"Beware of the 8th and 9th Floor"
This was not a pleasant stay. We had a double room, 4 people & stayed for 3 nights, non-smoking, no pets. Reservation made 6 weeks in advance. Arrived 1 hour early & was told our room on the 6th floor wasn't ready & was asked do we have pets which we told them NO. They checked in our luggage & said the room would be ready in "about an hour". We set […] off to the Quarter & came back about 2 hours later to check in which was now on the 8th floor. Got to our room & settled in and thought this was OK. By the next morning, there was a smell that began to linger. 2 said it smells like pee and 2 were not really sure. By the time we got to our check out day the stench of urine was disgustingly overwhelming & we could not get out of there fast enough. Approached the person working the front desk, after she finished her personal cell phone business, I related the unsanitary condition of our room. She asked if we had pets & again I told her NO. When I asked if they had a selected block of rooms for pets she told me it was the 8th and 9th floors. When I asked why we were put on a pet floor when we had no pets she explained that sometimes when there is not a room available on the other floors then they will put you on those floors. My question is what is the point of making a reservation with your specifications if they cannot comply? We were refunded 2nights of parking "for our trouble". Also, we were only left enough towels for 3 people each morning. Avoid the breakfast - Nasty!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Good location near the French Quarter. Hotel is good but the bed in our room was quite poor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close enough to the action, but far enough away"
All in all a good place to land. Helpful staff and the breakfast was what was adequate.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved this hotel. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance of all attractions...we plan to stay there the next time we go to New Orleans.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Close to French Quater, but quiet place. Continental breakfast was not bad. Staffs were Very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Would not recommend!"
Our hotel room was not very clean. There was food left in the refrigerator from the previous guests. There was some mildew in the shower. There was a wad of gum stuck inside the guest services book in the room. We weren't in our room very much during our stay, but I definitely will be staying somewhere else the next time I'm in New Orleans.Genuine Expedia guest review
Top to bottom, this place is great! The lobby, the staff, the rooms, the amenities...all wonderful! We did not take advantage of the breakfast only because, well, we were in Nola for crying out loud! We didn't want bagels! Local fare only please, but I'm sure it was great. Will definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for."
Clean room. Easy check in. we were on the 12th floor. No water pressure. At all. Bed was awful, really awful. Breakfast is garbage. Really good customer service though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mardi Gras 2014"
First, it's during the busiest weekend of Mardi Gras, so not everything goes smoothly, at any hotel (as one who has stayed at numerous during this event), But saying that, the check-in was smooth, room was comfortable and clean, and the location was extremely close to the parade route and French Quarter. Other than a water pressure problem that lasted […] about 10 hours (thankfully during sleepy time) and a somewhat lack of interest from the valets, this hotel didn't do any worse or better than most I've stayed at during this really packed weekend. "Close to everything"
Within walking distance of the French quarter. Excellent rooms for us and plenty of room for our mal-shiGenuine Expedia guest review
Everything was ok. The parking pricing was expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was located two blocks from Canal & St. Charles trolley. Perfect location and reasonable price without the chaos. My only complaint is start/stop technology used in the showers to conserve water. In the mist of showering no one wants the water to completely shut off then minutes later begin again found it to be an inconvenience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everyone was very nice that we had contact with at the hotel. Only drawback was the water in the bathroom was way too hot! Had to really shower quick to keep from being scalded.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Descent hotel in a great location"
Stayed at this hotel after Mardi Gras. I chose this hotel because of the value. I.e. A great location at an affordable price. It's within walking distance of burning street and the French quarter. The hotel provides free wifi and free breakfast which I always look for. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for a place to overnight […] in New Orleans for a few days. "Mardi Gras Fun with no water!"
My friends and I needed a hotel for the night and found this one of hotels.com. The staff seemed tired and uninterested but we assumed that it was because of Mardi Gras and they had dealt with a lot of people. We checked in a headed to the room and never once did the staff mention a "water shortage". When we got to the room, one of my friends went to […] the bathroom and noticed the toilet did not flush. The sink and shower did not run either. I called the front desk and they stated there was a water shortage they were dealing with and had no idea how long it would take. We had no water all night and into the next morning until check out. We could not even get water out of the vending machine because the water was out and it did not take cash because it was broken. We had to let ice melt to have water to drink. When we went to leave we noticed a note taped to our door along with a few others stating the water problem. I checked out and the hotel never apologized or offered a discount for the issue. I will never return to this hotel again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for Mardi Gras"
Although there were parades and lots of activity only a block away the room was quiet. The hotel did a great job of keeping everyone but guests out during Mardi Gras.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mardi gras 2014"
We reserved the room six month in advance and still wasn't ready until almost 6pm.We didn't have any water for the first day and most of the second day.The hotel said it was a city issue but I saw maintenance carrying out two big water pumps. For what we paid they had little to offer. It was clean and within walking distance to most everything. But beware […] the traffic. Camp street is surrounded by Parades. That part is cool but the only way to get there is off the interstate. That part would have been nice to know beforehand. And yes we called ahead. Will try a new place next time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel convenient to parade route"
There wasn't much water pressure in the shower, probably a result of trying to have a hand held shower head as well as a standard head. The hotel was very quiet which was a little but of a surprise given it was mardi gras weekend. We hope to be able to reserve rooms there next year.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Walking distance to Canal and Bourbon Street"
This was actually my second stay at this LaQuinta. It is an excellent deal for the price and in walking distance of Harrahs casino, Canal street and Bourbon street and the college my daughter attends. The 1st time I stayed at this location 2 years ago I was SUPER IMPRESSED. This time not so much - the hotel is crying out for some newer cleaner fixtures […] for sure. Nevertheless the free hot breakfast (waffles, toast, bagels, boiled eggs, juice and coffee), the wonderful staff and the price make it easy to overlook its deficiencies. Clean hotel lobby and rooms, good location. Sufficient variety of breakfast choices. Front desk staff upon arrival could be more welcoming and enthusiastic. Very nice and helpful upon departure in checking out and calling a cab.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was there for a conference and La Quinta was two blocks away. Because I was there during Mardi Gras many people were walking around so I felt safe. My phone and computer internet connection was bad though. That was the main drawback. Fortunately I didn't need to use it. The hotel was well kept and even quiet to sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Older hotel, close to everything"
The hotel was close to everything. It is an older hotel and needs some work done. When we stayed there the air was not working nor was the elevator. The hotel also has a stuffy smell. I loved the location just not the condition.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Well priced convenient hotel near French Quarter"
Only stayed one night, but hotel was clean, quiet and room was good size. Seemed fairly new, as furnishings and carpeting were in great condition. Very close to Canal Street and public transportation. Left very early, so did not try breakfast offerings, but dining are looked very pleasant. Hotel has a drive off the street, making it easy to pull your […] car in front to check in and out. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We stood at the Hyatt on Loyola for 3 nights for a conference , 4th night we moved here , and Let me say La Quinta was much more comfortable , cleaner , and the distance to the French Quarter was better than the overpriced Hyatt! This is will definitely be our choice for next years stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel and location for the price."
Hotel was relatively nice. Location was great. Walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay again. Only had a couple complaints.... toilet was loud when flushed, broken knob in bathroom that I assume was the bathtub stopper, but since none of us was a tub bath type was no big issue. TV had problems with sound. Had to turn TV off then then again […] to get sound on. Also not a big issue since we did not spend alot of time in room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Just an okay hotel"
Unfortunately I overpaid to stay here due to the beginning of the Mardi Gras parades as well as NBA All-Star weekend. For what I paid for, I was "hoping" that it would be a nice hotel but it turned out to be just okay. Hotel staff didn't make you feel welcome. When we arrived in our room, it smelled like weed so we asked to be moved. The room we stayed […] at smelled much better upon arrival, but throughout the day we'd smell weed. Walls are thin - we could hear people talking in their room and in the hallway. During our stay, there were a lot of people partying at night so we couldn't sleep - thank god this only happened during our last night there. So, I was really happy to leave the hotel! Our T.V. didn't work the first 2 days due to a rainstorm that blew out the electricity. Room was clean but outdated. Probably my last stay at this hotel and wouldn't recommend it to friends/family. However, location was convenient to french quarter. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very nice stay"
For the amount of time actually spent in the hotel it was wonderful. Only complaint is they need more luggage carts and driveway, which are small things. The location is perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Hotel near downtown"
This was a great place to stay internet and breakfast was included. The room was clean a relatively spacious. The bed was a bit harder than I would like. I would have liked parking to have been included for hotel guests, since the predominant mode of travel in New Orleans is car, particularly for visitors.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice and Clean"
The room was clean, the staff was courteous, overall a great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location near the French Quarter"
Very good location within walking distance of the river front, Bourbon street, and other locations in the French Quarter. Hotel staff were friendly and rooms roomy and clean. The only additions for the hotel that would have made it better was a more comprehensive breakfast and a small store area where you could buy snacks, incidentals etc.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good spot... lousy service"
People working at this hotel couldn't care less about their customers. No smiles. We asked for more towels... were told they would send them up and they never followed through. All in all, a very unfriendly stay. I guess for the money in New Orleans, you get what you get.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was great. Room was spacious, and liked that it had a mini fridge. Unfortunately, the pull out couch had some unidentifiable stains that made my friend weary about sleeping on it. Also, the water went out for a short time, due to wait the front desk said was a city problem. Overall though, great value for the money paid, and in perfect walking […] distance from the Quarter. this hotel is very clean comfortable and in a great location for tourist. Just a few blocks from French Quarter. They except pets. The only problem was the water was off in the morning, but I was told it was off all over the city so it was not their fault.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
