For a four-star rated hotel, the service was quite poorly. There was no wifi in the room (a paid extra which was not on the website), the room was not cleaned thoroughly (there was dust all over and we did not receive towels or toilet paper), our alarm clock was malfunctioned and there was no wake up call option, the pool was not as it seemed compared […] to the websites photos, there was no massage service as the website says (only inroom service and not directly managed by the hotel) and the top item was the ice maker was busted for the entire time we were there (we were told it was fixed multiple times). The only great items were that the location was great - it was right in the middle of everything - and the price was unbeatable. But, a four-star hotel? This hotel was not a four-star hotel. This was a decent property with exceptional staff. They went out of their way to help me. Nikitta accommodated a special room request and Michael at the Bell desk assisted with some local travel arrangements. The fitness center was well equipped for what I needed although a little warm. The restaurant has a fantastic M-F lunch buffet but the menu was […] otherwise very limited and a little pricey for the location. The property was clean and well maintained although the door jam around my entrance door was covered a bit with the remains of a plaster-type substance from some kind of repair. "Nice Hotel, Beware of GPS info!"
This is a nice hotel, located on the outskirts of a business park. Locating the hotel was a challenge. There is road construction in the area, so we were directed around a closure. We were brought into the parking lot to the back of the property. We were surprised and somewhat befuddled when the lady in the box announced that we had arrived at our destination […] at the back of an office tower. "Not worth the money"
Executive king looks like any other ordinary carp room with a bigger bed. We couldn't watch tv due to a problem with the cable. Maintenence came up to fix it, said they'd be right back and we didn't see them for the rest of the night. So we had no tv. You have to pay for Wi-Fi. And there's no snack vending machines (all I could find is pop) and the […] cafe and restaurants close at a certain time. So if you're hungry later At night you have to leave which is difficult since the roads in Detroit look like a human's circulatory system. It was a very clean room and the staff was extremely friendly but they obviously had a poor work ethic. Definitely not worth the $140 I spent on this room. While the brochure and online pics look great,the reality was something else indeed. The room's ceiling showed evidence of water leaks, complete with peeling paint and "Popcorn" ceiling bits. We were in the eight floor with our toddler. The room had a window that was at near floor level which opened inward and offered a convenient, unobstructed "Plummet […] to your Death" option for the child. "What a mess"
Within 10 min of getting to the first room, at midnight, I discovered that the air conditioning was broken. Instead of just offering a new room so I could get to sleep, the front desk was going to send up an engineer to check the unit. Then decide what to do. Oh by the way, it took 15-20 min for the front desk to answer. When moving to the next room, […] I noticed the floors looked as if they were infrequently cleaned, and vacuumed, very messy . The worst part , was that there was a toilet plunger sitting in the hall. How disgusting! The electrical outlets were shot. My iPhone and iPad failed to charge. This used to be a great hotel. "Very nice hotel, minimal complaints"
I stayed there for a Tigers game, and it is a very nice hotel. The only complaints I have are these: one of the light-bulbs in the bathroom was burnt out, so it made showering slightly difficult as the room was dimmer than it should be. I told the front desk about it when we checked out, and they seemed very concerned, but didn't specifically say that […] someone would fix it right away. Hopefully the next people staying in that room will have all light-bulbs working. The other thing I noticed was the door to the fitness center was propped open twice while we were staying there. After the first time, I called the front desk/guest services, asking if it was supposed to be propped open. They told me it wasn't, and said someone would be up there to fix it right away. I checked roughly 20 minutes after calling, and it was closed all the way and fixed. When we checked out in the morning, however, the door was still propped open. I expressed my concern to the front desk again, and they said they still weren't sure why it was propped open again. I think that the fitness center should have been monitored more closely. We stayed on the same floor as the fitness center, and it definitely made me uncomfortable, thinking that basically anybody could get in there, not just hotel guests. "Disappointed with room and service"
Hotel was "tired" looking in main areas and the room was in need of repair. Phone didn't work at all which made calling room service difficult. Room service took order at 11:50pm but then called 20 minutes later saying no cook was available anymore and offered cold sandwiches. 20 minutes later called back again saying they found someone...over an hour […] to get food. They did "comp" the food that was sent. Bathroom was not clean, makeup residue still on counter, hair on floor, stain/peeling on ceiling by shower. The room was pretty standard. It was obvious that housekeeping isn't as thorough (the bathroom needed a little work). The front desk service was good but the breakfast bar needed work.
