"W S.F."
found the amenities in the hotel lacking
"W Hotel San Francisco"
Loved everything about this hotel. The city view from our room on the 26th floor was amazing. The hotel service was stellar and the complimentary car service was very convenient. The hotel location is great, plenty to see and do in walking distance.
"Good location"
The W is located a few blocks from Union Square, closer to Moscone but is within easy walking distance to Market Street and Chinatown. This made it easy to get around the city without being in the midst of the dense congestion. The rooms are clean and modern, not palatial (remember this is the city, not a beach resort), but of adequate size. I would […] definately stay again. Read more

"Perfect location, popular bar downstairs"
Perfect location (easy to walk to Union Square), popular bar downstairs, classic W style.
"Outstanding time in SFO"
The W Hotel was a perfect place to stay. The staff was outstanding and enjoyed Trace, their restrauant on a rainy evening.
"W hotel SF"
Great customer service. Very nice people. Cora you are great!
"Centrally Located SF Hotel"
Nice hotel - room was very cozy. Only issue was the pressure of shower head (pretty disappointing). But besides that great place to stay! Near everything and pretty comfortable stay.

"W Hotel S. F. -close to shopping- great bar scene"
Very accommodating hotel. Nice location; great bar scene.
"Nice hotel but expensive"
Pretty nice room and good location. Modern decor and vibrant bar scene in lobby. But a few cons: Charge $15 for wifi per day. No coffee machine in the room. Weak water pressure in shower. Decent fitness room and pool. Hot tub way too small (maybe fit 3 people) for a hotel this size. Overall expected more for the price paid. Probably are better options […] in the surrounding area. "Nice stay"
Overall a good stay. The check in took a bit long (we were in a rush). There was only one check in person and was taking a long time to check a guest in. Finally someone else came out of the back office to check us in. He did put us up on a much higher floor with a great view. The room was very nice with a reasonable size for a San Francisco city hotel. […] The bed was very comfortable, and there were some nice little unusual touches, like a pink Buddha accent lamp on an interesting bookshelf and plantation shutters on the windows. Valet parking was very expensive, so if you are lucky to find street parking or don't need to drive, do that. Read more
"AMAZING"
Best time ever...my friends and I were treated as queens! We could not complain about one thing. Wonderful service and a great deal for such a beautiful room!!!

"W Hotel San Francisco"
The W San Francisco is a very good hotel, but the price reflects more a need to be popular than value for money. The hotel was very Vegas, which is good and bad. The corner room was a bit 70s looking, and the bathroom was plain. A very good hotel, perhaps if I was younger I might find it cool and hip, but I felt it was kind of expensive for what I […] got. "Yet another great stay at the W"
We love the W hotel in San Francisco. We live in a suburb of San Francisco bay area and we often have "Staycations" up in the city. This is the second time in <6 months that we decided to stay at the W and every time we are pleasantly pleased

"Great place to stay"
Found the hotel on-line and feel I made the right choice for my staff and myself. Lovely property.

"Modern decor and excellent service"
I must admit that I appreciate a more "traditional" sense of decor when staying in an upscale hotel. For example, the glowing Buddha in my room lost its novelty early on in my stay. That being said, I still would not hesitate to stay here again because the service was, without question, outstanding. An excellent, excellent hotel property where the staff […] always went the extra mile. I look forward to going back soon. Read more

"Love The W!!!!!"
Great room! Super 'home-y" feeling to it, great view of the city with windows all across the wall and bathroom with PLANTATION SHUTTERS!!! Bathroom was seperated from the main room, and you walk into a hall first when coming into room which I loooveee. Super cute, great staff that was super friendly, bar was sheek and perfect for a night cap. Would […] stay here again in a heartbeat!!! Read more
"Nice Place To Stay"
I booked this hotel for myself and four co-workers. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Very upscale and the rooms were interesting and very well appointed. In the morning, I was taken to work in the hotels courtesy town car. I gave the driver a great tip. Overall, a great experience!
"amazing"
Loved the staff there specially the the Acura service. Asked for a late checkout, front desk did not hesitate to give it. Cool decor. Amazing lobby and bar. Would definitely stay again.
"Best Waiter I've had in a long time at W's Taste"
The W is always a fun hotel to stay in. They just revised the look of the lobby and the bar. But what was really amazing this time was the wait service at Taste, the W hotel's restaurant. Not only was the food amazing but the staff was incredible. Our waiter foresaw our every want and desire- including a second order of bacon. LOL
"WiFi"
This hotel is so terrific it was a surprise that there wasn't free wifi in the room. We had just come from a much less highly rated hotel in Berkely and, like all other hotels we have been in lately, wifi was provided.
"Nice Hotel, Rooms could be better kept"
I love this hotel and have stayed several times. The lobby is always bumping -- even on week nights. A very fun, modern atmosphere! I have started to notice the deterioration in the cleanliness of the rooms in my past few visits. The beside table was covered in dust, the iPhone doc didnt work, my bathroom had hair all over the floor near the hair dryer. […] Nothing earth shattering, but for a nice 4star hotel you expect a clean room. Read more

"Very nice but be aware"
This hotel is located right next to the fire department and there were alarms several times throughout the day and night. SF is a big city and you may be able to chalk it up to part of the city noise but for us it was a disturbance to our sleep and peace.

"W"
Ordered a King room, they gave me a room with Doubles. Checking in took way too long. Zero Water Pressure. On the plus side, the bar looked nice....
"Great Staff, Great Location"
I was impressed by each and every staff person with whom I spoke and took advantage of the "green" program as well. The location is PERFECT and this is certainly a hotel I look forward to visiting again soon.

"W Hotel in San Francisco"
One of the most comfortable and well appointed rooms I have stayed in for the price. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The food was excellent despite the remodle of their restaurant at the time.
"W Hotel in San Francisco"
We were staying on 24th floor and had a view of the Bay bridge. The room was cozy, however I wish the hotel had heavy curtains. It had white blinds and a white curtain, so we could not get complete darkness in the room (both me and my wife are sensitive to light). The shower did not have the greatest pressure. One of the bartenders was a complete […] a-hole and kept talking to a couple of women at the bar and ignoring me and my wife for a while. When were finally ready to order and asked him for a suggestion he said he would be right back and left. We got up and left as well. Everything else was great. The staff was courteous and helpful. The location is great. Read more
"disappointed"
you know, when wireless service is free at Starbucks, Vons Pavillions, public libraries, all cheap mini hotels like Best Western...WHY is the "W" charging $15 a day just to use the Internet?? This small detail in the mis-management of this hotel left a bitter taste on my tongue. it made me feel as if they are desperate for money, like the homeless begging […] for money in front of 7-eleven. Bad job guys. Read more
Had great time while spending a weekend get away during our stay in San Fransico. Just as I expected, just like other Ws I have stayed in other cities, this W Hotel in S.F. was very clean, modern furnished rooms. The staff were well trained and professional. the only thing was that, it was very noisy and crowed because of the bar in front of the lobby. […] too bad XYZ Restaurant was in middle of remodeling... "Beautiful hotel, but very thin walls"
This hotel is very beautiful. The rooms either have a view of the city (albeit you don't get blackout curtains), or a slightly bigger room. This is a nice hotel and they definitely charge the premium for the upkeep. Mind you, parking is EXPENSIVE! It'll add on another $53 just for parking for one night, plus you have to tip the valet. In the room are […] all sorts of amenities - a stocked mini fridge, board game, to even a glowing multi-colored figurine in the corner. The bed is absolutely heavenly! So are the down pillows. Service was decent as well, although once I called customer service and no one answered. So much for the "Whatever/Whenever" motto! Other than that, they are quite pleasant. Now onto the cons: For the price, I would expect there to be much less noise. However, I woke up every 10 minutes, WITH earplugs on, to someone flushing the toilet, closing the door, or talking at a normal level in the hallway as they passed. Also, one of the robes had lipstick on it. All in all, this hotel's lobby, room, and lounge are definitely gorgeous. However, I'd rather have a great night's sleep because I was super tired the next day! Read more
"A Pretty Nice Hotel"
Great location. That's why I chose it. Located directly next to the Museum of Modern Art. The Moscone Center is directly across the street and access to all the shops and restaurants on Market Street is just a short walk away. After I made the reservation, I called to upgrade to a "Spectacular" room, which I understood to be the same room except on […] the upper floors. I was willing to pay for the upgrade but it was offered for free. How nice! Thank you very much. Checking in, we drove into the valet parking, around $57 for in and out service. We were told of a parking gargage 100 yards away that we could use for $30 a day with no in and outs. Perfect! We planned to walk and taxi about. Drive through their valet entrance and right over to the garage. Simple. Checking in, I was behind one other group who seemed to take forever, about 10 minutes. There was only one check in person with another trainee who couldn't check me in herself. The lobby is acutally the lounge as you walk in and off to the side in the back is the front desk. Rather small for a large hotel. Apparently, they were remodeling the front desk area and this was temporary. They were also remodeling the XYZ Retaurant. Bummer. I wanted to eat there. Lobby area: Overall, nice decor, modern and contemporary. Nice lighting, full bar, fireplace, wall texture... All very well designed. Nice contemporary music playing through a respectable sound system. The ceiling lighting in the vestible was stunning, a diamond shaped design with indirect lighting which made it shine like a diamond. Elevators and elevator lobby were very nice - mirrored walls and a 3-D image of cherry blossoms. Elevators smelled nice and were fast and smooth. Took only moments to rise 30 floors. The room was small. The bath was large. As a designer, I think I would have allotted more space to the room. Everything was very simple in design. Plantation shutters on windows. Good lighting. Nice bed, very comfortable and clean. Nice flatscreen Read more
"Remodeling"
Overall I love the W chain of hotels and I've had great experience at the San Francisco W previously. Unfortunately they are in the midst are remodeling the restaurant and the lobby area which severely effect our the stay at the hotel from a convenience and comfort standpoint. Kris
"Nice hotel ruined by awful service"
Great location, nice facilities, but the service is sub-par. Took over an hour at one point to get to talk to a concierge for a recommendation on where to go to dinner, the maid neglected to leave the room service order card all three nights we were there. At one point we heard the maintenance supervisor sarcastically berating another guest for calling […] him up because she couldn't figure out how to turn off an accent light. He asked her "Do you need me to show you how to use the shower?" before he left, so loudly we could hear it clearly through our closed door. Read more
