"Not what was expected..."
Queen size bed was actually a full size bed; bed was well broken in and dipped seriously in the middle. Linoleum floors were sticky. No shampoo or conditioner. Maybe 7 total channels. Continental breakfast was a joke: muffin in a bag, coffee, hot tea, and either an apple or orange.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Frontdesk service not good"
I checked in fine. But when i tried to log on to the internet, it was not connecting. Called frontdesk and they gave a number of technical vendor department. they took about 30 mins and fixed it. It went bad again on the 3rd day of my stay and had to spend another 30 mins to get it fixed. One night (last night of my stay i came in midnight and found […] my key was not working. Dialed 6 from the outside phone (as they mentioned) but no one picked. Waited outside for 30 minutes and then someone came in and suggested me to knock at a side window behind the bushes and try your luck. I did and the front desk (laundry person) came out and said your key should work as its correct in the system. Reprogrammed and i went to my room. It did not work again even though i tried several times. I went to the front desk again and tried to call / phone / etc but no answer again. But this time i knew what to do. Crossed the bushes and knocked the glass several times and then saw someone going towards the front desk. She mentioned that the laundry machines are working and the cordless went out of battery so I was not able to hear. I said then you should have left a note outside at the closed front desk about what to do incase of emergency. Breakfast is take-n-go and its pretty sad - only one type of muffin, two kinds of coffee and apple and oranges and the granola celeals. The room was ok nothing great but not bad. Kind of ok. One bed side lamp was fused but i adjusted with the other lamps. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
If you do not stay more than 7 days then you do not get daily service. you have to get your own towels at the front desk. Also the water pressure in the shower was nonexistent and sometimes stopped coming out. I do not stay in many hotels but these two things are most important to the service part and extended stay lacks the service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quick overnight visit"
It was nice to have refrig and microwave in room and free internet. There are many hotels in the immediate area. After looking at rates, I believe I could have found a nicer room for less money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"2nd floor is where it's at"
I stayed on the second floor. Very clean & well kept room. I was warned to stay away from the 3rd floor, which was described as "the ghetto". I guess those were the smoking allowed rooms. (Everyone, just smoke outside)Genuine Expedia guest review

No toilet paper. Didn't know that they would not clean room and replenish toilet paper and soap. Was tired and did not bother. Also not sure whether they charged my card 2x for room.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall disappointing experience. Could hear conversations from others in adjacent hotel rooms. Very noisy due to kids running up and down the hallways. Very little hot water in kitchen sink. No hot water in bathroom sink. Water hot and cold in shower. Bed mattress was uncomfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not everything you need."
The kitchen has literally only 2 place settings, only two bowls, 2 plates, etc. there wasn't any dish soap, or bathroom glasses. Definitely not everything you'd need for an extended stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Kept having issues with my key to get into my room. One night at 12am I had the same issue and went down to the lobby to get my key re-coded. No-one answered the phone assistance phone or was behind the counter. I ended up waiting roughly an hour before walking to the hotel next door and getting a room there. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone. […] AVOID. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Definitely not a 3 star. Hallway carpets filthy, rooms looks not updated since 50'S. not sure that I will ever stay in another extended stay franchise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not up to the usual quality"
We like to use the extended stay hotels for the convenience of the kitchenette. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of this one though. We were given a handicap room even though we did not need one. The lounge chair was broken, there was dust on the floor, and there just wasn't much in the cupboards to work with. The entrance was where all the […] employees smoked, which was just about all day! Our room was above that area. We could not have our windows open, even though it was stuffy in our room. The stairway halls were full of trash also. We just can't recommend this property! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Upon arrival my husband and I were concerned because the front desk/reception area was not very clean. However, our room was extremely clean and well kept. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable. We were very pleased that the mattress and box springs were in zipped enclosures. I would have given the hotel a higher rating because we were pleased […] with the room but felt we needed to mention the lack of cleaning in entry and guest reception. The only complaint I might have, is the food smells from the rooms, in the hallway, also the carpet seemed old. The room itself was very satisfactory.Genuine Expedia guest review

The rooms looked very unclean and untidy. The TVs were very outdated but they did upgrade them over the weekend. The amenities were subpar as far as vending/laundry/soap, etc. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again - especially for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
Checked in after waiting 15 minutes at the desk whith noone there. They gave us a room that still had people in it. They gave us another room which had not been completely housekept. No pots and pans, no hand soap. The remote didn't work, the only way to turn the tv off was unplugging it because the switch wouldn't turn it off. This was not a good hotel […] stay. "Nice, peaceful, clean"
My boyfriend and I were a little skeptical at first because of the area and the rate at which we were getting our room but our room was nice. I loved having a kitchen with a fridge and stove. "Extended Stay America needs an upgrade."
This is a tired property with all the smells of 1990. Room is old and tired, cigarette burns on the bathroom sink. To be fair it was the last room available in the Columbus area when I booked and it was for only a single night, but I wouldn't stay here by choice. Overpriced for the condition of the property but I had little choice. No in room coffee […] unless you asked for a coffee maker and even then I'm not sure coffee was provided in room. Nice person greeted me at the desk, very friendly staff. Tired Tired Tired hotel Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"You get what you pay for here"

I just checked out of this place after a five-night stay. I will admit I was lured in by the price-- five nights in a hotel really add up. Some nice things about the place: you can stay here and eat your own food, stove top, microwave, full-sized fridge, pans, dishes, etc. provided. I didn't mind that it wasn't in the room, and had to be requested at the front desk. A nice employee brought the dishes and pans to my room for me. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure and temperature were more than adequate. The TV worked and there was a recliner to sit in while watching TV. There were plenty of electrical outlets for phone charging and the like. There were plenty of towels; soap and shampoo was provided. The windows could open (you'll see why I liked that in early March later). Breakfast was sufficient and the coffee was strong. There is a large grocery store nearby. It is convenient to the highway, but unless the window was open, you didn't hear it. What didn't work for me was that the place was seriously dinghy and worn. I don't mean that I will only stay in a place that has just been renovated; I mean this place had layers and layers of badly installed caulk all over the bathroom. Parts of the various fixtures were gone or hanging loose. Weird things had gone on in the freezer and hadn't been fixed. No amount of adjusting the temperature of the fridge kept things from freezing on the lower part. The room only gave the illusion of its tenant having control of the temperature-- no matter how cold I made the room (or even turned on the air conditioning), it was sweltering in the room. Hence, liking the ability to open windows. The carpet was nasty-- stained, filled with cigarette burns, etc. I wiped down the table and chair surfaces because they were sticky, and the towel came back black. The bathroom seemed to contain the hair of the last 10 people who stayed in the room. I found odd things in the corners like an olive pit and a toy car. There were q tips in the garbage when I checked in. So nothing earth shattering. Nothing that made me demand a refund to go to another hotel, but, man, this place needs attention. I did mention the condition and lack of cleanliness to the check out desk. I got the routine "so sorry" and "I'll let management know." I suspect that it won't change anything. For women alone, yeah, the area seems to be a tad sketchy. I didn't routinely go out at night, one would be wise to have her guard up. I never felt unsafe, however. The entrances required a key card. The people staying there seemed to be predominantly male, and some seemed to actually live there. Most greeted me, but never pushed for any other conversation. I'd not ever return to this location, but if you only have $50 to spend for a hotel, this one is an option, and might even be one of the best options in the area. If it was seriously cleaned and the broken stuff fixed, I'd probably stayed there a second week. As it was, however, I won't.

Very sketchy area! I came to check in after 11pm and there was metal gates across the entire lobby area. There was a helpful security guard who helped me find a close parking space. If you're strictly looking for a bed and a shower this is a place for you.
"Smells bad, furniture stained, ridiculous kitchen policy"

You now have to cart to your room a coffee pot, toaster, strainer, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, towels etc if you plan to stay more than a night. They bill themselves as extended stay but treat you like you're living in a dorm room. The hotel rooms smell, there is dust on bedside stands and drawers which also have damage. I was afraid to sit on the chairs without a towel. Its basically a place for workmen, not a place for business people. Staff is friendly and overworked - often just one person on duty. Cleaning staff and daytime staff hang outside the lobby smoking. NOT handicapped accessible - you have to get your own luggage cart and drag stuff in through doors that do not open automatically, so you are trying to lug your cart and open the door at the same time. The area is known for drug sales, and the police were at the hotel several times during my visit. "Free wifi" so you could read your email, but had to pay $4/night for better access.
"Good Manager and staff."

Sure you can get a better hotel, but for the price this hotel is very good. The Manager, Carly, always responded to my requests in a friendly & professional manner. The staff was also helpful. I will Stay here again.
"This place is not secure and no security at all"

The Extended Stay America - Columbus North is not a good secure place. The staff have no clue of what is happening. They don't care safety and security. I stayed at this place but I will not stay their again. I will not recommend this to anyone. it is not a welcoming place and the location is not good.

This hotel has great pricing especially if you book the room for over 7 days, and if you book it in advance. The hotel was nice, and clean. The only issue I had was that there were times where the person at the Front Desk was doing other things, so had to wait a little to ask questions.
"Nice but disappointed after previous stay"

After having a very nice stay at this hotel in 2013, I made plans to stay there again this past April. The room was nice enough, but the hallway smelled like a giant ash tray. I had requested a non-smoking room because of my allergies, so I was greatly dismayed when I stepped off the elevator and the cigarette smoke was strong enough to knock me over. I went back to the front desk and inquired if my room was non-smoking and I was told it was, but the floor was a smoking floor. (How does that even make sense?) I was told the hotel was booked solid that night and no other non-smoking rooms were available. I decided to give the room a try for the night. Amazingly, it did NOT smell like smoke and thankfully no cigarette smoke ever came into the room. And someone did open the windows in the hallway so the hallway had aired out a good bit by the next morning. So I decided to finish my stay there, but may look around for another place the next time I'm in Columbus. The hotel is very close to I-71, which was a huge plus. It's also close to restaurants and a grocery store. Another plus. And it has a kitchenette and free wifi. Two more pluses. I really like the accomodations for the value and the location, but the whole cigarette issue really knocked this hotel down on my list of recommendations.

I would say this place is just ok. Could use a bucket of hot soapy water to wipe the walls down. Our room (225) was a little noisy, front desk was going to investigate. She thought it might be the "water room" on the first floor. Just remember your not paying for a top of the line hotel chain. Be realistic about it and you will be fine. Room served it's purpose - good bed, warm room, and hot shower.
"better than expected"

After reading reviews wasn't sure, but staff was wonderful, letting me check in early due to snow storm. The room was clean, bed firm. No easy chair was a bummer, and had some trouble with lock, but it was fine in the end. Was on smoking floor but room was no smoking, and couldn't smell in my room. Floor, carpet was clean. Recommend over In Town Suites any day. TV is high definition but limited channels, but has 2 Showtime channels.. Grab and go breakfast could be improved, but coffee and oatmeal bars in a pinch are good. Close to Giant Eagle shopping center and Waffle House. Easy on and off to 71N-S.
