WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY/WISH THEY WERE IN EVERY CITY!

I needed a place to stay overnight near BWI before a 6:30am flight. I tried this place because it was inexpensive and had a 4.3 guest rating on hotels.com. The good news: the staff was pleasant, the room was a good size, and their shuttle to a nearby restaurant and to the airport worked well. The not-so-good news: the place is threadbare run-down; I […] got a room near the elevators, which were incredibly loud; the mattress on the bed had ski moguls; the toilet was stopped up (before I used it); and I couldn't figure out how to adjust the noisy heat (finally I turned it off at the circuit breaker panel in the room.) The staff might have moved me to another room when I asked, but told me the hotel was full and nothing was possible. The maintenance man offered to check the heat, but didn't tell me I had to be in the room, so it didn't happen while I went to dinner as I had expected. I finally just slept for a few hours and made a 5AM escape. For my stay, two stars was too many. Read more

They get a 3 because of the amenities, but I did not have a good stay. The air/heat unit was ridiculously loud. when it cycled on it would wake the dead. I had to turn off the unit just to sleep. The neighbors could be heard loud and clear in their room as well. The people with me in another room reported the same.

My friend and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet in the cozy suite... I would definitely return for another weekend getaway from the kids and J.O.B :-) BTW the "spinning" of the prize wheel at the front desk was a treat. Front desk manager (Mr. DeFritas) was in great spirits even at 1am when we returned from our outing.

The woman at the front desk had a chip on her shoulder! Not friendly or helpful at all. I asked for a cot and she acted as if I had asked for the moon! Ended up not getting a cot because they were all taken. So she said! The hotel was very nice and clean. We just stayed for one overnight.

I go to the Annapolis Sailboat show every October and find the best deals for a single or double night stay within 30 minutes of Annapolis are athe BWI airport hotels. My hotel room was very clean, the staff very professional and poite. The only downer and it is not really a downer is thier are no ice machines and no complimentary breakfase. however […] they have a miistore with very inexpensive items to eat, drink, an even laundry machines. The reason there are no ice machines is that the rooms have a kitechnette and the ice is from your refrigerator freezer. However there is not any prepared ice and the refrigerator freezer was immaculately clean. The front desk gave me some ice out of the office for my soda. I would definately stay here again and recommend it. Read more

For the price of a regular room at most hotels, you get a room with a kitchenette. Everything was clean and in great condition, and they have the nicest towels I've ever gotten at a hotel. Suite was obviously meant for extended stay--lots of work surface, full size appliances (including dishwasher!) only weekly maid service. Everything was good quality. I want to make this simple; this hotel is absolutely amazing! The first thing we noticed was the quiet atmosphere which is away from the city and very tranquil. The parking was excellent with people minding their own business lol, which we REALLY liked. The front desk at the Candlewood was very friendly and helpful. We were very surprised with the inside […] of our hotel rooms. The first thought that comes to mind is IKEA because of the decor, which is a pleasant touch. The cleanliness was way above expected and honestly it all looks brand new, either that or housekeeping is doing amazing things with cleansers. Speaking of housekeeping, they were very friendly and they kept to themselves (nice when being on vacation). We will surely be coming back to this location for future stays. Who needs the boring Hilton when this is better and more affordable. Side note: Ruby Tuesdays, Wendys, a movie theater and a couple of gas stations are only 2 lights away. Enjoy your stay! Read more

We stayed one night and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was lumpy and had a dip in the middle, which caused my husband and I to roll towards the middle of the bed. When we got up that morning our backs and necks were hurting. There was also no continental breakfast. Other than that the room was clean and reasonably priced.

Arrived late. Our room had a distinct smell of cigarette smoke. When I complained, the clerk insisted it was a "non-smoking" room. Clerk offered to spray lysol around the room for us, which we declined as it was 1 a.m. Queen-sized bed was small and sagged a bit.

Mostly a very good stay. Just one complaint. Checkout is at 12pm, however, while taking my stuff car, I found that they had cutoff access to my key card before 12pm. I'm not sure when it was disabled, but I had to walk all the way around the building again to the main entrance, and luckily my wife was still in the room to let me back in. On subsequent […] trips to the car, I had to leave items in the doorway to ensure I could get back in to the building. Obviously this is not helpful, nor reasonable, as checkout time had not been reached. I'm not sure what I would have done if my wife hadn't still been in the room. I felt like I walked into the room as soon as the previous occupant walked out. Trash bags around the room, full ash trays, dirty towels in the tub and on the bathroom floor, ashes on the sheets. I had to put clean sheets on the bed myself.
