"Great overnight stay for next day cruises"
The hotel isn't located in the best neighborhood. The place is a bit old but clean and well maintained. Security seemed very adequate. The hotel was quite full, but the room was quiet and very big. It appeared to be a suite in past times, but there was no fridge or microwave anymore. Staff was professional and multilingual.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient location & huge suite"
My adult son & I stayed here & were throughly impressed with the suite size, cleanliness & friendly staff. We walked down to "Bayfront" Miami's outdoor riverfront shopping & dining and it was a pleasant walk. There are homeless like most US warm climate cities but we always felt very safe. The only negative was that the breakfast was horrible, they […] only had toast & cold cereal. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Price-quality ratio"
Its a typical american, old worn out Hotel, which still does its deal. WiFi doesn't work in all rooms, but in most of them. The rooms are actually very clean, even though the furniture and the room are pretty worn out. The breakfast is very much the minimum one could offer to you, but still good enough to get you over the first few hours of the day. "Not the greatest hotel in town"
Me and my wife decided to stay a night at the river hotel. First of we couldn't identify the hotel because half of the lettering was missing on the building and there was no signs of maintainance workers. Second there was no self parking lot only a $20/daily valet only parking, with only one guy getting the vehicles for guest. We has to wait 15min before […] getting attended. Entering the lobby, seemed to be well maintained and looked nice. Rooms are small and outdated. A loud boiler in a locked closet kept us awake thru the night. Weve decided not to return to this hotel, not even for one nighy of stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Flood and were moved 15 miles away at 1:00 am."
We arrived at the hotel at 1:00 am after a long flight to find that they had an "emergency" in the hotel and had to move us to another of their properties. I asked how far it was and he said 15 miles. We had purposely stayed at this hotel to be close to the cruise port and downtown. The guy at the desk was not apologetic at all and just basically said […] go, here's the address. We didn't have the energy to try to do anything about it and just left. The new hotel was the Best Miami Hotel which turned out to be okay, but it was not where we wanted to be. I asked what the emergency was and he said it was a flood in the hotel. I understand things happen, but the man was not accommodating at all. I would suggest they find a backup hotel that's close to theirs in case there's another "emergency". "Poor Customer Service"
I have worked in hotel for 15 years and this was one of the worst service/hotels. I arrived after midnight and had to wait for 15 minutes to be checked in. The front desk/night shift manager was pretty rude and argued saying he will not check me in if I did not put a credit card for incidentals. I explained to him that the no where was it stated that […] a guest must put a credit card for incidentals or cash or they will not be checked in. I informed him I was attending a meeting and will not have any incidentals, but insisted he won't check me in unless I gave him a credit card or $50. I would understand if the hotel had servi-bar or some kind of food in the room but there was none at all so it did not make sense to put down a credit card for incidentals when you did not even have a functioning restaurant or giftshop or business center. The hotel states you have iron and ironing board in room, but there was none at all . The floor was dirty and smelly. The continental Breakfast was very poorly set up and no staff at hand to assist. This kind of service is unacceptable especially being you're in a business like surrounding. This was not a hotel but a motel in rural and undeveloped and backward service. ( there's even great customer service in papa and mama board and breakfast stay) . I personally would not encourage any person to stay unless they do not care for excellent guest relations and respect. Oh, I want to thank the checkout clerk for extending my check out time. "Price and location good"
It was my birthday, so my husband and I were looking to go to south beach. This place was good for the price. It's downtown Miami and not far from south beach and all the tourist attractions. It was quiet the time we were there, the room was very spacious with a living room and nice size bathroom. The closet flooring was dirty, meaning they had taken […] up carpet and not replace it, so the padding under the carpet was left and nothing else....shocked but I did not report it because it did not affect our stay and it didn't bother me, I kept the doors to the closet closed, lol. They do charge you daily for valet parking and a personal safe in your closet, unavoidable. And a security deposit is held on a credit card when you check in between $150-200,also unavoidable. The valet are very friendly, nothing was stolen out the car (we left our portable gps in the car ) and they were very prompted about getting our car when we were ready to go somewhere, you have to call them 15mins before you want to leave to have them brinf your car around. The air condition in the room worked very nicely, the heat however did not, I feel like the thermostat is really controlled by the hotel, we wanted to use the heat because we were back in forth to south beach and walking into an room where the air was left on ....well you can imagine we were cold, and since it was no heat , thermostat off and at room temperature we managed. I did not report it because again it did not bother me enough ,we were to busy in and out the room. If we had brought our kids the heat thing might have been a big deal for me. There weren't enough towels and rags in the room for two people so we ordered more, they supplied them quickly. This place served it's purpose, price was good considering we wanted to save on hotel for more spending money for entertainment at south beach. It's not far from south beach if that's your goal but you can't walk from this hotel, you will need a car or I think you can ride the local bus or Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is a little old, somethings in the room didnt work. The breakfast was horrible (just one cereal, bread, juice.. Nothing else!) Overall its a great location to go around miami beach, you can walk to bayside and its like 10 min away in car to the beach. "Old, run down. Looks like it is dying. Needs work"
Ripped us off. Paid at the counter in CASH in advance for the next weekend when we would be returning. The girl said the printer was down and she would email our receipt. When we went back the following week, the same girl was there and she said we booked it on our credit card like we did for the prior stay. She refused to do anything and would not […] get the manager, so we had to pay again, this time on our card or be homeless for a night. We got home yesterday and complained via phone to the manager and he blamed the whole thing on us. It was his feeling WE should have known he was working yesterday. It is our feeling the girl knew the manager was there and SHE should have brought him up to the front to take care of the situation. It is obvious she pocketed the money the week before and didn't want the manager to know, otherwise she would have gotten so he could help us. We had to do a charge back on our card. Also, the hotel advertised free bus service to the Port of Miam for our cruise, but the company they use charged us $6.00 each when he got there. The bus was late and one employee told us sometimes the bus driver just doesn't bother to show up and leaves people to scramble for cabs at the last minute. Over all, the hotel was old, musty, brass was highly tarnished. It is advertised to have a restaurant and bar, but both are permanently closed. A maintenance employee barged into our hotel room yesterday and didn't even knock I would never recommend this place Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel it's NOT what you see on the pictures. Please use it only if you can't afford a nicer one (which there soo many choices just one block away). It really needs renovation ASAP! The main lobby it's tool old and smelly, both elevators are dirty and nasty, rusty and old. The small pool it's dirty and during the three days I spent in the hotel […] no one swept the floor or removed all the debris from the water (I guess they don't want to pay an employee to take care of that). There are extension cords that run through the main lobby which brings power to a carpet fan that runs 24/7. The hallways to the rooms look dirty and smell bad.... and dark! They need more lighting. The "breakfast" area did not have AC all three days I spent. And again... more cords and fans running to "cool" down the area.Rooms/suites really need renovated. Anyway.....what can you expect from a 2 star hotel...... I don't plan to stay here again and I don't recommend it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We had a slow start because we didn't get clear indication on the parking plus a rude valet guy. "What it COULD BE!"
Excellent location, but very hard to find With little attention, keeping up the 1930 feel, it could be a very nice hotel At the moment it is O.K , mainly because of the staff. Breakfast- I would not advertise, white toast/apple cereal/ not so good coffee- however with little care it would pass. ( Miami- Cuban coffee !!!!) Keep milk chilled , not in […] a jug on table.Throw in some bagels, maybe eggs? There is no or very little A/C . Beautiful bar-serves nothing- just basic drinks/coffee /tea would make a nice addition and good income for hotel. There is no food. "Worst Customer Service"
This hotel was only filthy, we were put in a room with no AC. They changed us to a new room at 12am. Then charged us the difference for the upgrade. They have hidden charges. Such as 2.00 a day for a sage whether or not you use it. Parking is 20 a day. If you need a microwave coffee maker or anything its an upcharge. Also not AC in the halls or thr […] bar down stairs where the serve the "continental breakfast "! Which was a joke. The area was ideal. Steps away from the sky train/metro. Which is free. The location, environment and the price are decent. The only thing made me uncomfortable was that bed cover, sheet and pillow cover were thin and wrinkled. They looked old and dirty. "A hotel whose best days are behind it."
The location, and common areas are GREAT! Unfortunately, this hotel was in its heyday in the late 70s and early 80s. It is unclear if the current management are in the process of restoring it to its former glory or just trying to hold water. The common areas are glamorous but the rooms haven'y been touched. The furniture seems to have come from a fancy […] clearing house but the beds seemed to have come from a community college dorm supply store. After reading most of the reviews I had a lot of reservations about staying at this hotel but they all turned out to be unfounded. I found the place clean and well kept. We had a great view of the river and never saw any bridge with "homeless" people. I guess you would have to go looking for it, I never saw one. There were guests in the pool which is […] at the back of the hotel away from the street when I arrived and when I was leaving and I did not see anyone bothering them at anytime. Had great views of Downtown Miami from 11th floor room. No phone or internet in room. Couldn't figure out channel lineup, which was limited to begin with, but flat screen TV was good. Excellent location for public transportation, but terrible location for driving by car and also you must use valet.
