What a lovely stay we had here! We absolutely loved our little room. I'm one for cozy little rooms and ours was a beautiful one with wooden floors, charming furniture, gorgeous ceiling lighting and adorable white lamps with a French flair. The bed was so comfortable, with the mattress on the firm side, but we like that. The bathroom was clean. A nice, flat screen tv. Everything was in great condition. Absolutely nothing to complain about! A pleasure to come back to after a long day on our feet. A mistake made by us was that we did not read the room manual to find out how to connect the thermostat. We thought it was broken but in reality we should have read the instructions. In the mornings there was a delicious buffet breakfast prepared in the downstairs breakfast room. There were wonderful Montreal-style bagels, scrambeled eggs, ham, toast, jam, yogurt, and all sorts of other things. Saved us the trouble of going out into the cold so early! We may be returning to Montreal on further business and I hope this place will again be available. A note on parking.... There is 15 minute parking outside the hotel for when you check in and check out. We parked underneath the Bibliotheque in the parking garage otherwise, just a couple of blocks away. About $12/ day.

The Hyatt Regency Montreal (Quebec, Canada) is positioned next to the Complexe Desjardins shopping mall and stands across the street from Place des Arts, Théâtre du Nouveau Monde and the Museum of Contemporary Arts.
Hotel Features.
Le Saveur prepares breakfasts daily. Children four years of age and under receive complimentary breakfasts and guest up to 12 years of age may take advantage of discounted breakfasts. The Lobby Bar resto-lounge, with outdoor panoramic terrace, offers creative à la carte menu for lunch and dinner from noon until late night. A business center is open 24 hours a day and provides photocopying and printing services. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas for a fee. Underground access to Place-des-Arts and the city's metro system is available through the Complexe Desjardins located on the hotel's lower levels. The Hyatt Regency is a great value located close to Old Montreal, which is perfect considering that most of the other hotels in the neighborhood are of the "boutique" variety and quite expensive. "Simply super property"
We loved everything about the hotel. The rooms were a little small but the unique design made them very inviting. The room was ultra-clean as was the entire property. The service was very friendly from curbside to the front desk up through the bell service and the bar and restaurant. The breakfast was included and offered a wide selection of food and […] beverages and everything came with a smile! My boyfriend and I wanted to shop while we were in Montreal so the Hyatt Regency was the perfect location - right off of St. Catherine St. It was very cold so we were glad that there was a nice bar / restaurant in the hotel. The food was great and I was a fan of the modern decor.

Very nice room. Pool was great as was the sauna and steam room. For the money, I highly recommend this hotel.

"Good choice, minor inconveniences"
Standard hotel room for a standard price: nothing special here. Things to watch out for include absurdly long waits at the reception desk (when I checked in, there was only one person working at the desk, but at least two others pretending to be busy pushing papers and stacking keys, etc.) and the inconvenient elevators (one takes you from the street […] to reception, another bank of elevators takes you from reception to the rooms: be prepared for long lines and long waits at the latter). We got there pretty late and only stayed one night so are interactions were limited. However the hotel staff we encountered were very pleasant. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room had a great view. Over all the size of the room was pretty big too. The hotel itself is in a great location, at the bottom of St Catherine's St. […] Hotel itself was nice, seemed new, and well kept up. "Late...very late check-in!"
The hotel was at maximum capacity because of the MTL playoff game. We arrived to check in a room that was suppose to be ready at 3pm at around 5pm. We waited in the lounge for 3 hours. In other words, our room was 5 hour "late" and we were given a room at 8pm. They did, after we asked and informed them that my friend is pregnant, offer us some compensation. […] As the evening progressed, I started to ask for more such as a discount on the price of the hotel. They offered taxi chits and food and drinks at the bar. We were very disappointed since we were meeting friends for dinner and had to change our dinner reservation from 7pm to 8pm then to 9:30pm. We were in MTL for only 1 night so this kinda ruined our trip needless to say. I asked for a discount for our next stay but they offered a room upgrade instead. I would have preferred the discount since I feel that we would have to come back in order for us to truly enjoy an evening in MTL the way we intended to. The staff was very friendly despite all this and I would be willing to give this hotel one more chance. But full capacity or not, they should be prepared! Read more

"Great Location, but noisy"
Excellent location to shopping & site-seeing (underground city, complex desjardins mall, old town area, st. catherine & st. laurent streets), which was our main purpose in going to Montreal. The hotel bar was upscale, the rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the parking was convenient, the shower's water pressure was great, although […] we did end up with run-off puddles outside the shower after each use... a heavier shower curtain could fix that. We didn't have a mini-fridge, and the internet cost extra. Minor annoyances. The only negative was the door to the hallway is a little thin. We were awoken at 4am on both mornings... once with a verbal (drunken?) fight between two French speakers, and the second time from someone running down the hallway. "Room not ready"
The room was not ready when we arrived. I was told to check back in an hour and when I did it was still not ready. So we went out to dinner and when we returned, they still were not sure if it was ready. They finally found a room that had been cleaned. The hotel was fully booked, and I guess that is why our accomodations were not ready. They said they […] were very busy. "Great Stay at the Hyatt Regency"
We loved it. Spent a few nights over the July 2009 Jazz Festival period. This is the best located hotel for the festival - really the only hotel to stay at for the festival. The parking is conveniently located under the hotel and is half price on weekends $18/2=$9. The one downside is that we booked a premium view room but got a room on the inner circumference […] of the hotel - nothing premium about the view. The shopping complex and food court under the hotel is so conveniently located. Otherwise this is a world class hotel and we plan to stay there when we return for the festival next year. Read more

"Close to convention center and turist spots"
My stay was very comfortable. My room was great, with a nice view and very quiet. Fridge, coffee makers provided, which was very nice (principally the fridge). I do have a complain and that is that you have to pay a ridiculously high charge per day if you want to use their wireless internet, in the room OR in the lobby. This hotel (as others of the […] same kind) should provide internet free of charge. We are paying enough for those rooms and charging a ridiculous high fee is just tacky. I will not stay in this hotel again because of that, not because I can't pay for it, but because it is bad service in my opinion. You could go to the Starbucks across the street or go a few floors down to the food court and get free wireless, but the Hyatt charges if you want to use it ANYWHERE in their premises using your own computer. It is not like it costs anymore more to them whether you use it or not. I know of other hotels in the area that have wireless included in their rates. That's where I'll go next time. If need to be, charge me a bit more for the room but include the internet!! Read more

We stayed here to attend a concernt at L'astral - best possible location, you can see the lineup forming from many of the hotel windows. Hotel is fine - comfy beds and very well insulated so no street noise. The first impression was amazing! Beautiful lobby and bar. I thought wow are rooms must be amazing but..... As soon as we got off the elevator the hallways were MEH!!! Not at all like the main lobby. My expectations of the Hyatt is very high. I was very disappointed when I got to the Hyatt in Montreal. The room was not upgraded at all. Washroom was small. I spent 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency in Montreal and I have nothing but great things to say about the hotel. The only thing I would like that my room sisn't have was a bar type fridge. My only other little concern is the elevator system they have. You take one elevator from the main lobby to your room. The hotel was very comfortable and convenient, but I would not recommend it because of the unacceptable long waits for the elevators, typically of the order of 15 minutes. Worse, it was not even possible to use the stairs which would have been more convenient for occupants on the lower floors of the hotel.

Very clean with super nice modern decoration and style. Very convenient location close to shopping, the port and the Vieux Montréal.
