"Convenient hotel near Miami Airport"
Reaching the hotel from the airport was quick and easy but the A/C in the shuttle bus did not work. Check in and check out were efficient and professional. The hotel was full of teenagers attending a baseball tournament and the lifts were constantly going up and down full at every floor and difficult to use. Second time staying in this hotel. First time was great, now I'm really disappointed, if it wasn't for the great golf view from the room, I would definitely say I wouldn't come back. Honestly, lobby was super crowded at noon when I got there took 30 minutes to get a room, where I had to upgrade to be able to get a room, otherwise I would've had to wait […] 3 hrs. Then had to wait another 20 minutes for an elevator. I actually considered taking the stairs.. Anyway, the room was nice, though since I had upgraded I thought I've been getting a suite like, well it looked the same. Bed was fine, great view, now at the time to take a shower having in mind I had already been there you figure you already know your way around the room, well it took me a good 20 minutes to figure out how to get the shower running from the top and not from the bottom. At the time of check out a good 30 more minutes, if not more, I had never waited so long to return a key, and not in line! in front of the front desk lady doing it. That really bothered me. So overall very disappointed, most likely not trying it again. Unless maybe it's offseason I honeslty felt the hotel was understaffed for the amount of ppl needing service. So much construction around the hotel it was wry hard to get to. Your basic room doesn't even include a fridge..... Nice hotel but restaurant was also very pricey. There were young boys running a muck all through the hotel and it took 10 minutes to get an elevator to go your room. Linen was luxurious, the pillows were so comfy and the bed was a dream to sleep in. The room was spotless, clean and up to date. Delicious Starbucks coffee was in the room also. Arrived Friday afternoon for a check in. Hotel staff was friendly and gave us a room on the 10th floor. We walked in the room and it smelled like mold. My wife and I had a miserable experience while traveling back from our honeymoon in St. Lucia which required an unexpected stay-over in Miami. After a quick explanation, the staff was so empathetic towards us. We were given a view upgrade in addition to Club Level access. It was so unexpected and appreciated in a time when we were so down. The staff is AMAZING!!! The rooms are alright, but the beds and pillows are so SO comfortable I dare you not to get a good night sleep. I had to wait about 10 mins, even though there were 2 clerks and only 1 person ahead of me. It was late at night. The clerk was not friendly, nor welcoming. "Great hotel near airport/massive rental car port."
I stayed at this hotel on my overnight layover while awaiting my honeymoon. I chose it because I wanted to splurge a little bit before leaving on our trip the next day. Only plus is it is right by the airport which is convenient and the beautiful golf course next to it. Issues: 1) Building seemed a little old and carpet too looked old. We saw the hotel in front of us when we exited the airport, but were not sure how to get to the entrance and ended up going in circles. 4) No convenient entrance way into the hotel from the parking structure. Coming from the airport, if you go straight into the parking structure, be prepared to drag your bags up and down stair cases and then down a long outside corridor, then finally into the hotel only to realize you then need to get into the elevator to get to the lobby. This hotel is VERY close to the airport and offered a free shuttle from MIA. The pick up was fast and friendly. "MIA Airport Hotel"
We stay at this hotel during our 2 nights business visit to Miami. As our clients are located right by the MIA airport, this is the main reason why we picked this airport hotel. We were disappointed. Firstly, we arrive by American Airlines out of Dallas but due to the weather at DFW, our flight was delayed and did not arrive till about 1 am in the morning. […] Upon our arrival at MIA airport as we could not find the hotel shuttle bus, we called the hotel but there was no answer. So, we ended up having to take the taxi and there was six of us, and lots of luggage, so that meant three taxis. Upon our arrival at the hotel, the reception told us they did not hear any phone ring depsite our several call. All of the courtesey phone booth right by the baggage claim area had a few hotel info and free phone extension but did not include this hotel. Any way, upon our arrival their main computor was turned off so we have to wait about 10-15 min before they re-boot the system and able to check us in. Room was beyond small. There was no refridgerator or any kind or refreshment in the room nor any cold water or snack. So, we have to go down start to fetch some ice from the ice machine in front of the exercise room as there is no ice maker on the floor we were. We were disappointed in this Sheraton and will not stay here again. There are plenty of good hotel in MIA airport hotel but we trust Sheraton / Starwood name, and we were wrong. Our flight arrived around 11pm and when i arrived at the airport, I called the hotel to pick me up. The shuttle took around 15mins to 30mins and it is free! It is less frequent than hotels like hilton or holiday inn. I saw three holiday inn shuttles passing by when I was waiting. "Never going back again"
To start with, they need to have proper curtains in the bedrooms. The curtains cover almost nothing and the light comes in early morning; can't sleep after 6 am. Toilets are awful; don't flush properly. Parking, self or valet, $15 per day; never mentioned during the reservation. Overall, did not like the hotel. The first room I was assigned had not been cleaned, towels on floor, bed unchanged and unmade. I had to drag my super heavy luggage back down to the front desk to request a new room. Then I had asked for a wake up call which I never received. Good thing the airline called me or I would have overslept. Also the carpet in the room I had appeared unclean.
