Although the lobby and the room were clean and nicely decorated. The wall mounted tv hung oddly and the channels were static. When we called the service person came up flipped through the channels said he check and never came back or called.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed there during an extremely busy weekend with both the Rams/Cardinals playing. The hotel was very very busy and the 2 folks at the front desk couldn't have been more professional. We had a king suite and there was ample space, which was also very clean and smelled clean. I certainly DID NOT expect it to be this nice and will most likely be staying […] here every time I come to St. Louis, which is often. The only recommendation I could make would be to hire more front desk personnel. This is not a knock on the front desk staff, as they were truly exceptional. Just one or two more fine young persons would make it more efficient. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good downtown St. Louis option"
After a last minute decision to travel to St.Louis for a quick overnight and a Cards game I found the Roberts Mayfair Hotel option at a reasonable price just before leaving on our 4 hour drive. Arrived late at night with myself and three daughters. All of us were very happy to find a pleasant gentleman at the desk at 2:00 AM and a very helpful Bell […] Hop in the morning to direct us to a good local breakfast option. The girls were very surprised with the nice two bed suite inside of an older hotel building. The only thing we really missed was a microwave which would have been put to good use. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone going to St. Louis for a game or other event. Our short stay was excellent with a good night of sleep including a Cardinal win & sweep of the Pirates!! "Close to the stadium"
My husband and I stayed here for one night. It is a nice location for baseball games and restaurants. The old antique feel of the hotel is nice but the rooms need updating. The rooms are small and awkward. Right at the foot of the bed is a giant entertainment center that cuts the room in half. This is definitely a "no frills" hotel. There are no extra […] amenities or room service. We paid for a king bed but the bed was definitely a queen and was very uncomfortable. The pillows were super small and both my husband and I woke up with stuff necks. The worst part of the experience- the building next door was under construction and when we woke up and opened the curtains, there was a construction worker right outside of our 5th floor window!! I really wouldn't recommend this place, unless you're desperate. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Run down and old"
This hotel is run down and old. From the pictures, it looked well rennovated, but walking into the lobby, things were much different. We had a room with broken closet doors, a bathtub that looked filthy, and a blood stain on the carpet. Not to mention the paint was peeling off. It served it's purpose, but we will not be staying there again!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Robert's Mayfair, St Loyis"
Great 1925 hotel! Beautifully appointed, large, spacious rooms, and great location!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible not expecting that"
We arrived to the Mayfair right at 4 the short describing passage of the hotel says that floors 3 to 17 have views in the rooms I was facing a white wall outside my window... Also when I walked in the were black stains all over the wall the tv was unstable and no cable channelsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, but terrible cleaniness"
Check-in was very easy and front desk attendant was very nice. That is about the only thing great about my stay. Getting to my room I found it to be very dirty and even the sheets were not clean. I called the front desk and they very happily put us in another room. However this room was too found to be unclean along with the sheets. I was moved a third […] and this time to a two room suite. This was the cleanest of all the rooms and ended up staying here for the two nights. The hotel is a very old building that shows its age and while they tried updating the rooms, it does not come across that the upkeep is done properly. The restaurant and pool were being renovated and could not use them. The gym was not very clean and the equipment was not in very good condition. The internet was hard to connect to and then had very poor signal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"nice room low price"
We stayed in the king size suite. The hotel was within walking distance to everything on Washington ave and an easy drive to everything else in the area. Due to this being on older building the AC wasn't great but it worked well enough for me. The french doors between the bedroom and living room did not have any blinds so privacy was an issue as we […] had a friend sleep on the pull out couch. "OK but would not stay again"
Not much if any updating has been done to the lobby. Dark and dreary. Furniture was dirty, just not real appealing. Front desk was off to the side, outside doors did not open wide enough to get carts in easy. Room was ok. Carpet was wet and had an odor. Halls and doors needed painting. Area was ok also, but not in the best place for downtown. Parking […] was far away, shared with another hotel. TV did not work and called three times and no one ever came. "Do not stay here. Staff is awful. Poorly managed"
We did not get service and needed towels. When we called they said come and get them. We had to wait in a very long line if people checking in. The fire alam went off during the night. They did not have sheets on the pullout and of course they again said come down and get them. Coffee was not restocked so we had to go down and get more. The staff was […] awful. "Convenient Location. Good Value"
After reading the reviews, I was a little worried about staying here.... It wasn't near as bad as the ratings suggest... The elevators are a tad slow. It's a bit outdated, but the beds are comfortable, everything is clean, and it was a decent price. If you are looking to go to the game, have a few drinks, and just need a place to stay, this hotel is […] for you. The one main pain was finding parking. We just parked across from Busch Stadium (on the east end). If you have a few kids and plan on staying and entertaining them in the hotel, this probably isn't the place. "Close to must-see sights"
Everything in the hotel was fine. Workers were helpful and kind. The worst part was finding the second parking lot. The directions given were not the clearest and the downtown streets of St. Louis are one-direction making it difficult to get around when not familiar with that situation. It would be much better if they provided valet parking, but I understand […] they do not own the second parking lot. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Don't waste your money!"
This hotel has a great location, but unfortunately, that is all it has going for it. Only two desk attendants working on game day, so it took us 45 minutes to get checked in! Our room looked at a concrete wall. Room divided up with a TV cabinet that was way too big for the room. Bed sheets looked dirty, and there were pencils in the back of the TV console […] that opened, so obviously it was not cleaned. Prefer to use stairs, but stairwell not appropriate for use. Dimly lit, and some floors no had indication what floor you were even on. I would not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very old hotel. We waited to check in for close to forty five minutes because there was only one person working the front desk. This was a Friday at 4 pm, which is check in time. "Worst Hotel in downtown St Louis"
If I had been staying longer than one night I would have found another hotel. This place has not been updated since the '80's and it shows. Worn carpet with holes in it, no hot water, no amenities, remotes that don't work and broken coffee makers in the room. Not worth the cheap price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A bit better than expected..."
Room was a bit warm for us; turned thermostat all the way down but still a bit warm for us. Nice variety of TV channels were listed in the "guest services" book in the room, but you could actually get only about 1/4 of them--wanted ESPN as we'd just come from the Cardinals game, but could not get ESPN in the room. A "Showtime Guide" was in the room, […] but could not get Showtime on the TV. Room was clean. I was concerned about this prior to getting there based on other reviews I read on this hotel, but pleasantly relieved. As we didn't book a room until the week of our stay, this was the only hotel downtown that had a room available (that wasn't $500!) Parking was reasonably priced ($16 per night) when compared to other hotels we've stayed at, however it was about 1.5 blocks away from the hotel. Not realizing that, we ended up hauling all our luggage from the car 1.5 blocks back to the hotel. It was nice to be able to walk to Laclede's Landing and also to Busch Stadium--both not terribly far from the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Uninformed staff and the drain in the shower didn't work and some mystery stuff on the walls. But overall not too bad, good for a short stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel rooms are nice, but very oddly shaped. The hotel is old, so my guess is that they combined 2 old rooms to make one new one. Also, there were unsightly construction(?) elements - ie. the "door" next to our room was boarded up with particle board and painted white. Kind of freaked me out. Excellent location if you're in town for a Rams game […] - only 1.5 blocks from the stadium, however there are hardly any places to eat nearby, except a Starbucks on the corner. I would give this hotel 5/5 stars if it weren't for some minor picky things. But I am not a picky person. We enjoyed the chance to stay downtown and walk to the Cardinal game. Disappointed that there was no pool open. Had to park down the street in the parking garage. "Ok if you're not spending a lot of time inside"
When we arrived the toilet was consistently running, we called the maintenance and they were to come while we were at a baseball game. Got back at 11pm and the toilet had stopped running, my son used the toilet and flushed and it then kept running through the night and didn't work for us from that point on. The staff did not seem to care at all that […] we had a room without a working toilet and refused to accommodate in any way. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable, but the rest of the room needed some fixing. There were multiple issues with peeling paint and other aesthetic issues that need addressing. "There's better in St Louis"
Hotel is conveniently located by Edward Jones Dome and not too far of a walk to Busch Stadium. Parking for the hotel is a block away so I hope it's not cold or raining when you go here and you don't pay per night, it's per hour and you have to pay every time you come and go. The elevators are really really small and can maby fit 3 people with their […] luggage. Neither of our remotes worked for our tv. The hairdryer is so hidden that I couldn't even find it until we were packing up to leave. They don't offer a continental breakfast of any kind. Their wifi is horrible so don't expect to get much done using that. There is a store under the 2nd parking garage so that's helpful but you don't have a fridge to put anything in. "Nice hotel, but a little smelly"
This hotel was an older one. The first thing I noticed when I checked in was the horrible smell in the lobby. It smelled like a dead mouse (multiplied by 1000). Very bad smell. However, our room was fine. It was decorated very cute and I liked everything about it. It smelled fine. Hopefully, the smell was just a temporary thing. Given the age of the hotel the condition of the rooms are okay. Elevators are rough, exercise room is tiny, Interent service is slooooooowwww. The room had an adjoining room which had some folks talking, having […] a good time but sounded like they were literally in my room. I like to stay in non-chain hotels and historic or older hotels with charm. The Mayfair was a disappointment. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk. I waited for a few minutes and then began to walk around looking for someone and then began to call out, "hello, anyone here?" After I walked around, someone finally appeared. Checkout, though […] I had prepaid through Expedia, took way too long. The room was spacious and clean but the furnishings old and worn. The room was dark, the TV fuzzy, and the phone didn't work. I called for a wake-up call and the next morning when the wake-up call came, I couldn't get it to stop. Picking up the phone did not stop the ringing. I will say that one of the staff came up and knocked on the door to make sure I was up, which was very nice. I reported the phone problem to him. The front desk was manned when we left and the clerk was very nice and helpful. The hotel has no restaurant, bar, breakfast room, etc. I won't stay at the Mayfair again..
