Ramada Inn & Conference Center - Hammond

Room was small but adequate for an overnight stay.A bit hard to find because they don't have a really clear sign. The toilet ran intermittently all night, so I had to close the bathroom door. The in-room refrigerator rattled constantly, so I had to unplug it. All in all it was still a good bargain for the money.

We overall found this to be a good stay. Room was nice and neat. It included things that were not mentioned like a refridge and microwave. Wifi was slow from where we were at, but worked OK. But there was a strange incident when we came in. There was man who came in before us who had not reserved a room but had called to find out if there were any King […] Beds avaliable. Whoever he spoke with on the phone told him yes. The lady at the counter told him no and there had not been any all day. She was very snippy about it. He was willing to settle for a Queen room but was disappointed since he had just called not too long ago. After MUCH conversation, she finally mentions that they had King Suites but not King Rooms and treated him as if he was kind of stupid. All he wanted was a King size bed, he did not care that he had to pay more for it. He finally got the King Suite but this was a rather long and lengthy conversation that could had been avoided had she just been willing to say at the beginning, "We do not have any of the King Rooms, but we do have King Suites that cost a little more, but does have the King size bed." All he obviously wanted was the bigger bed, he didn't care about the size of the room and he was willing to pay for it! The coversation only mattered to us because we had to stand waiting for a rather long time to check in. Read more

However, I had to change rooms three times for a one night stay.I When I first arrived, the room I entered had water all over the entire bathroom floor--as if the toilet had either overflowed or was leaking. Very basic place, small basic rooms with basic stuff. If you want basic this is it...now all you need to do is be sure you get a good rate and that's why you shop on Hotels.com. I'd say that much of the rate I paid was for the location right by the Horseshoe where I was in a poker tournament. Generally for this rate or slightly more I get a brand much […] further along the hotel quality scale, but generally this motel does a fine job, the rooms, especially in the front wing downstairs are nice and quiet and the Johnel's restaurant is good and only 20 feet from the front door of the hotel. This is one of the three closest motels to the Horseshoe casino (6 miles away) and of the three I'd say this is the nicest but not by as much of a margin as the rates might otherwise indicate. Still, the room was basically clean, the shower basically works, and the continental breakfast is well, you guessed it, just basic. There are nice cookies at night and 24hr free coffee in the lobby. They've done some work since the last time I stayed there. No mold growing in shower. Rooms are small, no fitness center, free continental breakfast, nice restaurant nextdoor.
