The hotel is wonderful. The only suggestion I would have is having a place where people, who don't want a large breakfast, could go and get coffee and a danish in the morning.

We had a very nice stay, though short at the hotel. We did not take advantage of all the wonderful facilities the hotel as we were short on time and were touring Rome. The location was wonderful and many other restaurants outside to go to as well as shops.For the two of us it was a nice respit to come home to after an exhausting day of walking.

I could not get the phone to work. I tried for 30 min to make a request for a wake up call. When I got through, I was told that I was wrong; that the problem was me. All I know is that the buttons on the phone which said "front desk" and "reception" did not work to connect me to reception.

We booked the Sofitel for our honeymoon and were expecting a lot more for a 5- star hotel. The staff was very pleasant. But the rooms were small, dungy and bathrooms can't even fit more than one person at a time. We were on our honeymoon and they did not do anything to make us feel special or like newlyweds. They had strawberries and champagne waiting for us in our room, upgraded us to a room with a terrace overlooking the main strip. Just a completely different experience- an experience we were expecting at Sofitel but did not receive. Just the simple gesture of having a card and champagne in our room made our stay at the other hotel that much better. Just disappointing for the amount of money we paid each night. Though the room was very pretty, on the whole a disappointing stay. First of all, if you are going to stay here definitely get the rate with breakfast- it is 30 euro for a continental breakfast seems excessive! But beyond that, considering the hotel was 5 star, we were VERY underwhelmed with what we generally rely on with regards to concierge services […] when we are traveling internationally. For example, prior to arrival I had emailed the concierge about a dinner reservation (specifically asking for a local restaurant) and also possibly a pedicure the following day. His only response was a reservation at the hotel restaurant & I never heard anything about the pedicure. Then upon arrival we asked about a restaurant for lunch. The concierge said she'd look into it for us because many places were closed since it is late August. A few hours later she sent us to a restaurant a 15 minute walk from the hotel in 95degree heat- and it was closed. Still assuming the concierge staff was 4/5 star level, later that day we asked about a dinner reservation. The concierge said she'd take care of it and she took our phone number saying she'd call or text us with the arrangements. We never heard from her at all (even to say the restaurants she knew were closed), so basically we were on our own. Other minor points: Fitness center: a treadmaster and an elliptical, 1 pair of barbells. Internet- very annoying. Described as internet is included, BUT it is only one device -24euro a day for the 2nd. Read more

Tasteful elegant decor and eager desk staff make the Sofitel Borghese an inviting hotel. The views from the lovely rooftop lounge/restaurant are magnificent. The fare is expensive but good.The less formal downstairs space dedicated to breakfast is also tasteful and pleasant. Situated on a hill, the hotel necesitates a steep walk from many locations.Though […] tiny with only three machines, the fitness center is outfitted with up to date equipment and we were able to use it each morning. The large screen Mac computers available in the well appointed lobby are extremely convenient. The closet is surprisingly small for such a luxurious hotel; we had to find creative ways to hang clothes elsewhere in the room. However, the only significant detractor of this otherwise superior hotel was this: the breakfast swindle (see below). BEWARE: do not accept the offered poured orange juice at the table in the breakfast restaurant if you are getting the 30 euro buffet, which includes the same juice. Outrageously, you will be charged 7 additional euro for that juice. Worse, when ordering breakfast to our room, they AUTOMATICALLY sent us each a continental breakfast (in addition to the a la carte which we ordered). We were told that unless we say we DON'T want the contintental breakfast, it is sent, and they refused to remove the additional charge of 30 euro per person. We will be contesting this charge. It is a shame that an otherwise wonderful hotel left such a bad taste in our mouths. Read more

The hotel also arranged for a car service to the airport which was less expensive and more comfortable than a cab. As always, there is a french influence in this hotel line and the decorating as well as the design is perfection. The dinner that evening was based on the recommendation of the concierge, by far it was on all accounts the worst meal my wife and I have ever had. The internet is free but only to one device.. it is a hassel because if you are having problems, they become somewhat reluctant to help you. The terrace caffe in the hotel has a wonderfull view but a slow kitchen service, dont go there if you are hungry.

Stayed at the Boscolo Palace in the same neighborhood, which was great boutique hotel with amazing views from balconies for less money. Thought I would try another property in the area...big mistake. Front desk or anyone at the hotel did not want to acknowledge that my partner and I were a same sex male couple. We noted on their system that we were celebrating our 20 year anniversary and still no acknowledgment. Front desk agent asked if we had two separate rooms during check in...which was very insulting. Service was terrible at the rooftop restaurant. No acknowledgement whatsoever. We we sat down ourselves and eventually had to fetch the server. Female manager came to clean our table and never asked to replenish our wine or if there was anything else we needed. Very rude and cold and had no training about the proper steps to service and standards. Very disappointing for a Sofitel property. Last summer my partner and I celebrated our Birthdays at the Boscolo Palace and the staff was amazing. They even sent a beautiful heart shaped cake to our room. Nothing was too much trouble while the location was close to many sights while also quiet. We arrived at the hotel kind of early (8am) and even though the official check-in time is not until 2pm,the staff was so amazing and allowed us to check-in early.The luxury room was very spacious with a small balcony with a great view of Rome.The bathroom is equally luxurious and comes with premium amenities and a beautiful bathtub and a rain shower that I absolutely loved.Throughout our stay,from check-in to check-out,the hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful.They went out of their way to make sure that our stay was comfortable and fun.Everyone was always smiling and ready to help us..whether it was getting a Taxi or arranging for a pick-up for the parents from the airport,they were glad to arrange everything.
