We were told best hotel in downtown Toledo. Check in staff good. Room small. Bathroom very small. Waiter at breakfast wearing shirt that really needed to be ironed. "A disappointing stay for my family of 3 :("
My husband, 3 year old son and I stayed for one night at this hotel. When we walked in to our room we were greeted by warm humid air, even though the air conditioner was set to 66 degrees. I was hopeful that it had been turned off while not occupied and just needed a bit to catch up, but it never reached a comfortable temperature through our entire […] stay. It made sleeping at night very uncomfortable and sticky. We also discovered a long black hair on the sheets when we pulled the top covering off (I have blonde hair, my husband and son have short hair). Gross. When dinner time rolled around (6ish), we decided we would just eat at the restaurant within the hotel. Unfortunately there was a prom buffet being held the same day we were there and our trip through the lobby to the restaurant involved fighting through a sea of high schoolers dressed up for prom wearing entirely too much perfume. I have slight issues with claustrophobia in crowds, so I found this to be difficult and uncomfortable. Once we reached the restaurant, we were told only the "bar" section was open (not the restaurant section with a view of the water like we were hoping for)...Our meal for a family of 3 after tip came to $41...very overpriced for one bottle of beer, a personal pizza, a cheeseburger and a grilled cheese meal. The swimming pool was smaller than it appeared in the photos and was very overcrowded both times we tried to swim. Overall I felt this hotel stay was quite a disappointment. Overall decent stay. Location was perfect and we had a good view of the river. Many dinner options walkable. The cost of valet service seemed a bit much for a city the size of Toledo and it got chaotic around check out. We parked across the street in a garage for half the price. They have no parking especially for handicapped and charge $16.00 a day if they park for you an then $18.00 for a movie and no restaurant. We were there for the hockey tournament and it turns out that 2 of the 4 teams were staying there as well. They advertise shuttle to the casino, but we were stranded there for well over an hour. They should have indicated no shuttled service if no staff. We did not want to do valet parking since we arrived after 9 and wanted to save some money and time....the lot looked very crowded with cars waiting so we parked across the street in a parking garage. The room was simply uncomfortable. The thermostat did not work in the room so the temperature could not be adjusted. The shower head was loose and would not adjust to a fixed position.
