"Excellent base to explore greater Miami"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Hotel staff very friendly. nice lobby, good breakfast with fresh fruits and no plastic dishes. After complaining about the size of suite we were sold for 5 persons (definitely too small and not a fair sale) we were given complimentary upgrade to a two bed room suite by the manager which was very much appreciated. Free parking and free wireless internet are very convenient as well as close access to highway and airport.

Free shuttle to the hotel from airport. Nice exercise room and pool. Room was very comfortable, staff friendly, and hotel was well-maintained and clean. Shuttle provided by hotel to points of interest and cruiseport. Definite return stay next time catching a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.

"Not good at managing delivered packages for guests"
I went with my family for one week. We were expecting two packages to arrive. We asked every day for our packages in the front desk and they checked every time all the ones they had received and told us our packages hadn't arrived. On the last day of our stay, we traced one of the packages and it had been in the hotel for five days, without anyone noticing […] it every time they looked for it. The other package didn't have a tracing number, so we had to trust them if they said it hadn't arrived. Finally, someone found it buy it didn't say our name on it, just the name of the hotel (that's the sender's fault). However, the hotel never found this strange and didn't separate it from the rest of the packages. So, be very careful if you have packages delivered for you to this hotel. They don't have a very reliable system to classify the packages and they could be there even if the hotel staff tells you they are not. Other than this, the stay was great, the hotel and rooms were very clean. I would definitely come back again, but being extra careful if I decide to have packages delivered again. Read more
"Close to public transportation"
My room was given away do to my late evening check in. But I was taken care of immediately, professionally & compensated. The room was very clean and I was satisfied. Hotel location was great.
"Good experience with a package delivery problem"
The hotel met the conditions I was looking for. I had problems with two packages I bought through Internet, with instructions to the seller to send them to my attention at the hotel. One of them was delivered at the estimated date, but it took several days to be found by the hotel employees. The other had my name omitted by the seller, which of course […] is a problem of the seller and not of the hotel Read more

"Convenient for conferences in Hyatt or Interconten"
What do you want to know? I attended a conference at the intercontinental in Miami. All the rooms in that hotel were booked so I went to Hotels.com to find something close and inexpensive. River Park is an older hotel with a strange 70s vibe but the room was fine, although small. It was reasonably clean. They served cold breakfast in the morning (bagels, […] cereal and coffee). Overall, I'd say it was a good bargain and I'd stay there again. Read more
"disgusting"
It was duty, hair all over the bathroom floors, dust stuck to the walls. The bathroom floors and carpet were all duty that your feet would stick to the floor. After my kids took a bath walking to the bed their feet got black. Showers were broken, mattress were all broken that there was no cover on it the springs were all showing. Window locks were broken, […] there was not grids on the windows and I stay on the 14th floor and any child could fall over. I stay there for one night but ot was the worse hotel I stayed in my life and never will stay again Read more
"Convenient location"
No hot water one morning, but it was corrected during the day. Restaurant was closed (looked permanent). Complimentary breakfast was so-so. Room key system required that my key be re-set each day of my stay (8 nights). WiFi in lobby only was inconvenient. Staff was pleasant and helpful. It seemed to be a hotel that was a bit older and in general need […] of renovation. Access to public transportation was excellent. AC seemed to work well throughout the stay. Given the modest price for my room, it was still a good bargain. Read more
"close to Hyatt where meetings are held"
The floors of this hotel have a very weird chemical odor and so do the rooms, at least the ones I've stayed in. The mattresses are not comfortable and the pillows are like rocks. I had to go get toilet paper and just did without kleenex as it was never replaced in 4 days. It is cheap and functional so I stay there but it is not my favorite haunt. My […] meetings start at 8am so I have to leave before breakfast starts so I never get to eat there. This time, the staff were nice to me. The key machine was broken so every day when I came in, line or not, I had to get a new key to my room made before I could go to it. Read more
"Good place for a short stay"
This was a decent place for the price. Other hotels in this area are much more. Overall it was a good value for the one night we stayed before we left on our cruise. Very close to the Port of Miami (about 2 miles). If you enjoy walking you can take beautiful stroll.

The Room Hall was extremely Dirty. the Bathroom Sink was Clogged the towel wont out. The roof Ac running like a diesel vehicle unable to sleep. No Microwave anywhere in the Hotel. no additional room to swap over the weekend no Maintenance available. Every guest was complaining about something else. The Bathroom tub was not propertly cleaned. the Hotel […] was unsuitable. never never never. Read more

"Ok for 1 night, but take your own sleep sack"
No mattress pad and mattress had holes in it. Some evidence of bed bugs. Cannot control the A/C in the room. You get what you pay for in downtown Miami so if your expectations are low, this place is fine for a night.
"Good place to stay for a good price"
If you don't want to spend a gajillion dollars on a hotel in downtown Miami, this place is for you. It's older, they never answer the phone at the front desk, but if you just need a place to stay and shower, this is your best bet. Parking is expensive if you have a rental, but there are parking lots around the place, too.
"Poor customer service."
Safe in my room didn't work. They wouldn't fix it nor would they refund me the fee to use the safe. There wasn't an iron in the room. I had to have my room card re-keyed everyday for some odd reason. Staff barely spoke any English. I was worried about the room being gross, but it was actually alright for the price. Wouldnt stay there again though.
"HOTEL IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI"
OH MY GOD DON'T NO WHERE TO START! WE BOOKED 3 ROOMS, THEY WAS AFFORD! PAINT PEELING EVERYWHERE! BED COVERS WAS NASTY! WE HAD TO SLEEP WITH OUR CLOTHES ON, ON TOP OF THE COVERS! BATHTUB HAS MILDEW IN THE TUB, COULDNT TAKE A SHOWER! WE HAD TO WIPE DOWN EVERYTHING IN THE ROOMS! WE DIDNT HAVE ANY FACE TOWELS, HOUSEKEEPER WOULD NOT GIVE US ANY! HAD TO GO […] DOWN TO FRONTDESK! BREAKFAST WAS A JOKE! BAGELS AND CEREAL AND RAN OUT OF O.J. HAD TO WAIT HOUR AFTER CHECK TO GET OUR CAR! REALLY BAD MOTEL! I COULDNT BELEIVE THAT THEY ALLOW THIS PLACE TO STAT OPEN! Read more
"Regular"
It is as good as possible for the cheap price.
"Request a fridge if you need one!!!"
You need to request a fridge at check in if you need one and they are first come first serve. Bottom line: you get what you pay for, but the rooms are clean and not too small. Bathrooms are updated which is nice. Valet is $25 day so factor that in. I was nice to the guy and he gave me valet for $22 day. Convenient location though if you need to be in […] the area and close to the train. Read more
The lobby looks good, that's pretty much it. The bedspread had a red "chunky" stain on it and the carpet was filthy.

"NO PARKING"
This hotel would be great if they had parking. Instead you have to pay $27 a night for Valet. That is lame. Other wise it was a nice shabby chic place to lay your head close to down town Miami.
"Cheap hotel but you get what you pay for!"
Fitness room is a joke. Its just a treadmill taht doesnt work and a elliptical and a bike which dont work either. Breakfast consists of bagels, ho hos, and cereal. NOthing special. Location is great but hotel isnt.
"A night at the River Park Hotel and Suites"

"Good Place to Stay!"
I don't really understand all of the complaining that people are doing about this hotel. I stayed here with a group of my friends (we are college students on a budget) and cannot complain about the hotel. Sure, the hotel is old and in need of a renovation, but you cannot beat the price or location! Pros: Location, Price, Friendly Staff, Clean, Great […] Views Cons: Small, no frills, you get what you pay for. Overall, very nice place to stay! Read more
"I enjoyed myself"
The hotel was located in Downtown Miami so a cab anywhere was pretty pricey. However the neighborhood around the hotel was good to walk around and explore by the end of my stay i knew the area and alot of the locals. Only problem with the hotel was I booked 2 beds and got 1 upon arrival. And was told I needed to pay a fee for a 2nd bed which was insane […] considering I specifically booked 2. It was listed as a request instead. And I noticed alot of other people had the same issue. The hotel is quiet but the pool sucks its so small and my entire stay I saw no one attempt to go. But for the price it was over all a good hotel. The rooms and tvs were a bit outdated and small but who cares if you dont plan to spend much time in your room. The front desk staff dont seem to know much about events and locations but a computer is offered for guest to use and find there way around. Over all not the best hotel Ive stayed in but I would go again. Read more

"River Park Hotel & Suites"
My only 2 complaints about the hotel: Continental breakfast was plain bagels & cream cheese, & a very few of the cheapy cinnamon rolls that got snatched up the minute they were set out. The area was horseshoe shape, & we had to squeeze through packed people. Not many tables to eat at either. Second: You pull your car into the hotel entrance to unload […] luggage then hand your key over to the vale parking man. There is not parking space at the hotel. So you also have to wait for the guy to bring the car back when you want it. Also pay per night parking fee not included in hotel cost. We enjoyed our stay. Across the street is a free “metro” that will take you to the bay area where all the shops, restaurants, live music etc are. Though the parking situation caused me some stress, I would definitely stay again. Perfect location. We drove to Jungle Island one day, Miami Zoo the next day, & SeaQuarim the last day. (Also Lion Country Safari right off Turn Pike on the way home) Read more
"would not reccomend"
The hotel is very run down. There is no parking you have to pay to park, Nothing worked properly. Reservation was lost so I was put in the wrong room. The new room I received the toilet did not work and there was someone else's clothes in the room. I could not get a room key for half of my stay because the computers were down. The free breakfast consisted […] of dry cereal bagels and cupcakes. Coffee that tasted like mud and orange juice. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone. The only reason I stayed is because I was graduating next store from college so it was within walking distance from my graduation. Also you could not use the pool it was dirty and unkept. Read more
"Get a big bang for your buck"
Compared to what we've paid to other places in Miami, this place was cheap! In fact, I was a bit concerned with what kind of place it would be since it was so cheap. However, it was actually pretty nice. It must have been stunning in it's heyday, but there are several things that have been worn over time. I believe it originally opened in the early […] 1900s and there are vestiges of that time period all over the hotel. It looks like they probably did a renovation during the 80s but not since then. It is located on the banks of the Miami river which also has a walk way along the river. During the day, it makes for a nice walk. In the evening, there were quite a few homeless people who use the benches to get a night's sleep. It is also right next to the metromover which is free and can get you around the area. There are also a lot of cute little neighborhood restaurants which had varied and good cuisine. If you're looking for night life activity, this isn't the place. Everything in this area shuts down at night. But if you're looking for a quiet place with a view of the river that won't break the bank. This is your place. Read more

"Hotel Riverpark Miami FL"
The rooms are clean, The front desk is not very helpful, there is no room for parking and DO NOT order food for delivery from brochures placed in the room, they are slow and rude and usually it's cold, but overall for the money it's ok
Nice place Great location for taking the cruise the next day.
"Horible Horible Hotel"
Do not stay here this hotel was awful!!!!!! The pictures do not tell the whole story. It was dirty. In our rooms the paint was falling off the cieling in the bathroom the wall plate covering for outlets on the walls were falling off the dresser top was cracked. The carpet was so dirty that my white socks turned black. When I walked down the steps and […] used the hand rail my hand was black from dirt. The night of check in we couldnt get into our room until almost 1 am due to key cards not working. Our room was not cleaned from one night to the next and personal was not friendly nor willing to fix things. THeir breakfast was stale bagels and lots of sweet rolls. It is better to just pay a few extra dollars to stay somewhere else To say that if this hotel was what Miami offered I would never come back to Miami. Read more
"Oh boy...where to start"
If I could rate this hotel a zero instead of a 1 I would. -requested wakeup call not made, almost overslept - mentioned there was probably a shuttle to the airport, a later question revealed there was not - room smelled bad - one nozzle on the sink did not work - elevator smelled like perspiration - bad check-in Not recommended!

"Disappointed"
WAAAAAAY overpriced!!!! Room was filthy and run down. Stains on walls, ceiling, upholstery. Carpet desperately needed to be vacuumed. Finally found TV remote control on the floor UNDER the head of the bed! No hangers provided. Poor lighting. Continental breakfast selections very limited. Hotel staff negligent assisting us to cruise- ship shuttle (despite […] being first name on their required sign-up sheet) --- unlike the Spanish-speaking guests. Read more

"Cheap Hotel on way to cruise"
Helps if you speak Spanish at check in. Staff helpful. Hotel has seen better days. Rooms clean. Convenient for cheap pre cruise stay. $22 from airport and $18 to ship. We would stay again for that. Some confusion on booking 2 rooms for 6 people, not sure if hotels.com got it right.
"Hotel stay"
The hotel is in an awful neighborhood. The smell is disgusting, the bed is gross and the pillows are 2 inches thick. We were awakened by the noise in the room next door (clearly having sex) and am pretty sure we were next door to a hooker. Absolutely disgusting!!
"Couldn't have been nicer!"
The staff was amazing! Room was comfortable and clean.
