.

Staff was friendly and accomodating. Room was spacious and clean. Location was great. Breakfast is included and is pretty basic (cereal, fruit, toast, hard boiled eggs, waffles, juice, coffee) but was fine for a quick bite before starting the day. Only real issue with facilities was that the door to my room would not swing all the way shut on its own so I always had to go back and pull it shut. Once when coming back to my room I found it ajar - probably because my traveling companion had left it that way earlier in the day.
