"Clean hotel 10 mins from Venice's main bus station"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast consisted of eggs, cold meat, cereal and fresh baked croissants. This hotel is great value! It is a 10 minute walk from the Mestre bus/train station, next door to a supermarket and close to kebab/pizza restaurants and some pubs. It is very easy to get into central Venice. There is a bus right across the street that comes every 10 mins and takes about 12 mins to get to the main bus station in Venice. It costs a little over a euro one way and you can get the ticket at the reception (along with vaporetta tickets). Keep in mind though that st.mark's square is about a 35 min walk from Piazalle Roma ( the bus station). Unless you want to lug your bags through the narrow, busy streets and (many) staircases of Venice and pay a fortune for a dump, I would recommend staying in the Mestre area and this hotel was great value for the money.

"Venice May 2012"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
We stayed 1 night only and were very happy with the hotel. Dont forget to get you key from Hotel Luca as the Casa Dolce has no reception. The feeling of the hotel is as you were resident of Venice. We highly recommend it.

The Lido, a slender, 11-kilometre-long island facing the Adriatic Sea lies a 15-minute water-bus ride east of historical Venice's centre. In summer it becomes the city's playground, when beaches and water sports draw visitors and Venetians alike. Year-round, visitors rent bicycles to explore the island, take horseback rides, and play golf, tennis, and volleyball. Deep-sea fishing is available in the Adriatic Sea.

San Marco (St Mark’s) is quintessential visitors’ Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.

"Luna Hotel Baglioni"
The hotel and its location, immediately adjacent to Piazza San Marco, were spectacular! My wife, my daughter and her husband, and I spent three nights at the hotel and had a fabulous time. The only problem we encountered was that in early March it was warmer than usual for that time of year and the hotel is not air conditioned. I would really not like […] to be here in the warm/hot/humid months without air conditioning. We kept the windows opened all day and night. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant because there are so many other fantastic places to eat but we had drinks in the bar every night. Read more
great hotel great service
"Good hotel, couple of problems"
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Had problems throughout my stay with the internet connection, and made the mistake of getting a small load of clothes washed and folded, which cost a small fortune. On balance, very good, would stay there again, and would be careful to check laundry prices!
"Beautiful hotel with extremely accommodating staff"
I still can't believe what a great deal we got through hotels.com to be able to stay in such a lovely hotel in such a fantastic location. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful - very accommodating. The room was both beautiful and comfortable. From our window, we could see the small canal with the gondala stop. The morning breakfast was […] delicious (but a tad expensive). I can't say enough good things about this hotel and especially the staff. It was truly an amazing stay. Read more
