Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

comfy bed, nice bathroom, great staff at front desk, wireless access easy, computer in Lobby new and rapid. Parking garage reasonable rate. Great spot nearby:EatIly--check it out for restaurants and goodies to bring home. Only improvement that could be made is quality of towels.

It was a nice stay. Only complaints are the size of the double bed rooms and the internet was very off/on. Other than that it was an excellent stay.
Designed by Philippe Starck, the Paramount's buzz-worthy lobby is itself quite a showpiece, with soaring ceilings and a huge, donut-shaped chandelier dripping with crystals. An eye-catching asymmetrical silver-leaf staircase leads to the Mezzanine Restaurant. The newly restyled Paramount Bar, a see-and-be-seen hotspot, features golden Murano glass fixtures, scarlet-velvet banquettes, and a rotating roster of DJs. For a quieter option, you can sip a cocktail and plan your next day's adventures in the plush Library Bar. Or pick up a gourmet to-go meal from a branch of New York's famous Dean & DeLuca, off the lobby. Just want to kick back and relax? Room service is available early morning till late evening.
Kick it up a notch in the hotel's fitness center, where you'll find state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, as well as several TVs. Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. […] Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks. Read more

Bed was made, but the trash had not been emptied, carpet not swept, no fresh soap. Room was exceptionally small. Called front desk to report room condition, and could not get through. Went downstairs and told them I tried to call. The answer was we have been busy - too busy to answer the telephone.
"Exceeded my expectations"
I loved the Paramount! Located literally 1 block off of Times Square, I was very close to tour buses and subways. Upon arrival, I felt very welcomed and check-in was super fast. I read so many reviews about small rooms, that I actually held my breath upon entering my "queen" room. Amazing! 2 huge windows made the room feel very open (blackout curtains […] were included and used when sleeping). The space is set up so efficiently, TV mounted on the wall, lighting above the bed and very modern. The air worked great and made the room very comfortable. The bed and bedding was comfortable. The bathroom was a great use of space as well, shelves mounted on the walls, and a space for towels behind the mirror. I had plenty of hot water and great water pressure and a full length mirror behind the bathroom door. At night, I had a great view of the lights from Times Square, but the room was quiet. Elevators were fast, never had to wait. My trip was just as a tourist, so I was only in the room to sleep and shower, but the Paramount exceeded my expectations. "Not a 4 star hotel"
The suite with sleeper sofa reserved was "out of order" when we arrived at midnight after a full day of travel, so we were "upgraded" to the entertinment suite that only had one bed for the 4 people I reserved accomidations for. Our son & his wife shared a twin roll away because that was all the hotel could offer. The suite had stained carpet and very […] "tired" furnishings. We had to move our bags to the lobby early the next dayand where bothered by housekeeping to do so because they couldn't relocated us in the suite we had reserved until after 3:00... then moved again to the standard Queen room for our last night which was unbelievably small and spartan. Over three nights, we had to call in requests for sheets(none on the sleeper sofa), ice buckets, glasses, and a blanket..of course tipping each staff member that brought what should have been in the room to begin with.With all of the moving, I never did unpack. I would never recommend this property... there are plenty of others in this price range. Nice staff... not well managed...really awful bathrooms and not well kept. Read more

It is in a good location for plays and Times Square. But the service was terrible. It took two days and many complaints from me to have my telephone fixed. It took 6 hours to get hand towels. The air conditioning is very noisy, etc.

I had seen on previous reviews that the rooms were small but I was still surprised when I walked in the room and there was the bed one step away. The hotel did say at check in that it was the smallest size room with a full bed and that larger rooms with Queen beds were available for an additional fee. We were only there one night so definately not worth […] upgrading since we'd rather spend money outside the hotel seeing the city. We ordered the pricey room service for breakfast and plus another pricey fee for parking overnight and tax (yes, there's tax on parking) ! They did let us keep our car parked there for a full 24 hours which made it a bit better. Needless to say we ended up spending a lot more than anticipated but it is NYC and the hotel's location is awesome! You can walk to the center of Times SQ. in less than a minute and it's in walking distance to so many great restaurants and bus tours. For the price and location, it's worth dealing with the tiny rooms if you'll be out of the room most the time anyway! Read more

Our family went to NYC to see a show and booked this hotel because the location was great-within walking distance of the theatre, great restaurants, and sight-seeing venues. However, other than the location, I would not recommend this hotel. We were told it was recently renovated, but that was not apparent to us. The room smelled musty and was extremely […] small. Overall, it didn't seem clean. Even the elevators were dilapidated--one that we rode in had an entire panel missing and splintered wood exposed. Worst of all, it was not price-friendly either. this is one of my three regular places when i work late and need a comfortable, clean, BUG FREE place to crash. i have stayed here now dozens of times. i have not yet had a bad night. the petite rooms are super-tiny, but still comfortable and the bathrooms are ALL full sized and clean as can be. the staff are wonderful, friendly. the bar downstairs […] is hot. 24 hr gym. i could go on. when i am going to stay in the city and all of my favs are available this is the one i choose. oh and the beds are the most comfortable of all the nyc hotels i have stayed in and i have stayed in plenty. This hotel is not very business friendly. The rooms are very small, zero workspace and the walls are paper thin. I thought I was staying at a 4 star hotel, well this was not the case. Let's just say I showered with my slippers on. Now, for a family on vacation, not bad.

Had a great stay with my 13 year-old triplets. No extra charge for the roll-away beds and they gave us a large room for a small premium. Great location and fun lobby.

Rooms are TINY. Take one step inside the room and you are at the bed. There are areas that have been spackled over but not re-painted. Shabby. I wouldn't stay here again.

We arrived at the hotel, had I not printed a picture of the hotel I would've never found it. There weren't any signs indicating what hotel it was. We had to valet our car that parking fair was not included in the hotel fees. When we entered the hotel it looked beautiful the decor was modern big and spacious lobby. We took the elevator to our room. When […] we entered I almost had anxiety attack, the room was the size of a sm walk in closet. We tried turning on the television which didnt work. We called down and they immediately sent someone up. They fixed the problem and went on their way. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. It has a double bed a tv and swivel chair. The room was so tiny that you could only walk around the perimeter of the bed and that was the whole room. We went down and asked if they had bigger rooms and they said no. i spent so much time trying to make sure that I chose the perfect hotel. I would think that I found one then I would get caught up in reading the opinions of other past guest of that hotel, and then thought that I may be making the wrong choice. I spent days doing this. The GREAT news is I went with one of my first choices. The Paramount Hotel was a […] great decision. From my first interaction with Natalie at the front desk to the driver who drove me on my departure date from the hotel to the airport was so much more than I expected. I never once had a negative thought or an issue come up that could have put a cloud over my what was a perfect visit. I arrived early, but was allowed the courtesy of an early check in. The buffet breakfast was an experience that you did not walk away from thinking I wish they would of had something they did not have. The staff was assertive, polite, and a pleasure to be greeted by first thing in the morning. If going to the theatre is something you plan on doing while in NY there is no better choice for you to decide to stay. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about my visit at the The Paramount. I am actually booking another stay in late May at The Paramount. Do not do what I did and waste your time going back and fourth it will eventually drive you crazy, and make everything a blur. "Great place except NO CABLE"
My only complaint - and it's a very small one - is that the TV didn't work in that all that was available was promos for pay movies. When in NYC, I like to watch the local NYC channels, so normal cable service would be much appreciated. Other than that, it was GREAT, top notch!

"Old hotel trying to be hip"
Ok place but can do better. I was here on business and found my room lacking furniture - like a desk! Hallways are very dark and room was very sterile - like a vacant dorm room. Lobby and bar are nice but watch out they automatically add on tips.

The room was too small to almost turn around to scratch your head. It was clean but more than two nights staying there you would go crazy.
