Extended Stay America Houston - NASA - Johnson Space Center - Houston

Simply put, I thought the room was unsatisfactory. There were dead bugs on the carpet and the bathroom tub and toilet were in need of cleaning. The lobby carpet and elevator were just dirty. I was really surprised at the condition. My girlfriend and I did not even stay the entire night. We left around 1:00am.

THIS PLACE IS A MUST STAY FOR FAMILIES...I have stayed in many hotels and I must say hands down this hotel exceeded my expectations. After arriving, checking in which was really quick I proceeded to my room to thought I was about to be disappointed. I DONT SMOKE. Space center is across the street. That's cool. too bad that wasn't the point of our trip. Hotel is old and dated. SMALL rooms, cramped conditions, smell of mold. The best part though is the free breakfast! Here's a hint, corporate hotel designers: Candy bars and cupcakes are breakfast for an 8-year-old boy, not business folks rushing to get to appointments. […] Sure, they are labelled granola bars and muffins, but they're still the same junk food you can grab at the local convenience store. Overall very good; although there was not enough room to hang a week's worth of clothes! I also found one of the ground floor side doors propped open with a rock. I closed it - very dangerous. The room was fine and the kitchen amenties were perfect.

Upon checking in I immediately discovered hair on the toilet and in the shower. The room smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. The furniture was in bad shape and I had to pay an extra charge to have the room cleaned.

Quiet, comfortable room. Carpet could use cleaning. Unable to find soft drink machine. No sign over main entry door indicating name of hotel. Also more lighting needed.

I called the morning of arrival to ask if the rooms had dvd players and ice makers in the freezer. The front desk clerk assured me they did. Upon arrival, we discovered the rooms did not have dvd players or ice machines. We had to get ice trays from the front desk. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. Very clean hotel.

NIce, but rather strange layout. Lobby was hard to find at first, not well marked from the outside. Getting to the room felt like a maze. I asked for non smoking, and received a room which had dirty carpet and cigarette Burns on the bathtub. When we first walked up to on room a group of men were smoking, drinking and playing loud music in the hallway! ! It was fine. I was initially given a smoking room but the staff quickly rectified the problem and gave me a non-smoking room. The TV in the room is very out dated and I would have thought they would have upgraded to flat panel TV's by now.

I was not happy with my stay. I requested a non-smoking room in the first floor. No one seem to bother to read my request I was placed in a smoking room not on the ground floor. I was told that there was a non-smoking room available, but that only the supervisor would give permission to change me to that room. I requested to speak with a manger or supervisor. […] I was told that there wasn’t one available. I was also told that the room would not smell like smoke, and that the rooms are thoroughly clean. The whole floor had a strong smell of smoke. I was told that they would try to switch me to different room that never happened. I kept checking to see if they had found a new room. booked a non smoking room as I was traveling with my 10 yr old son for a baseball tournament. we got a room on the 3rd floor and as soon as we stepped off the elevator, it smelled like a biker bar. the smoke smell was terrible. Our room was no better. Asked the receptionist up front to change rooms and she was no help at all. It took her 30 minutes […] to get us checked in just to tell us that she had no other rooms. she walked to our room with a spray bottle labled SMOKE CLEAR. She told me to spray as much as i wanted. I sprayed the walls, curtains, bedsheets, bathroom and half a bottle later, the room had at least a soapy smell. we left for our tournament and upon our return the hall way had a haze and our room smelled a bit like smoke but we had no choice but to spend the night with the window open and ac full blast to clear some of the smell. My daughter and I took a mini vacation to Kemah, Tx for her spring break. I knew hotels in the area would be hard to get at a short notice, plus I wasn't about to pay a arm and a leg for a over night stay in a room. I picked Extended Stay America because it was close and the price was right. I did read the reviews from past customers about the hotel. […] Everyone has an opinion, but just in case I did bring extra blankets and pillows cases. lol - When we got to the hotel the outside looked okay. The front door entrance I notice the painted was chipping off, some got between my finger nails. Our room was on the second floor right next the the elevator.( not good) The Hall way had a funny smell to it, also not good. Inside our room it looked okay, very old furniture, the carpet need a good cleaning and the bathroom, well let me just say house keeping did a poor job in cleaning. The bathroom walls needed to be clean they had some kind of spots on them. The tub looked dirty and it look like mildew at the top of the shower. I had to go bye bathroom cleaner so my daughter and I could take a shower. The bed was hard and we did not sleep in the covers, I was worried they didn't clean them too, but thank god I had my own blankets with me and we slept on them instead. Over all our trip to Kemah boardwalk was Awesome, but our hotel stay sucked. I will be coming back to Kemah, just not that hotel. But don't take my word, you can be your own judge. Read more

Since it was only one night and the price was cheap, it was okay. I am just glad I did not have my hopes up. The carpets throughout the hotel were dirty and stained. The smell in the hotel was not inviting. The bed-spread was damaged from cigarette burns. The bathroom floor was filthy and looked lie it had not been mopped.
