The hotel was very nice and clean. We came down to enjoy the lounge, but it closed at 10:30 on Saturday nite : ( I loved everything but the suprises. The restaurant had no listed prices or menu. We thought it was a complimentary buffet (since it was so small...eggs, sausage and old pancakes), then got a bill for $24 for coffee and eggs. Also, the room […] temp was constant regardless of where you set the thermostat....very hot at night even when we turned it off completely. No fans in bathroom can leave a room steamy and stinky : ( Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Attitude Adjustment Required"
The property was slightly above average for cleanliness and amenities. The problem with this hotel was the staff. It was like the old commercial, "...do you get the feeling people just quit trying?" This was a perfect example. We arrived early with bags in hand -- instead of saying, "Hello, how can I help you?", the front desk person stated, "we don't […] have rooms available". Didn't offer a time when rooms might be available but stated hotel "policy". I had been traveling for over 4 hours with kids and this is the best you could do. Since there were no towels in the room, we requested towels and clearly checked in with 2 adults, 2 children -- they sent two towel sets. -- When we called back down for an additional 2 sets, we got an attitude. A person finally brought up some towels and sort of just shoved them in the door. It was as if we were disturbing the staff. Evidently, they have forgotten who ultimately pays their salary. I would not stay there again until the replace just about the entire staff -- Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"not worth the stay"
The parking is inconvenient either pay $17 per car per day or pay for parking that is a long walk during the freezing cold, and with luggage. Hotel room is nice. Hotel food is basic. Drinks was the best part, and our server. One of the biggest issues was the fact that my boyfriend and I took the courtesy shuttle to the auto show, and they never came […] back for us. After a hour of waiting the shuttle of the park inn hotel to us back to our hotel. When we got there the driver of the shuttle was just standing there talking to the other valet. Overall the hotel was average. Not great, not horrible. The staff however, was friendly all around. Very nice front of house experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
it's ok. it get's the job done. except when there's no heat or hot water and it's -13 degrees. ok, pipes burst, i get it. major snow and polar vortex, i get it. but when you have 40 guests and the rooms don't have heat, perhaps the offer of a relocation or the offer of a comp would have gone a long way. Nothing? A free night on your next visit? Nothing? […] Wow. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good but with nickle and diming"
the hotel, room, location, were all lovely and especially nice if there is a conference or concert downtown. However, the breakfast was expensive with very little to offer and there is nowhere to park nearby unless you utilize the valet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
No shuttle service as stated. Had to ask for extra towels. Had difficulty with the TV. Reading light above the bed didn't work. Leaky ceiling near the restaurant. Free parking in lot across the street is inconvient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Their restaurant is horrible. DON'T eat there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My stay experience"
37" TV in a room with 2 beds seem unfitting. No fridge in the room so I could not store essentials for my kids. From 11th floor, I went through each floor down to the 3rd floor before I could find a working ice machine. I observed stains on back support pillows. However, I received quite promptly a request for toothpaste. Despite this I like the hotel […] and would stay again. But this time lower my expectation. I am however satisfied with Hotels.com prompt handling of my complaints. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"More Good than Bad"

Stayed last night, the Hotel was busy crazy with a convention. The staff was very helpful even with the large numbers of guests. Our room was clean but warm, not unbearable but not controllable. Had reserved 2 queens but were given a king. The location and room view were very good. Shuttle took us out but was done at 11:00, would have thought with a sell out that they may run the shuttle longer. All in all, would stay again.
"Outstanding Service + Great Night's Sleep = Happy Guest"

I travel a lot. Mostly for business. I loved this hotel and will book again for sure! Dre at the front desk was very kind in making my reservation. The ease of booking was great! He actually had me looking forward to stay at the hotel. The building is just off of the river. Beautiful view. When I checked in, the front desk agent was once again welcoming. The room was clean which is important to me. I stayed for one night. It was one of the best sleeps I have had in a while. Very quite and comfortable. The next morning, the service from the restaurant was quick and outstanding. My food was delicious also. The service plus the great night's sleep made me a happy guest! I will return again very soon.

Checked in by a lady...Vernanna? Was obviously talking on the phone to a friend, I had to wait for her to finish up the giddy conversation before I could check in. Valet was slow and watched me struggle to unload my baggage. Room was very clean to my surprise after reading some reviews, view was nice. Restaurant was closed for lunch, that sucked. I could smell some type of rotting food near the ice machine that did not work on my floor. I went to another floor where it didn't work also. A nice young lady Amanda offered to bring me ice back to my room and was back 30secs after me!!! Talk about speedy service!! I might stay again, I just hope my first impression would be better!
"Really nice hotel"

I was here on business and this was my first time at this hotel. From the moment I checked in the front desk was really friendly and actually used my name. I thought the place looked good and my room had a wonderful view and was comfortable and clean. I really was surprised of the value and frindlyness of the staff. I would come back for sure... Ask for a room with a view as at night it is really nice.
"empty hotel in empty town"

Maybe it was the time of year, maybe the very cold weather, but there was nothing happening at the hotel or in the town. very quite, the hotel was ok, rooms pretty standard, staff very friendly. breakfast choice a little basic and dinner quiet. its in a good downtown location , but dont expect to get a cab, they are few and far between.
"Pretty but issues"

We thought the hotel was really pretty, the kids loved the pool. It was a good location central to everything. Check in was great however, the valet was not run well. We waited a long time, maybe it was just an off night when we checked in. The hotel was COLD in all the main spaces except the pool area. Be very careful not to sit stuff on your windowsill it gets very cold and very wet. Price was reasonable, breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly.
"Needs a Major Upgrade"

I stayed here on a Sunday evening. Check in was excellent. Expedia had made an error on the billing side; however, the gentleman working the front desk was very courteous and understanding and allowed a hassle free check in. The room I stayed in was a corner room on the third floor with a view of the river. The room was recently upgrade and acceptable; however, there were opened bars of soap in the bathroom and no shampoo or condition. There is no parking at this property and I was charged $16 to have the valet drive my vehicle 15ft and it was parked in front of the hotel (occupancy was very low). I went to the bar for a few drinks around 8:30 and I seemed to greatly inconvenience them. They were supposed to stay open until 10:00pm; however; they closed at 9:00pm. The positives? This is a very convenient location to Huntington Arena and Fifth Third Ballpark. I went to a Walleye game and it was a great minor league hockey experience. The internet also worked very well. This hotel is worth about $70/night if you can get it for that amount; otherwise, you are overpaying for the product.

Loved everything about this hotel!! Making reservations was the easiest I have ever made for a hotel. When we arrived, the valet greeted us and helped carry in our bags through the doors. Front desk was exceptional with their smiling faces. Loved the idea of key card access to the guestroom floors, it provided us with extra security. Once we arrived in our guestroom, loved the view of the river and the lights of the nearby bridges. Very nice for downtown Toledo area. Everything was superb and I would highly recommend the hotel again to other out of town guests. I'll be back!

Our recent stay on New Years Eve was fair at best. We couldn't get the heat under control in the room and the temp was almost 80! The valet parking was a joke - particularly on such a cold, cold night. AND - I didn't notice this until the drive home but I had bug bites on the inside of my arm. Check the beds before you settle in.
"Better than anticipated ..."

I won this hotel unexpectedly on Priceline, since I made a rather conservative bid for a 3* in the Toledo Downtown zone, and received notice from Priceline that they had not only accepted my bid, but 'upgraded' me to this 3.5* property. But, after reading some of the recent reviews here on TripAdvisor, I began to have serious concerns about our stay. We stayed here because we wanted to take in the Toledo Walleye game ("Hockey and Hops Night") between Christmas and New Year's. No worries at all at check-in. Received notice that valet parking (even if we self-parked) at the hotel itself would have cost $16/night; so, I chose to self-park at the other deck recommended by the hotel (~2 blocks away, for $8/night). No issues with the car overnight. Received a room on the 10th floor, and took the elevator up to 10. Immediately upon leaving the elevator, I noticed a lingering pretty bad smell (spoiled food? spilled cocoa?) that lingered all the way down the hallway to our room (1015). Entered the room, and happily noticed that not only the bad smell from the hallway was gone, but the room itself smelled fresh and clean (no lingering smoky smell, as other TA reviewers had experienced) - I am a life-long non-smoker, who grew up with parents who smoked, and I certainly would have noticed if the room had even a hint of tobacco smoke. Good news so far, then. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with nice carpeting and bedding, and a view upriver. Decent towels and toiletries in the bathroom, and no mold in the shower (another complaint of other TA reviewers). However, someone (previous occupant?) had removed the corner shelf / soap dish unit in the shower, which looked a bit tacky. Plus, the shower curtain just barely fit length-wise (top to bottom) into the tub, and I feared that water during our showers would leak onto the floor. Other TA reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the firmness of the beds; we chose the bed by the window, which I found firmer than I normally like, even considering that I prefer firmer beds. No issues at all with noise from neighbors or other guests during our stay. In the AM, we decided to check out the on-site restaurant for breakfast. No one greeted us when we walked in, and none of the unoccupied tables near the windows had been bussed. We sat down, grabbed menus from the next table after the folks left before even ordering (understaffed at 10:10 am when we arrived), and decided to leave ourselves when we saw that they wanted $2.95 (!?!?) for a cup of coffee, and around $10 each for most of the breakfast entrees - plus, we weren't sure we'd get a chance to order and finish our meals before we had to check out at 11:00 am. We did not check out the pool area. So, overall: again, better than anticipated, but the issues with the odor in the 10th floor hallway and service / cost experience in the on-site restaurant rather dissapointed us. Would we stay again? Certainly not at full price, but we'd probably do so if we managed to snag a similar deal on Priceline.
