Good Hotel stay but bathroom in room was very dark.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is in a good location close to downtown restaurants and bars. They offer a great shuttle service to a local casino and other amenities. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay here agin.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location, Poor Service"
The hotel is located in downtown Toledo, which was very convenient for my business needs. When we checked in there was a single person at the front desk and he seemed frazzled, being that there was more than one person who wanted to check in at the same time. He also held a phone conversation while he was checking me in. The best part was when we tried […] to go to dinner at the hotel restaurant, and then when we asked the waiter/host if we could have a table his answer was "sure, but I am the only one here tonight so it might take a while." Then we tried to eat at the hotel bar, and the situation was similar, plus the bar tended managed to only find 1 copy of the menu after a lengthy wait. The great thing about this hotel is that they have a courtesy shuttle that takes you far away from that hotel restaurant. I have to return to Toledo next year, and even if I have to make a longer drive to my meetings, I will not stay at the Grand Plaza Hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Enjoyed the small indoor pool, great view of the river, walking distance to MudHens stadium and several restaurants. On the weekend the streets were mostly deserted.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked the room on Hotels.com so the rate was reasonable however, the hotel is very mismanaged. They didn't have my reservation in the system and had to call Hotels.com. The staff was very nice but they were very unorganized. Our TV didn't work and we asked to have it fixed but it never got fixed. This could be a nice hotel if it were managed better. […] There was a horrible sewer odor in our hallway on our second day and they had to set up fans and open the stairwell doors to air it out. The breakfast buffet was a complete joke at $11.00 a person. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Close to Hollywood CasinoGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall, it was fine. There was nothing spectacular about it. The one major downside is that you have to have your car valeted @ $16/day. I wasn't familiar with Toledo so there may have been some other parking options that I wasn't aware of. I wouldn't have a problem staying there again, but I wouldn't mind staying somewhere else either. Also noteworthy, […] no continental breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Close to Seagate Center"
My experience is was disappointing. There was no parking, you used the valet or parked in a nearby parking ramp. The restaurant was not very good to say the least. The service was very slow and they only had one server and one cook on duty. It was windy that evening and a lot of leaves blew into the lobby and they were still there in the morning. The […] breakfast you get for free at a motel will cost you $10.95. I think next time I will stay somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Excellent hotel in downtown Toledo. Easy access from street. Courteous, friendly staff. Beautiful, clean room with river view. We will definitely stay here nest trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
I am one who hates hotels, but stayed here a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised. Church had a convention in this hotel (again) so why not go? Many reasons. I went with an older woman from church and had 2 double beds. Checked in, parked my car, and went to the room. One King Bed. Called down to desk, waited 35 mins on phone for someone to tell […] me that they didn't have any other rooms. I booked in January for a mid-March stay. But they offered me a cot. WHAT???? Didn't pay to sleep on a cot. Well the room was hot and stuffy. Turned on AC. Left it running on 60 degrees while we went to get food. Came back and was still stuffy. Slept thru night with air on, never cooled off. Next day, needed towels. Waited an hour and a half for them. Desk told me they could not find the housekeeper. ?????? So finally go to take shower and water was cold. Figured my roomie used it, but later heard from others at the meeting that they didn't have hot water either. This whole stay was a bust. "Personal Not Conference"
I went to attend a portion of a conference and had booked two rooms with two double beds. Due to late check outs of other guest our rooms were not ready. When we were checked in one room was clean and fresh but the other room was not. They moved my friends to another room that was cleaned appropriately. However, that put us on the 9th floor and them […] on the 3rd floor instead of next door, which was a little inconvenient. The valet parking left a lot to be desired. The wait for your car was an half hour. Getting your car to the door to load and unload was difficult due to cars being everywhere and many not moving. I would stay there again for personal business in the city, but I hope not to have to do another conference there. Now the conference rooms were very nice and great for the conference of several hundred people. But the parking is not conference ready!! I expected a wait for my car at checkout since everyone else was checking out as well, but an hour is just a bit unacceptable to me. And then to have to go down the drive to get my car and inch it up to the door in slow moving traffic to load our luggage was more than a notion after waiting so long for the car. Honestly the hotel had more business than it could handle in the valet area. Overall it was a nice hotel with helpful friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was a disappointment as well. It offered no alternative for those who don't eat pork. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The hotel was freezing."
Everywhere we went in the hotel-the restaraunt, pool and our room was frigid. It was so uncomfortable we only stayed one night even though we already paid for two.Genuine Expedia guest review
When we arrived our rooms were not what was reserved. Then when getting the shuttle to the casino was surprised by the attitude of the young valet. A complete smart mouth with no people skills. Breakfast buffet was awful. The food was old and uncooked and appeared to possibly be leftovers from the week before? Not sure, but would never eat there again […] or recommend. Rooms once corrected were very nice. They were clean, however we did have to call down for another set of towels as there was only one set in the room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was very nice and clean. We came down to enjoy the lounge, but it closed at 10:30 on Saturday nite : ( I loved everything but the suprises. The restaurant had no listed prices or menu. We thought it was a complimentary buffet (since it was so small...eggs, sausage and old pancakes), then got a bill for $24 for coffee and eggs. "Attitude Adjustment Required"
The property was slightly above average for cleanliness and amenities. The problem with this hotel was the staff. It was like the old commercial, "...do you get the feeling people just quit trying?" This was a perfect example. We arrived early with bags in hand -- instead of saying, "Hello, how can I help you?", the front desk person stated, "we don't […] have rooms available". Didn't offer a time when rooms might be available but stated hotel "policy". I had been traveling for over 4 hours with kids and this is the best you could do. Since there were no towels in the room, we requested towels and clearly checked in with 2 adults, 2 children -- they sent two towel sets. -- When we called back down for an additional 2 sets, we got an attitude. A person finally brought up some towels and sort of just shoved them in the door. It was as if we were disturbing the staff. Evidently, they have forgotten who ultimately pays their salary. I would not stay there again until the replace just about the entire staff -- Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay did not start out well. We could not even get into the very small parking area to check in - cars, trucks and buses were everywhere and there seemed to be no one in charge. The rooms are very nice, however. Only one person was working the front desk so check in was slow. The cleaning staff was also behind the counter, dressed poorly with dirty […] clothes flung over their shoulders, so the first impression was bad. I tried to order room service the next morning but was told (after many phone calls to different extensions) that only one person was there and he couldn't leave to deliver to rooms. "Birthdaycation on the Maumee"
there was an error on the dates when i first reserved for the hotel in toledo, ohio. so i went alone for the first 4 days and was treated very well by the staff and loved the view of the bridges on the maumee and the aqua bar downstairs. i located a cafeteria in the lower level of the 5/3 bank building to the north and enjoyed the view from there also. for […] the correct dates of my reservation, i came back the same week with a friend to celebrate our birthdays in toledo. our room was on the opposite side of the hotel with different view of the city. we had a great time in toledo area and were treated so kindly at the hotel, especially by dre and manny. our only objections were the valet only parking at $17 a day with expected tip added, and no vending machine on our floor. it was jan-feb and bad weather so there was no lunch offered and only pancakes for breakfast. i don't know what other months offer. i truly enjoyed this vacation and the location right on the river, but i prefer having access to my car without valet so i may not stay here again. "not worth the stay"
The parking is inconvenient either pay $17 per car per day or pay for parking that is a long walk during the freezing cold, and with luggage. Hotel room is nice. Hotel food is basic. Drinks was the best part, and our server. One of the biggest issues was the fact that my boyfriend and I took the courtesy shuttle to the auto show, and they never came […] back for us. After a hour of waiting the shuttle of the park inn hotel to us back to our hotel. When we got there the driver of the shuttle was just standing there talking to the other valet. "Just go somewhere else"
The staff is mediocre and don't make you feel welcomed, valet is the biggest joke, elevator stop working and had an overly expired certificate for operation. We literally had to bring the keys inside to valet because they didn't come out to the vehicle, we got our own car at one point, and at another point there was no valet. Rooms are lackluster. Upon […] checkout I was given a receipt but was charged 4x the amount on the receipt. I had to call my bank for them to stop charging me, then had a representative leave me a voicemail stating they'll make up for the issues upon my next stay, as if I'd ever go back. "Grand Plaza Hotel review"
The Grand Plaza hotel was a sad dissapointment. Parking is $16 per night for valet, with the only free option being a HIKE to another garage. "A bargain at Expedia price."
I was at the Grand Plaza when the cold wave hit the Midwest. Toledo imposed a Level 3 for traffic which meant that only emergency vehicles were allowed on the streets. Water pipes cracked in the hotel because of the cold so I had no heat or hot water for 2 days. After a day the hotel gave me a portable heater which helped a lot. It was impossible to […] buy food because all of the restaurants and supermarkets were closed. The hotels restaurant was also closed. I had brought some food with me so I was okay. Also, the hotel had a free complimentary breakfast in the morning which helped a lot. That was the bad part. "problems with heat and hot water"
Checked in early Friday night and was in the room very quickly. The room was 90 degrees and only got hotter as I tried to adjust the temp. The hotel sent the Maint man up and he called the front desk and got us another room. Not a great way to start the trip but things happen. The next morning the whole hotel had no heat and no hot water. Each call […] said that it would be working soon but it never got fixed before we had to leave the hotel without a shower. The hot water tank broke so we were unable to shower, the heat went out, a tv didn't work in one of the rooms, the shuttle service was MIA and then staff attempted to compensate us by giving us free drinks in the hotel bar, the beer was flat and awful, we didn't even drink it. I understand things happen, however the whole experience was awful. the hotel, room, location, were all lovely and especially nice if there is a conference or concert downtown. However, the breakfast was expensive with very little to offer and there is nowhere to park nearby unless you utilize the valet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"My stay experience"
37" TV in a room with 2 beds seem unfitting. No fridge in the room so I could not store essentials for my kids. From 11th floor, I went through each floor down to the 3rd floor before I could find a working ice machine. I observed stains on back support pillows. However, I received quite promptly a request for toothpaste. Despite this I like the hotel […] and would stay again. But this time lower my expectation. "Nice hotel food service needs improvement."
Hotel was nice. Food service not so good. They only meal we had in the hotel was breakfast (served between 6:30 - 10:30). We were the only people at the hotel restaurant at 8:15 AM. We ordered the breakfast special, pancakes. Pancakes were cold. A replacement plate of pancakes were brought to the table and they were also cold. Waitress just shrugged […] her shoulders and said she would not charge us for breakfast. Pancakes looked like they were made in advance and not to order. We also checked out the breakfast buffet @$10.99/person, only items out were oatmeal, cereal, fruit & muffins. It wasn't until more people came in around 9:00 AM that they decided to fill the warming trays with meat and potatoes. Eggs were made to order. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Comfortable modern hotel in good condition. Very helpful staff. Our room was missing all the towels and face cloths (??!!) and required 2 calls to get sent up.
