The room was descent and clean. This hotel was not above a 2 star. Has no amenities. No door man, bellman, parking restaurant or bar. The entrance is also on a dimly lit alley that I would have never walked fownGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't waste your money!"
This hotel has a great location, but unfortunately, that is all it has going for it. Only two desk attendants working on game day, so it took us 45 minutes to get checked in! Our room looked at a concrete wall. Room divided up with a TV cabinet that was way too big for the room. Bed sheets looked dirty, and there were pencils in the back of the TV console […] that opened, so obviously it was not cleaned. Prefer to use stairs, but stairwell not appropriate for use. Dimly lit, and some floors no had indication what floor you were even on. I would not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"No hotel parking"
Hotel does not offer parking...elevators are small and take forever...it was faster to take the stairs and I was on the 11th floor...I won't returnGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very old hotel. We waited to check in for close to forty five minutes because there was only one person working the front desk. This was a Friday at 4 pm, which is check in time. Great location and really nice staff. This is an ok place if you plan to stay over a night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst Hotel in downtown St Louis"
If I had been staying longer than one night I would have found another hotel. This place has not been updated since the '80's and it shows. Worn carpet with holes in it, no hot water, no amenities, remotes that don't work and broken coffee makers in the room. Not worth the cheap price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice elegant hotel but no amenities"
For the price there weren't any amenities. There was no frig or microwave BUT the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable!Genuine Expedia guest review
"A bit better than expected..."
Room was a bit warm for us; turned thermostat all the way down but still a bit warm for us. Nice variety of TV channels were listed in the "guest services" book in the room, but you could actually get only about 1/4 of them--wanted ESPN as we'd just come from the Cardinals game, but could not get ESPN in the room. A "Showtime Guide" was in the room, […] but could not get Showtime on the TV. Room was clean. I was concerned about this prior to getting there based on other reviews I read on this hotel, but pleasantly relieved. As we didn't book a room until the week of our stay, this was the only hotel downtown that had a room available (that wasn't $500!) Parking was reasonably priced ($16 per night) when compared to other hotels we've stayed at, however it was about 1.5 blocks away from the hotel. Not realizing that, we ended up hauling all our luggage from the car 1.5 blocks back to the hotel. It was nice to be able to walk to Laclede's Landing and also to Busch Stadium--both not terribly far from the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"could be way better"
Uninformed staff and the drain in the shower didn't work and some mystery stuff on the walls. But overall not too bad, good for a short stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel rooms are nice, but very oddly shaped. The hotel is old, so my guess is that they combined 2 old rooms to make one new one. Also, there were unsightly construction(?) elements - ie. the "door" next to our room was boarded up with particle board and painted white. Kind of freaked me out. Excellent location if you're in town for a Rams game […] - only 1.5 blocks from the stadium, however there are hardly any places to eat nearby, except a Starbucks on the corner. I would give this hotel 5/5 stars if it weren't for some minor picky things. But I am not a picky person. Every place human beings stay has got to have some show of wear and I was impressed by the ambience and comfort of this hotel overall. Great location only a few blocks from great restaurants and the Gateway Arch. Oh, but you do have to pay for parking. […] I stayed one night, in town less than 24 hours, and had to pay $16 for the garage I was told to park in. The hotel does not validate. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"First time downtown"
We enjoyed the chance to stay downtown and walk to the Cardinal game. Disappointed that there was no pool open. Had to park down the street in the parking garage. One of the doors to the motel was locked and we had to go around to another door. Cafe was supposed to be open during the day and we never saw it open up. Staff was very friendly and helpful. "Ok if you're not spending a lot of time inside"
When we arrived the toilet was consistently running, we called the maintenance and they were to come while we were at a baseball game. Got back at 11pm and the toilet had stopped running, my son used the toilet and flushed and it then kept running through the night and didn't work for us from that point on. The staff did not seem to care at all that […] we had a room without a working toilet and refused to accommodate in any way. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable, but the rest of the room needed some fixing. There were multiple issues with peeling paint and other aesthetic issues that need addressing. Not recommended and I will not stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel close to the ball park not recommended."
We stayed in #712 next do to a loud mechanical room. The carpets were unclean, the elevator inside was dirty, the room itself smelled musty. After traveling for seven hours it was very disappointing and no food or drink available in the hotel. I would never book another room.Genuine Expedia guest review

"There's better in St Louis"
Hotel is conveniently located by Edward Jones Dome and not too far of a walk to Busch Stadium. Parking for the hotel is a block away so I hope it's not cold or raining when you go here and you don't pay per night, it's per hour and you have to pay every time you come and go. The elevators are really really small and can maby fit 3 people with their […] luggage. Neither of our remotes worked for our tv. The hairdryer is so hidden that I couldn't even find it until we were packing up to leave. They don't offer a continental breakfast of any kind. Their wifi is horrible so don't expect to get much done using that. There is a store under the 2nd parking garage so that's helpful but you don't have a fridge to put anything in. There are many many other hotel options on downtown St Louis! Don't waste your time here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel looks quite deceiving on the outside but the room was VERY cute and comfortable. The room could have been alot cleaner and the staff was not very enthused to be there. "Close to downtown events & sights"
We had a king bed that was more like a queen, we had to search several floors for a working ice machine, there were no vending machines on our floor as indicated, the elevators are very small and need new carpeting, the room we had also needed a good carpet cleaning or just replaced and the paint in the bathroom behind the toilet was bubbled and peeling […] bad. There wasn't enough parking in the garage for the guests. Our floor smelled a little musty. They were under construction so we had no access to the restaurant or pool. The service was friendly and helpful and overall an ok motel to stay at being downtown and within walking distance of several locations, but was a bit of a disappointment for the cost. "Amazing get-away spot"
The hotel was very clean and modern. You can tell that it is an older building, however they have updated the décor and appliances. "Nice hotel, but a little smelly"
This hotel was an older one. The first thing I noticed when I checked in was the horrible smell in the lobby. It smelled like a dead mouse (multiplied by 1000). Very bad smell. However, our room was fine. It was decorated very cute and I liked everything about it. It smelled fine. Hopefully, the smell was just a temporary thing. "Dark and noisy"
Given the age of the hotel the condition of the rooms are okay. Elevators are rough, exercise room is tiny, Interent service is slooooooowwww. My biggest complaints were the paper thin walls, actually the door between the adjoining rooms, and the terrible desk help late that evening. The room had an adjoining room which had some folks talking, having […] a good time but sounded like they were literally in my room. I like to stay in non-chain hotels and historic or older hotels with charm. The Mayfair was a disappointment. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk. I waited for a few minutes and then began to walk around looking for someone and then began to call out, "hello, anyone here?" After I walked around, someone finally appeared. Checkout, though […] I had prepaid through Expedia, took way too long. The room was spacious and clean but the furnishings old and worn. The room was dark, the TV fuzzy, and the phone didn't work. I called for a wake-up call and the next morning when the wake-up call came, I couldn't get it to stop. Picking up the phone did not stop the ringing. I will say that one of the staff came up and knocked on the door to make sure I was up, which was very nice. I reported the phone problem to him. The front desk was manned when we left and the clerk was very nice and helpful. The hotel has no restaurant, bar, breakfast room, etc. I won't stay at the Mayfair again.. "Great for staying on a budget"
Stayed at the Roberts-Mayfair after a Cardinals game. Our room was great. Everything was clean and tidy. The only downside was the plumbing is a bit noisy. If your neighbor takes a shower you will hear the plumbing. We would definitely stay their again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"!!NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED BAD!!"
Hotel looks to be somewhat updated but lacks anything outside of a clean room. The TV was very fuzzy on every channel. The pool on the roof was non existent. The in-room dinning was in the directory in the room but not in existence. No help from front desk finding any food to be delivered in. The vending machines in the hotel were supposed to be on […] every other floor but we only found one that would not except paper $ nor a credit card in its swiper. Staff was decent but not extremely helpful or friendly. It is however close to the American Center but that was the only perk. Place needs serious attention to detail and customer service. "Nice hotel small rooms and terrible parking"

The staff was friendly (although we only saw two staff members the entire 2-night trip), but the entire hotel was completely run down from the front doors to the room. It looked like it had been updated a couple of years prior, but there had been no work done to maintain it at all. The hallway on our floor had torn and stained carpet, the walls needed […] to be painted, the light fixtures were broken (some were just bare bulbs), some doors were just open, and our room was much of the same. It was clean enough -- we didn't feel like it was dirty at all, but the run down nature of the building made it hard to think that it was actually clean. We didn't feel safe, because there is no security on the front doors (they don't lock or even look secure) and the person at the "front desk" was often away from the desk talking on their phone. We felt like we were the only people in the hotel -- we only saw two other couples. I guess we were the only one's dumb enough to spend $109 staying in this run-down hotel. We also were frustrated because Hotels.com said that they have a rooftop pool, which we were looking forward to using. But when we got there the information about the pool was crossed out and someone wrote "no" over it with no explanation. Our room door was hard to open and shut, and someone had carved a number into our headboard. It just felt like a complete scam. I would never stay there again. We spent most of our trip out of the room, luckily. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The trip was a special one for my grandson's high school graduation. He wanted to see his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. We saw three games while in town.
