There was no shuttle so we had to pay for 15 persons with luggage to get to the hotel. The receptionist was friendly and efficiency with our check in package ready in less than 2 minutes. The automatic door to the breakfast area however slammed on myself and a few other persons in my group causing bodily harm. This needs to be checked out. This is a […] safety issue. This is a good place to stay if you're forced to spend the night near the airport due to waiting for a flight the next day. At first, from the outside, you see a two story motel and think "Oh, no". I recently stayed at the Riande before leaving Panama. When I first checked in, I had good service at the front desk and was impressed with the look of the hotel. When directed to my room, it was extremely hot, and when I tried to talk to the hotel staff, they did not seem to understand my complaint. The small AC unit in the room took almost all night […] to cool the room down, resulting in a rough night's sleep that was further exasperated by a hotel alarm clock in the room that went off at 4am. On top of these issues, I also attempted to order Room Service which was another exercise in folly due to the language barrier. All in all, the hotel is nicely located next to the airport, and looks great - but I recommend being fluent in Spanish if you plan to stay there. Read more

We stayed one night, en route from the caribbean coast to Canada. We selected the hotel for its proximity to the international airport, and were concerned that it might be noisy but it was quite quiet. The deisgn of the lobby, pool area and public spaces and rooms is modern, clean, "zen". The reception staff were efficient and spoke some english, so […] I did not need to butcher the spanish language again. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, although a bit sterile - one would not call it cozy. The bathroom was beautifully decorated and appointed. Two problems with the room: 1) very poor light for reading. 2) no guide to which of the hundreds of TV stations one can actually receive. Very nice, really good updates and modernizations, very very comfy beds. We asked to be moved due to outside bar music and they accommodated us with a very quiet room. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room without a pool/pool bar view as the music is pretty loud. Passing through Panama City on the way to the cruise ship on Colon we only needed a clean place to stay. We picked this hotel because the price was comparable to other equally rated hotels AND they offered free shuttle service. Even late at night the shuttle was quick and efficient. Upon morning the beautiful resort was truly visible. Lovely plants, and decorations, inside and out. The pool was beautiful. Our room was CLEAN and cool and had nice sheets. Breakfast buffet was hot and with many options. It was above continental. The negatives - very little English spoken. Be prepared to use your bilingual skills. Although functioning the hot tub was NOT not. And the price. The amount charged for a 'deluxe king' (and only two doubles given on both rooms we had) was more than I thought The resort worthy, particularly for 12 hours. With the hotel being around the corner from the airport and the airport recommending this hotel, how could I go wrong! The hotel was perfect! You receive free breakfast every morning. The staff provided great customer service. The decor to the outside scenery was beautiful! The food was great. However, there was a language barrier, which caused delays with our food. Either way, it was great learning a little spanish, as we taught a little english. The hotel provides shuttle service to downtown Panama for $23 dollars round trip. We went to the Panama Canal, old and new Panama. An excellent tour. I completely recommend this hotel!! The hotel has recently finished a major upgrade. The accomidations are very attractive, the food good, and the pool great. There has been a considerable upgrading of staff training, and everyone is accomidating and helpful. Providing you don't mind the price, this is the preferred place to stay just before or after an international airline flight.

The hotel is very close to the airport and the fact that a shuttle is provided makes it quite convenient for an someone just overnighting in Panama City. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvement that has taken place over the last year. I would certainly stay again and would recommend it for an overnighter.

Airport shuttle every thirty minutes (hour and half hour) was super helpful with our early flight. Free wi-fi (spotty coverage at times) and a good business center. Pool is lovely and poolside snacks were reasonably priced. Awesome bed on a level with Westin's Heavenly Bed.

The whole hotel has been recently renovated. It's very attractive. Seems like they also sent the staff to a service course because they've kicked the quality of service up a notch. With the lovely pool, it's a great place to spend your first or last night in Panama very close to the airport.

Stayed at the Riande for one night before flying out of Toucmen and it was a wonderful experience. Reception staff were excellent and friendly, spoke fluent English, was upgraded without asking to a king bed and pool view room (no. 259). Hotel has recently been upgraded and is definately at the top end of the 3 stars. Amazing shower which was much appreciated […] after 7 days on a boat with limited water. Firm bed with modern funky decor. Free bus to airport (5mins) which left spot on schedule. Unfortunately missed breakfast (from 6:30am) due to early flight but dinner was good. Would highly recommend for a hassle free journey to the airport as traffic in Panama city can be very heavy at rush hours (1 hour+ from Allbrook to Toucmen). I have stayed at this hotel numerous times as a stopover on long international trips from the northeast US to Brazil. The hotel is improving rapidly. Although it is still undergoing a major renovation as of late October 2011, it looks like the work is going fairly well. It looks like the hotel will have accomplished a major upgrade by the end of 2012. The […] staff at the front desk are getting better each trip. The support staff can seem a little sullen at first, but they warm up if you treat them with respect. The restaurant is decent, and it looks like they are aiming for a major upgrade there.
