This is my second stay, had complaints for both stays. The hotel lobby looks beautiful and over all is a nice hotel. My complaints... They charge for both parking and internet. My first stay the hall way to my room was filthy, looked like the vacuum cleaner was dumped on the floor! It was the same way when I checked out the next day. My second stay […] I left my room and came back at 2pm to find my room hadn't been cleaned yet! When I asked the cleaning woman to clean my room she came in and gave me a clean towel and left. For what they charge the service should be impeccable. I certainly WILL NOT be staying here again. I frequent hotels for work often. I suggest either of the Marriott's in Stamford, for the same price with excellent service and better rooms. Read more

Stayed overnight heading to New York City. It is convenient just off 95 but nothing to recommend the area. Classic late 70's style Hilton that has been updated but needs more. Room was OK until we found the TV remote was missing; the shower head was loose and there was a coffee bag still in the machine from the guest before! The night staff were fine […] but the morning desk crew were all surly and miserable with no smile or eye contact; maybe too much fun the night before? My suggestion is to skip this one as there are plenty of other local options. Read more

I stay at the Hilton Stamford every few months for a night or two... you can always count on a great meal and wine, as well as excellent service, from the Front Desk to Room Service. This is what keeps bringing me back.

This hotel is only 45 minute away from NYC. I am driving to NYC from Boston, and stop at the hotel for a night and head into the NYC during the morning. The hotel is clean and what you can expect from a 4 star hotel. Price are reasonable.

Hotel and rooms were excellent. Beds are extremely comfortable. However both the direct-connect and wireless internet in the rooms are terrible. During most of the time there, it timed out due to traffic. In some instances at peak times when I needed it most, it would take 10-15 minutes just to get in (for each "send!") This is the fourth or fifth year that my husband and I have stayed here for the Holidays while visiting my family. I saw that the Sheraton had a comparable rate this year and also accepts pets, but we're familiar with the Hilton so we decided to stay here once again. I was unsure that maybe the management had changed due to the recent negative reviews, […] but can honestly say, I don't have any of the same complaints. We brought two small dogs with us and requested a room at the end of the hallway to reduce noise that would disgturb the dogs. The girls at the front were able to fulfill our request and were super nice. Maybe the room was slightly humid, but I'll blame that on the fact the windows in this hotel don't open. It's also winter so I'm glad the hotel didn't have that really dry New England air. I didn't see any peeling ceiling (as someone else mentioned). I'm not sure if anyone was staying on either side of us either, so I can't attest to the claims of thin walls either. Overall, nice stay and we will be back again next year. Read more

Great Hotel. Close to train station so New York City is only 45 minutes away and trains every 30 minutes. Free shauttle to the train station. Beautiful, Clean hotel with great service. One note stay out of little shop prices ridiculous $15.00 for 20 advil tablets.

We booked a room with 2 queen beds, but all they had left was a room with 2 double beds. The door handle was installed upside down. Nothing special about the hotel.

Overall great Hotel and would recommend to friends and family. However, the temperature in our room was extremely warm and the thermostat didn't allow you to adjust between heat and cool. We needed to call for a service engineer to switch it.

I was allowed early check-in and when I asked to pay for an upgrade they said the hotel would be packed for Thanksgiving. This hotel is very large. Nice lobby. Large Jewish conference that was very loud even past midnight in the lobby. Room was nice. Shower was terrible. Toliet ran at the most random times. Tub and toliet needs renovation. You heard […] everything that happenned in the hallways because there was an unusual large gap at the bottom of the door. Biggest problem - mother left her cell phone in the room. I called to ask them to check the room and hold it at the front desk and I would have my brother pick it up since I live in MD. The front desk attendent never called me back. I called 20 min later and he said that security didn't find a phone. I told him to check again because I knew it was there. Another 20 min goes by. No call. I call back and he gets irrate with me and says there is no phone. At that point I was already in NJ but willing to turn back around because I felt someone was trying to steal the iPhone. He yelled at me and hung up. I called and someone else answered. A friendly gentleman who went to check himself and found the phone. Moral of story: they need to work on customer service. Read more

From the time of arrival, when someone promptly picked up our carfor overnight parking, to the next day when our auto arrived in less than 10 minutes after requesting it, the service all around was excellent.
