The staff members were very nice and accommodating. However, we were concerned as we drove in to see a car in the parking lot up on a block under one of the wheels...looked like something you'd see in a bad neighborhood. The manager said that it had just been washed and would be dry very soon. The lounge chair had also been washed and was also wet so that we could not sit in it. The next morning, both the carpet and the chair were still damp. By that next morning, the cigarette smoke had filtered into our room and the hall outside our room was heavy with the foul smell. We could not take another day so we checked out. I would not reccommend this hotel chain to a friend and we will never consider going back. Read more

the room was OK but the dishes provided were dirty. Since we were only staying 2 nights, no maid service was available. However, while we were out for the day, someone came into our room and turned off the AC. We did not feel that to be necessary as it was in the 80s during the day. Perhaps I missed it in my research prior to reserving, but I was very surprised that there was no daily housekeeping for my room...not even minimal. It was up to me to keep myself stocked on towels, toilet tissue (there was no boxed tissue, so toilet tissue went faster than normal because it had to be multi-purpose), coffee, and to empty my own trash. […] For this lack of service, the cost should not be as high as for similar hotels that include this service in the cost. One night, there was a fire (4a.m.) where we evacuated and the fire dept came, but none of the hotel staff was able to tell me anything about the fire the next day. However, one of the staff did say it was a common occurence that people would come back to the hotel drunk and then cook and burn food in their rooms. Really??? The stench of burnt food prevented me from getting back to sleep that night and I was thankful there were no more incidents for the rest of my stay. I do A LOT of traveling, and have stayed in many different hotels, from smaller, convenience types to five-star, each having their pros and cons. But I will NEVER stay at Extended Stay America again! Me and my boyfriend recently stayed at this hotel in Wilmington, NC for one night. I enjoyed the stay personally as did my boyfriend. The staff greeted us cheerfully and made us feel welcomed. The hotel was right next to a Walmart and because there was a stove & pots available, we cooked dinner and breakfast. The only thing I didn't like about the kitchen […] was that there were only two pots to use. The bed was fairly comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The room had two tvs that were both flat screens one in the bedroom area and another in the living room area. I enjoyed staying here and I would want to stay here again. We had quite a few problems with our room: AC did not cool the room, in-room phone didn't work, and nonsmoking room was quite smokey. Front desk clerk did little-to-nothing to acknowledge or fix our concerns. At checkout, and to his credit, the assistant manager said he would issue a credit.

Motel rooms are usually just a place to crash in a clean bed and be able to take a shower, etc. This motel couldn't offer us a decent shower. The temperature could only be adjusted from scalding hot to too cold, and I had to give my 4-year-old son a cold shower after coming in from the beach. Later on, I couldn't get any hot water at all for my own […] shower. The location is about a mile from the UNCW campus. It is 100 yards to a Hootrs restaurant. There are several restaurants and shopping center right near location. Check in was easy. Room was as expected. Large refrigerator, two burner stove- microwave. and sink. Bathroom is smaller than most. Had a plumbing drip but not a big deal. Standard ac system […] which is loud but that helps me sleep. When I returned at 11pm the front desk is closed and locked. You need key to enter hotels so felt very secure. Don't know if that is problem with late check in. 10 minutes to drive to Wrightsville beach. Bed was hard and linens were cheap. For the price it was worth it, secure and good location if you want evening out without having to drive. Read more

I was greeted with rudeness because the clerk didn't think I had a reservation. There were no amenities in the room except for soap---not even a hair dryer!? The bed sheets were stained and had holes through them. The bathroom had grime and dirt along the tops of the shower. There was a bad odor coming out of the kitchen drawers and refrigerator that made the desire to use it non-existent. Even for an Extended Stay we paid too much for too little. If you want cleanliness this is not the hotel for you.

We requested a non smoking room and were given a smoking room. We checked in around 3:30 and they had already given out all the non smoking rooms. It was musty and hard to breathe. The hotel was perfectly adequate, desk and chair color cable tv and a hot shower. I was less impressed with the hotel services. The front desk it seemed closed at dusk and didn't return until late morning. A load of laundry costs 4 dollars and you have to use quarters (which you could get from the front desk, if only they were open). They provide soap […] bars but no shampoo and not too many towels (though when I checked in I was told by the girl at the front desk, very polite, that I could always grab more from the front desk, ref earlier complaints about front desk). Overall I was not impressed, it was close enough to some restaurants but there are a plethora of other hotels right in the same area, and it'd probably be worth shelling out an extra 10-20 bucks a night to stay at a hotel that provides service. I read some terrible reviews about this hotel, but was looking for somewhere cheap with a good location convenient to both Wrightsville Beach and downtown Wilmington. This hotel had that! And when we checked in we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the flooring seemed to be recently updated, and the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff […] called almost immediately to see if the room was ok for us. I can only think of a few minor complaints: 1. They put us beside the stairwell and people smoked in it, so the smoke smell would drift into our room somehow. 2. The walls are a little thin so you can hear people in the hallway. 3. The front doors are not automatic, so it was interesting trying to open the doors with our hands full with luggage. 4. I wish it had a pool...but we chose this hotel for the small kitchen so that we could save a little more money by not eating out every meal. For the price, this hotel was just fine. Read more

The room wasn't cleaned well after the last occupant. They didn't even take out the trash! Looks nice enough from the outside, decent grounds. Not near to much but it's a fairly easy drive to downtown. About 15-20 to the beach. Not much in the way of service. Very loud. Car got keyed in the lot on the first night. Would I book this again? No.
