Candlewood Suites Syracuse - East Syracuse

The facility does not provide the amentities offered by other hotels of comparable rates. Example, Embassy Suites which is just up the road has nicer accomodations, resturant and lounge. It also offers a free breakfast for rates comparable to what I paid. The accomodations at the Candlewood was more like a college dorm.

I am a bit of a hotel snob after traveling a lot for business and staying in 5 star resorts so I have to remember when going to a place like Candlewood or the like that I won't have granite & marble in the bath, etc... but a soap dish would be nice. Hallways are spotless. The rooms could use a good overhaul of cleaning tho- for instance, polishing furniture […] (could see oily fingerprints from prior guests) Clean floors corners in the bathroom clean & moving chairs to vacuum (found dead bug, hairpin, wrapper) & maybe some drapery & carpet deep cleaning . I would prefer comforters to be washed in between stays - I don't think they do that here as there was a scent so I didn't use it. I know hotels are going green but I prefer clean too. Being an extended day, your room is not serviced daily. It was not a problem getting fresh towlels tho from front desk. We stayed in the queen studio suite and the fridge does make noise at night & if you use the AC, it is loud! But for a hotel that had all rooms full, it was amazingly quiet - we didn't hear doors slamming or people talking in hallways. And then of course, the temp dropped and couldn't figure out how to turn the heat on in the morning. We were checking out so I didn't bother calling the desk. The desk staff was always very helpful! I will stay here again when visiting family at SU and get a suite with separate living area as it was fairly clean, quiet and safe. Read more

Our stay was just ok. The hotel is geared toward those with an extended stay. It was quiet. It was clean. Honor system for snacks and drinks. Heat/air system was very loud during the night. Should have turned fan to low. Woke up during night smelling a very heavy "foam" pillow odor. Pillows very bad. Bed was comfy though.

The room was very clean and quiet. Unfortunately, under the amenities it showed a bar/lounge and there was not one. If we knew this, we would not have booked this hotel. Also, there is no one at the front desk during the night.

Perfect location close to where I needed to be for work. Restaurants very close (walking distance if necessary). Cheap room. Friendly hotel staff and the cupboard where you could get food/toiletries was a nice bonus. Plus, onsite workout facility and laundry was nice.

We stayed at Candlewood while traveling through the night before Thanksgiving. The convienience was the main reason, but the hotel was very satisfactory for our stay. The desk manager (Dave, I think) was extremely friendly and helpful and made the visit that much more enjoyable.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The TV was old (standard def) and the remote was missing the back cover so the batteries kept falling out. The front desk is not staffed 24/7.

Most hotels in carrier circle were fully booked, but I was able to get this room in an extended stay hotel for 2 nights. Staff was friendly and kitchen was fully stocked with utensils etc. Room was freshly painted clean though carpet showed some stains. Overall a good value.

Kitchenette, cooking utensils, microwave, fridge, DVD/VCR, and dishwasher. Free popcorn in the microwave. Room was clean when we got there. Free laundramat...just had to pay for detergent and fabric softener. Staff was extremely friendly and gave us a late checkout with no questions asked.

I've basically lived out of Candlewood Suites this year spending almost four months in one over the course of the year in four different states. They do not disappoint overall, comfortable bed, popcorn in the microwave waiting for you to make, all the utensils you could need, etc. Location is great surrounded by a LOT of other hotels and though I've […] stayed at a few cheaper ones in the area will probably come right back to Candlewood next year. This location also takes part in a recycling program with the city of Syracuse, many others don't though do wish they'd do that on a national scale with every chain!! The only disappointment was the cupboard (it's an honor system store in every Candlewood). I thought each would be about the same pricing, but this one was a bit expensive!! The one I usually stay at is half price on everything, so that was a bit disappointing. I usually stock up good there but seeing the prices said no thanks and went to the store. Read more

This is my second stay at a Candlewood and although it was a little worn maybe, it was clean and comfortable and the staff is very very competent and friendly. Hint: the icemakers in the freezers are noisy so unless you need ice, keep it turned off.

I love having a dishwasher, fridge, microwave and stove and being able to make my own breakfast without having to go out first thing in the morning. Wij waren op rondreis door Amerika, een tussenstop op weg naar de Niagara-Falls. Onze suite had alles, ruime kamer, een keukentje met alles erop en eraan, konden dus zelf ons eten klaarmaken. Was schoon en prima bedden. Receptie was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kortom een perfect hotel om te vertoeven.
