The hotel is right across the street from the train station, tram stop, and grocery. Beautiful hotel with larger than average rooms and baths. We stayed there one night before a river cruise - 5 couples in our group and all were very pleased with the hotel.

Top hotel, but with some minor disappointments: windows cannot open if you like a bit quiet environment due to trams and trains (on the frontside of the hotel at least), and the airconditioning is very loud (I had forgotten my earplugs, definitely missed them), hence I could not sleep well due to the heat in the room and no way or possiblity to cool […] it without hassle. Another aspect I was not happy with is that they could not provide a "hard" pillow, only soft feathers pillows which do not support me sufficiently (back problems). This did not contribute to the night sleep either :-) Staff was friendly, location is great and central, so no further problems, but somewhat disappointed with the above-mentioned. Read more

The hotel is optimally situated near the train station and tramway hub. The hotel has a lovely patio for dining, drinks, etc. I read other reviews that stated the beds were comfortable and that they were. Unfortunately the hotel, especially for its price, deserves better upkeep and attention. The breakfast buffet was awful and $40 should get me a lot more than what they offer. I needed overnight rest between two train trips. Euler turned up to be the perfect choice. Very close to the Basel train station, efficient and friendly check in and out, confortable clean and quiet room with good internet, plus free good coffee from an espresso machine. They also surve breakfast, but I had to leave before it started.

I was happy to find the hotel was steps away from the train station and they even gave us a free pass for the bus to the airport the next day. The bus stop was only steps away as well. The Hotel Euler is a very comfortable hotel. The hotel is only meters from the train station and even closer to tram stops that give access to the entire city of Basel. We did not even really need to ride the tram (though we did for the experience,) since we could walk to all of the sights in the university, historical, shopping/eating, and Rhine River […] locations. The hotel itself is exceedingly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was sparkling. The menu at the hotel is varied, and the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and very professional. We especially appreciated the energy-saving and environmental conscientiousness of this hotel. This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms were clean and of decent size and the bathrooms were wonderful with rain shower heads. This hotel is located right in front of the main transportation hub for the city of Basel and although a bit noisy it settled down at night and we had no trouble sleeping. The people at the front desk were helpful and friendly. […] There is a Starbucks on one side of the hotel and and Burger King two doors down on the other but be prepared they are not your Burger King prices in the USA. We also got a free pass for the transit system to use while we were there and one day we just took one of the trams to the end of the line and back. Got to see some of the countryside that way. I am hard on my ratings as I travel a good bit for business. But the Euhler was exceptional. I had a rental car and they provided valet parking... but if you are traveling by train... it is right in front of Central Station. Easy walk with luggage. This is a fantastic hotel. Quality and service unbelievable for the price.

Our plans were to get off the river cruise, leave bags at hotel and walk around Basel. That worked great..the hotel had our bags in our rooms when we returned (later then we told them we would). We cleaned up and asked the front desk for restaurant suggestions ad were sent to a seafood place overlooking the Rhine that was recommend by the front desk […] - they also made our reservations there without being asked...! Great location, great staff, very nice hotel - both the rooms and public spaces were clean and attractive. When we first checked in we were given a free mobility pass with instructions as to its use - we did not have to ask, the front desk did it as a service to anyone that they cannot get into their rooms immediately I think. We arrived at hotel around 10am knowing that we would not be able to get into rooms - everything went smoothly. Read more

For the most part okay. Breakfast was not included but coffee machines on each floor. Hard to take a shower; water always ended on the floor. Only have partial shower doors. Very convenient; one block from Basel SBB train station.

From the outside of the hotel - your impression is clutter - there is too much going on around the hotel - once inside it is wonderful. The rooms were very nice - updated-clean. Lovely baths! We arrived from the USA with delayed luggage and all personnel were soooooooo helpful with calling the airport. In the lobby there is a pianist in the evenings […] - very cosmopolitan. The Basal tram system is directly in front of the door -wonderful for going to museums,shopping or dinner. Internet accesswas quick and cost free in the business center. Drinks and snacks are available in the lobby. The train station is a block away if you want to visit anything nearby. Starbucks is next door for morning coffee or waiting for travel companions. The hotel is over 150 years old and has been modernized...very comfortable bedding etc....our room looked out on the main street with a street car main station right at your door...the walls are two feet thick and the windows are modern triple glazed so absolutely no noise problems. We greatly enjoyed our one-night stay at Hotel Euler. Because it was so close to the train station we wasted no time getting to and from it and the historic district in Basel. Our room was spacious, well-appointed, clean and very quiet. The king size bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever had in any hotel in our multiple trips to Europe. Convenient location near RR station and many tram and bus lines. No need for car. Breakfast is ridiculously expensive, but there are other options in the neighborhood. Other than that I recommend the Euler wholeheartedly.

We booked a deluxe twin room which we were allocated, The room was lovely, beds were very comfortableand the room was spacious with plenty of cupboard space. It was a short journey by bus from the airport which stopped at the railway station which was then a short walk to the hotel easily spotted with the blue exterior.The pass for the buses and trams was a great asset as we could wander in town during the morning then travel out to St Jakob for the tennis and then back to town for an evening meal and a tram back to the hotel I would certainly book again if I have the opportunity to visit Basel again which I would very much like to do Read more

The hotel is very nice. Our room was very clean and amenities were all provided. The location is wonderful - right next to the SBB train station and many metro lines. Major attractions, such as the Rhein River, Kunst Museum, Munster and even the zoo are all within 10 minutes walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!
