"Below average compared to others of equal price"

First the good part. The hotel is located in a good spot with walking distance to Linköpings small center. Regardless, the center can be skipped there is absolutely nothing to see there. However, there is one grocery shop where it is possible to get some snacks. The second good thing is that the staff is friendly and helpful. Ok things that bugs me. Parking costs. I know this is fairly common, but still it is a rip off to pay over 100 SEK to park the car in a small town in the middle of Sweden. The room. The rug had seen its best days in the nineties. Everything was rather downtrodden, in need of some improvement. Breakfast. Nah. Didn't make my day. Overall, I was would not have booked this hotel if any other hotel in the city had had an available room. I sort of knew what was coming.

I stayed 1 night (Saturday-Sunday) at Quality Hotel Ekoxen, and I had a OK stay. The girl at the reception was helpful, but not very welcoming. With my Nordic Choice Hotels Gold Card I'm supposed to get the best room available, but I got a standard business room. I doubt this was the best they could offer, considering the hotel was practically empty. Our room lacked bedding for the extra bed, and when saying this to the girl In the reception, she informed us that none of the cleaning staff was working. This forced us to switch room, which was uncomfortable and annoying. The room standard was OK. Old, but still not too worn out. Also the beds were to hard for my taste. The hotel restaurant was currently closed during our stay. The location of the hotel could be better. A 5 minute walk was required to reach the town center. We had a late Sunday breakfast (10:00 am), and the breakfast was very unfresh. The scrambled eggs were uneatable. 3 of the 4 different juices were emptied. And the whole buffet just felt very old.
"Very Helpful Staff but needs some updating/quality control"

Very accommodating staff who adjusted the rate when they learned we had a friend unexpectedly hospitalized at University Hospital. Check in was easy and the hotel is well located next to a park, walk able to the center of town as well as the hospital. They allowed us to bring our dog, Marco Polo and provided bowls. Unfortunately, the room was very worn and we were awakened by a delivery truck at 5 am backing down the driveway below our room. Breakfast was ample and very nice in the garden. One major problem was one of us got sick from the dinner from the night before, which actually lasted several days.
"A great weekend in Linkoping"

At just a 5 mins walk from the centre of town, it's a great location. Friendly staff really helped to make this a great experience. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Will definitely stay there again.
"Nice hotel but needs an update"

Friendly and helpful staff. Good location, central but quiet next to a park. The room was fairly spacious, but the furniture and decoration looked unchanged since the 90's and showed signs of wear and tear. A plus was the large bathroom with a corner bathtub. Very few bathroom products though. Room service was fast, food was not bad. But this hotel needs to update rooms. As it is, the price is too high for what the hotel offers.
"It s time to refresh the rooms"

Nice staff, breakfast ok, gym very good included in the cost of the hotel (it s in front of the hotel in an other street in a private structure, you get a voucher) but it s time to refresh the rooms, the bathroom. The location is great, no doubt. Only some walking minutes from the central Linkoping.

Now, first of all, the hotel landscape in Linköping leaves a lot to request. Quality Hotel Ekoxen is the fifth hotel I've tried in the town. It prices itself roughly on par with other central business oriented hotels such as Elite or Scandic but it does not excel in any aspect. Check-in staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms, which are rather small, feel stuck in the eighties and seem tailored for senior citizens. The adjustable bed was a nice touch but added to the feel of myself being a patient at a hospital rather than a customer at a hotel. The bathroom had a sliding door and was well lit but in all other aspects did not surprise. The shower had a fabric curtain which I am not a big fan of. The breakfast offered a standard scandinavian selection which once again did not offer any surprises. The breakfast room itself lacks in atmosphere and does not make you want to linger longer than necessary. I will keep looking for other accommodation in Linköping - in the hotels defense I have to say that the competition does not offer that many advantages.
We just spent one night on your way to Stockholm. Really nice welcome from the reception and excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel is siuted in the center. We can highly recommand this hotel! ........

The welcome at this Hôtel is nice. Staff is available. I know this hôtel since 2011 and the quality is at a good level. Breakfast and dinners proposed at the restaurant is very good. Sauna and swimming pool are comfortable.
"Not up to standard as as a business hotel"

Central location when visiting the University hospital, and close to the central city. The main complaint is the quality of the rooms: The work area had no power outlets available at all, and the net was fairly slow to; 1.6 mBit. Minibar was not possible to open. Very bad isolation between rooms; could hear every word from the neighbor. And a cold bathroom without any heating source. The bed was however of a good quality. Restaurant / breakfast: Small, but still an ok menu with fair prices. A hot meal choice from the buffet at a very favorable price. Good breakfast with a fairly good selection of cereals. But a very limited choice of bread.
