In a nutshell, The Biltmore Hotel was one of the best hotel experiences we have had, and if you are looking for a relaxing hotel with lots to do then this is it. The hotel is located in a residential neighbourhood, and in nearby Coral Gables there is plenty of shopping and lots of great restaurants. It is about a 30 minute drive from South Beach and […] about 15 minutes from the Bayside Market (boat tours etc). The Biltmore is the polar opposite of the madness that you will find on South Beach. This is a hotel that focuses on relaxation and comfort, set in a beautiful estate, in a quiet residential area with a golf course, tennis courts, and a one-of-a-kind swimming pool. These alone do not make a great hotel. What makes The Biltmore a great hotel are its people - they simply cannot do enough for you. The staff are very relaxed, they don't try too hard, they just do a good job and are always willing to go the extra mile. When you add this to the hotel property itself it makes for a winning formula. We have stayed in some beautiful 5 star hotels all over the world and our experience at The Biltmore was the best to date. We would recommend this for families, couples, and romantic holidays. Upon check-in the staff was very friendly courteous. The room was clean , but unfortunately it was right across from the icemaker which we heard being used throughout the night. The servers and waiters were efficient and helpful. The bartender at the poolbar couldn't be bothered with questions as he kept referring us to the waiter. When I checked in the hotel, the lady at the reception desk was impatient and rude. The hotel is a bit old, and there is no hot water and tea bags provided in my room. Architecturally the hotel is beautiful even in a monsoon! While we didn't get to enjoy the pool, we dined poolside under cover - waiter was wonderful and brought towels for our shoulders to protect from stray wind and water. Lobby was busy with a wedding reception, and very elegant. Loved the many different levels with different places to escape to […] eat and drink - so while we were not part of the wedding, we still had venues open to us. Bedding was absolutely heavenly!! We were able to self park which was useful as our event was local to coral gables and avoided the longer valet waits. Took advantage of the spa on a rainy sunday - massage wtih the chardonnay oil was blissful and relaxing. Everything was ultra clean - room had high ceilings, bathroom had extra shelving to store all our toiletries, and the water pressure was out of this world! Room maintenance included turndown at night. LOVED everything. Our room overlooked the hotel entrance - and this is the only inconvenience we experienced - an early morning car alarm sounding - probably from valet parking or something. This is one of my favorite hotels in Miami. The service is superb and the food is excellent! I live 25 minutes away, so I often come for the excellent food alone. The Sunday brunches offer unparalleled grandeur: there are more exquisite food items than you could ever imagine. The outdoor patio, where many of the brunch guests can be seated, and lobby […] represent old-world beauty at its very best. The elegant hotel is in a very quiet and wealthy neighborhood, so there is no noise from traffic and the views are serene. Because of the quiet atmosphere, my wife and I slept soundly (the A/C was also quiet and efficient). Room service arrived with breakfast exactly at the time we had requested. Cleanliness is fastidious. Also, I love the huge parking lot--which is free! If you are type-A like I am, you don't want to wait for someone to get your car. I imagine that valet parking is probably as efficient and client-centered as is every other service in the hotel. I enjoy looking at the historic photographs on the wall in the hallways--showing the hotel and its wealthy clients from the 1920s and 1930s. The hotel facade is an architectural masterpiece. The Biltmore Coral Gables is a beautiful, updated classic European style hotel. The public areas are stunning, the grounds gorgeous, and the pool magnificent. The staff were all pleasant and worked hard to please. The Palm d'Or restaurant was as fine as any of the many French restaurants where I have eaten. The courtyard breakfast around the fountain […] was enjoyable. For golfers, the Biltmore golf course was adjacent to the hotel. My wife and I stayed in a junior suite which was spacious and comfortable. I'm a native to Miami, and this hotel provided a gateway from the typical Deco look most hotels have in the area. The service was great! and the hotel was clean. The only thing that bothered me greatly was the TV... We stayed in one of the smallest rooms and there was a box 17' or maybe 19' inch TV set... The TV was so small that when we used the remote […] it didn't receive the signal from the distance of the bed. We had to get up and be about 2 feet away from the TV set to change channels which defeats the purpose of the remote. Other than that the tub was a little small, but ok.
