"My family and I will stay here again!!!!"
This was our first visit to Galveston and we were really torn on places to stay. I am so glad we decided on the Tremont. The hotel is beautiful and just the right size! The staff helped us with directions all over Galveston!Genuine Expedia guest review
A beautiful property with charm and a nice ambience. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Close to most anything in Galveston and in a more grown up area of downtown than the beach area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I would recommend"
I don't know if you will find a nicer hotel in Galveston. The valet service was very helpful. They take your car and bring it back the next morning cooled off and no walking around the area alone. I think Europeans would love this hotel. It has history but has been tastefully refurbished. The customer service was amazingly superb. Coffee was nice from […] the cafe. Don't know if I'd like a baby crawling on the floors-the housekeeping could have been better. The beds were luxurious. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"On the strand where I like to stay."
I love this hotel and I stayed there before, this stay was unpleasant due to the condition of the room. The blinds were torn up and behind the ugly blinds was a terrible view of a fire escape. The bathroom floor was full of someone else's hair. Doormen were very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Love this place! Most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and I return as often as possible. Convenient to restaurants, shopping and the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was great the people are very kind. The only one that seem to be out of sorts was the bartender not real friendly, maybe needed more help or something almost rude.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a great hotel.....beautifully put together. Examples are 2" doors, premium red oak floors, beautiful bathroom tile, etc. There was an excellent woman singer and pianist on Friday night. Chris in the cafe took excellent care of us. Elegantly put together with super service from the staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
""A hotel with problems but potential""
In 308, the armoire for the TV had not been dusted since it was placed in the room. Are the pillows really made of concrete? The bath room floor had pubic hair of previous occupants, plus bits of toilet paper, plus other obscenities. The bath room counter top was years over-due for replacement. The carpet was filthy. NONE of this bothered me as much […] as the poorly run small dining area. During rush hours, there was always one unoccupied tabIe with a "Reserved" sign. While customers went unseated, we were informed that the empty table was reserved for the owner who appears at his/her whim. The kitchen staff had no concept of food preparation in a timely fashion. For the positives: The piano player/singer was outstanding. The receptionists were cordial and accommodating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Would prefer a room away from the courtyards and open to the first floor...was too noisy,Genuine Expedia guest review
A nice hotel with a lot of history. Breakfast was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and accommodating.Genuine Expedia guest review
Went to Galveston Island on a whim over the Memorial Day holiday, and the only way we could have been more satisfied would have been if it was a less expensive rack rate. Nice hotel bar, close to many different entertainment locales, helpful staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Upgraded to a suite when engaged"
The only thing we didn't find pleasant was our bed. We were upgraded to a suite after our first night and the beds in both rooms were Very firm. Other than that or stay was wonderful we will definitely be going back. We were surprised and and delighted to learn that we were welcome to use facilities at The Galveze which is a "sister hotel" of the Tremomt. […] Their rooftop bar has an aleight view, nothing to write home about though. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nicely renovated hotel near Strand/Cruise Terminal"
The hotel itself is in great condition with nice sized rooms featuring vaulted ceilings and large windows. It's located right near the cruise ship terminals in the Strand district, which is the historic downtown area and features a fair number of restaurants and shops. The only downside from our perspective was that it was a bit of a ways from the Seawall/Ocean […] and the greater surrounding neighborhood can be a bit sketchy on a block-by-block basis. "Not as great as other reviews"
We were expecting much from this 4 star hotel. First thing I notice when we got into our room is a few hair on the bathroom floor... that's ok, maybe they just missed it. Everything else was good. Our problem is the next morning, at 9 AM when we were still in sleep, someone banged on the door shouting 'engineering!', then opened our door! At that point […] I rushed to the door and the person said, 'oh I'm sorry I didn't know there's someone in here' which of course, woke up our 2 year old daughter and started our awful with her lack of sleep. I do acknowledge that we forgot to put out the 'quiet' sign, but really, how hard is it for a 4 star hotel staff to figure out which is occupied and which is not?! They shouldn't have entered! To make it worse, when we mentioned this to the reception desk when we checked out, she gave us such a cold 'I'm sorry' response, with no explanation, no emotion whatsoever, and just monotone. We were so disappointed at the attitude. I know others rave about this hotel, guess it just didn't work our for us. It was an overall disappearing experience, especially given it's a 4 star hotel. "It was okay."
It is a nice place, quite fancy. Our room looked out over the elevator and was right by the service station where the maid carts sat outside our room all night. It was a long room and from the bed the tv was about 30 feet away. The ceiling was high and the room never did cool down much. The front desk did not apologize just informed us that they knew […] of the AC problem beforehand. Breakfast was good for 40 bucks, We'd rather stay at the Galvez where you are waited on. We won't be here again. Now we can say been there, done that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place for a quick, romantic getaway"
Great hotel for a quick, romantic getaway. Rooftop bar offers a wonderful view of Galveston and the sunset and provides a perfect place to relax with a drink and a good book midweek in the off season. Selection of good restaurants is within walking distance, as is the Strand and the tall ship Elissa.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Hotel great service"
The staff was very helpful. The hotel is super clean and at a great rate.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very disappointed in hotel management or front desk for disregard of the importance of finding our keys left in our room for us 30 minutes after we left. I was told it may be Monday before we heard back from hotel. totally unacceptable since we had just left 30 minutes earlier at this was Saturday at 2:30. I told them where to look to find them and […] it still took four phone calls and being left on hold for 20 minutes after my wife had gone through ever piece of luggage we had over a stressful 2 hours waiting for some word back from our calls. "Beautiful heritage hotel"
Gorgeous in the heart of historic Galveston. Ultra high ceilings, great design and decor. On site dining ok, many restaurants in surrounding area, but also many closed businesses and some sketchy characters. If fully restored the area would be a great tourist place, as is, there were too many boarded buildings, a trolley ride that has been closed since […] 2008 because of a some hurricane and never restored, and just a sense of not ready for prime time. Walking distance to port. No self parking, must use valet at $18 per night, but if parking for a cruise, you take your car to sister hotel, Hotel Galvez, and they valet it for you for free for duration of cruise. Shuttle goes back and forth between two and also to port and back. Would stay there again, but might try Hotel Galvez instead.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I went here for a nice getaway. The hotel had a romantic atmosphere. The Rooftop Bar had great drinks, amazing views, and superb ambiance. It is just one block off the strand. We loved the Tremount and will visit again.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was genuinely surprised at how nice this hotel was. This is Galveston, so I wasn't expecting much, but the hotel felt like something that belonged in Las Vegas, it's theme-oriented and even though the building is a hundred years old, it looks and feels brand new. I highly recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel—they found out it was our 20th anniversary and had a complementary bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in the room at check in. If you’re staying in Galveston, and not wanting to be on the beach, I’d highly recommend this hotel. The restaurants are better in this part of Galveston as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming historic hotel on the Strand"
My husband and I spent our anniversary there for a nice two night stay. This historic hotel was very comfortable and had been refurbished to please. The bed was comfortable and we had a room that faced the street. The hotel has two bars and music in the evenings. We also ventured to use the pool at the Hotel Galvez which you have access to as a guest […] of the Tremont. That was nice. Valet parking is a bit pricey so be prepared. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would stay here again. This hotel is unique with character. The staff was very friendly and gave us suggestions on places to eat and visit. "perfection of airy modern mixed with old charm"
We enjoyed this hotel to perfection. It has a feel of real luxury with wonderful lighting and high ceilings. Beautiful lobby, beautiful room but only queen size bed available. Parking is strange. You can park on the street overnight for free and need to be at the meter by 9 am to pay for the daytime portion of your parking. Nice affordable restaurants in walking distance and some shopping. Nice history and architecture.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location in the heart of downtown Galveston. Easy walk to shopping, dining and entertainment.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel"
The room and service were excellent. The location 1 block from the Strand is perfect. The only improvement I would ask for is to add some simpler breakfast items to the menu in the cafe, at least a simple eggs, bacon, toast plate. All current items are specialty items.Genuine Expedia guest review
A beautiful and comfortable hotel. The bed was comfortable and had lots of good soft pillows controllable air conditioning and nice lobby and bar. The feel of the decor is really nice and grand.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Order sheets and towels when you check in!"
Booked a suite for a Thursday night with three people planning on one person sleeping on the sleeper sofa. After dinner and drinks, we got back to the hotel to find no sheets for the sleeper sofa. Called down and waited and was delivered one sheet with holes in it! Yes, took a photo! We must be strange but we use a top sheet and a bottom sheet! We ordered […] a second sheet for the sofa while we put the holey sheet on the sofa. Finally got it and then discovered there were only two bath towels. So be sure to order your sheets and towels when you check in! The employees at the front desk, door/valet/bell, and bartender at the lobby bar are really nice and great at their jobs! "Beautiful historic hotel with modern amenities"
They have done a great job of keep the historic charm of the hotel while providing all the modern amenities you'd expect in a luxury hotel. "Very nice hotel overall"
The Tremont is such a nice hotel, with wonderful service and pretty rooms. The restaurant for breakfast is very abbreviated so I would not eat there next time, but there are plenty of other nice coffee shops and breakfast places nearby. One of the nicer places I have stayed. Super clean, wonderful decor, pleasant staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was in the center core with a window overlooking the bar area, it was very loud and did not make for a pleasant stay. A hotel should be more concerned with a guests ability to sleep when they want to not cater to a loud crowd in the barGenuine Expedia guest review
