"Great choice!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

"Good mid-price choice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
This is a good choice if North Vancouver is your destination. Lots of shopping and eating in the market below the hotel, which is also where the parking is located. The more upscale and higher priced rooms get you further out towards the water, which can be worth it in terms of quiet and view.
"2 nights in Vancouver."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

"Chateau Granville in Vancouver, BC"
Good price value based on location, room cleanliness, comfort and size. Lobby and hallways are dated. Would be nice to see the exterior power washed. Would stay again.
"great location to visit Vancouver's Yaleville"
Hotel is in great location to explore Vancouver's highlights including Yaleville and Granville Island. There are two buildings, a tower building and a second 3 story building, we were in the 3 story. The room was very nice and roomy but you had to access the building off an allley and the windows were all clouded glass so no natural sunlight. Front […] desk staff very helpful in checking out the city and allowed us to check in early. Would recommend the hotel but request the tower if possible. Read more
"Best Western plus"
They gave me a room that had no elevator access on the third floor of another building. It was very difficult to get hot water for a shower, very limited.
"Best Western Plus Chateau Granville"
I stay here every year in Jan - Feb and every year they are excellent. Good location, very nice rooms and just a great place to stay at a great price. Sincerely, Jorge
"Very nice!"
The best hotel I have ever stayed at of the Best Western chain of hotels, and I have visited a lot of them.
"Chateau Granville, Vancouver, B.C."
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past few years and always thought it was very noisy on the street side. This time, we were given a room in the courtyard behind the hotel which was peaceful and convenient. When we return to Vancouver for a visit, we will definitely request a room in the courtyard and we would recommend others who stay […] at this hotel to do the same. Read more

"Average hotel at best"
The rooms in this hotel were fairly nice and spacious. The place was adequate for the money. But the hotel needed a renovation. The rooms and furniture felt old, and the TVs were old style TVs, not flatscreens (these days that's really typical for more than bargain hotels). Also, our room was freezing cold on the first night of our stay. We had to set […] the heat to 90' in order to not be freezing under the covers. The second day the room warmed up, so it seemed like the heat had just been off for awhile, but it's just not satisfactory to have to stay in a room that's ice cold. Also, the wifi was pathetically bad - a real joke. It was so bad that we could barely check email or look up maps over wifi, let alone stream Netlfix or something. Basically our room had a good location on Granville and not a lot else to recommend it. Read more

"Best Western Plus Chateau Granville"
the court yard room provide me with no view and with frosted windows it felt like a dark closet...
We stayed one night in the hotel, as we were leaving the next day for a cruise. Great location within Vancouver, half hour walk to Port Vancouver, retail stores nearby.
This hotel did not have a pool at the site, it was 5 minutes away. It was difficult to get access to the stairwell at times. The room was good. The hotel is located in a very busy part of downtown.
"Not given all the facts"
Instead of having a room int he tower (which is all the hotel.com ad mentioned), we were given a third floor room in the 'courtyard', behind and across an alley. No view, no elevator and the TV was at 90 degree angle to the bed (the room was a good size). The surrounding area is convenient but a bit 'shady'. While checking out, an employee interrupted […] the desk worker with no apology or nod to us - RUDE! Does the hotel shunt all hotel.com users to this outbuilding rather than the tower? Read more

"Nice and convienient..."
We took a cruise to Alaska and boarded from Vancouver, i read the reveiws and was a little shaky on this hotel, but the hotel was GREAT! The staff was great, friendly and made us feel welcomed. We went the day after the Vancouver riots from the Hockey game and it was nice to see the city taking such quick action and getting things back in order. We […] saw some of the broken glass on the street and everyone kept apologizing for the few that got out of hand, there is a XXX store across the street, but if you head behind the building there is a very nice little shopping area that reminds me of Austin or Boulder Co. Very nice and everyone was great. I would definitely stay there again. Read more
"Hotel for cruise"
Overall a good experience. We stayed there for the night before our cruise. The room faced the road and was a little noisy but was still ok. For the price and location was a good value.
We had booked a queen size bed but it seemed very small for a queen ,more like a double. Very noisey.

"Courtyard rooms are dark"
This hotel is in a nice central location very near most downtown clubs. Our room was in the "Courtyard" section of the hotel, which is pretty quiet, but the window lets in very little light and in fact is frosted, as the building backs directly onto another building. This meant our room was quite dark, though generally quiet. Also the ventilation control knob […] in the room was missing so there was little circulation of air. Still, everything else was in order, clean and decently furnished. Read more

"Spacious Suite"
We stayed in the Towers 3rd floor for 2 nights. Gated underground parking is convenient and well priced for the area... The elevator takes you from the garage to your floor. It always stops at the lobby though..probably a security measure. We had 2 double beds in a separate room. The suite room was spacious with a sofa bed, chair, desk, TV. We had a […] coffee maker, micro and fridge as well. The separate bedroom has a TV as well. Front desk and concierge were all helpful. Rooms were quiet and bright..lots of windows. They do have blackout drapes as well. At first glance, the area is pubs, adult, tatoos etc but just walk to the next street or to where you want to go. A Market is across the way for soda, snacks, fruit, ketchup potato chips.etc. Would stay again.Wonderfully roomy for us, .2 adults and 2 teenage boys. Read more
"Best Western Plus Chateau Granville"
Should remove the "Plus" from their name. Motel 6 equivalent at best. $28 for 2 glasses of house wine. And 2-buck Chuck's tastes better than their gut wash. Tack on $14 for parking - what a rip off!
"Sighz,"
Being a poor college student means that I don't have a credit card that I can book this hotel with, meaning that after I paid the cost for the hotel, the left over small amount of money will pay for my food expenses while away from home. But after I checked in, my bank account went down to $0.0. Surprise, I went to all the ATMs in Downtown (they have […] one on EVERY street), and checked my balance. Yep 0.0. Apparently, they had put a "hold" on to my bank account, in case anything happened, therefore I wasn't able to eat or even leave the hotel the first day. Ok, I understand that procedure, but at check-in, I didn't see anywhere that say that they were going to do that. Even on Hotel.com, I notice that a deposit is required, but why would a deposit be required if I already paid for the room? I am still a college student, I haven't stayed at a lot of hotels, but the places that I've been to, they've never did anything like that to me. So I was taken completely by surprise. And when I called the front desk, they made it CLEAR that it was MY FAULT and they can't do anything about it. No customer service, what so ever. In addition to that, the toilet in my hotel room was broken. I couldn't flush it the first day at all. Like, seriously? And no windows? I llove the little area above the heater, where you can sit next to the window that I would HOPE to have a view, but nope, you can't open it. I am so disappointed. I was scared during my entire stay. "I'd stay at other hotels"
very outdated and dark.
"Right in the thick on the night clubs"
The room itself was good sized, reasonably updated, and comfortable. The building was older and the halls narrow, dark and dated. The hotel is right in the thick of the night club area so it can be a bit noisy in the evenings, and there are not shortage of seedy stores in the neighborhood. However, being right on Granville puts you pretty close to everything […] else that is downtown. Read more
"Best Western Chateau Granville"
We were extremely disappointed when we arrived at our queen standard room in the "Courtyard"--the room was miniscule, access to the Courtyard is through a backalley, and to top it off--the room had no window!!! We thought our vacation was doomed. Luckily we were able to upgrade to a King Suite which met all of our expectations. The experience was wonderful […] for the price we paid and the convenience of the location. Read more

"Superb location- no view"
The room was nice and the location was ideal. But you have to be really careful. We were supposed to have a view of the courtyard but when we got there our room has covered windows because they are 6 inches from the building next door. There is also a tower which would have a view so if you stay here, you want to call and verify. I would not ever stay […] again because I do want a view. If you don't care about a view, the hotel is 15 mn walkign distance to everything downtown. Read more
"The Best Western Chateau Granville,"
Be aware that courtyard rooms are not attached to the main building. One has to go through a scary alley to get to your stuffy (albeit clean) room. The courtyard is secure, getting there is not.
"Service"
People were cordial and very efficient.
"very happy"
Hotel was very conveniently located to a very interesting outsid emall area and just a few blocks from a major downtown indoor mall. Room was great with a nice view. THey don't have a fitness room onsite but they give you a free pass to a full service gym just down the street (2 minute walk). Very happy with hotel. Only concern is that their parking […] is confusing and I paid for the parking in order to get in the hotel before they gave me a parking pass. They couldn't refund my payment so I'm out a 20. "Granville Stay"
Our stay was very comfortable - just one night on our way to a cruise, but the hotel was close to amenities and transportation. Good restaurant downstairs. Drawbacks: some rooms are walk ups and some rooms do not have windows that open. Overall: Our stay was pleasant and we recommend this hotel to others.
"Best Western Chateau Granville - downtown"
The suite rooms were big for downtown. There was enough room for 5 people. Plenty of parking in the underground parking deck. Close to Yaletown for dining and nightlife.

"Location"
We really enjoyed our stay here with it's location near Yaletown and downtown. The Staff were especially welcoming. At the nearby 7 Eleven we purchased City Transit Day Passes and went "everywhere"! Great mini holiday.
"BW Chateau Granville - centrally located"
I travelled with my parents and my 8-month old daughter and we were pleased with the hotel and the staff. I called ahead to reserve a crib (it ended up being a Pack-N-Play) and it was in the room when we arrived. We also arrived before check-in time and the staff was able to safely store our luggage until we were able to check in (they did the same […] for when we checked out). We stayed in a suite in the "tower" section of the hotel and found it really spacious, although the pull-out bed had a thin mattress and was a bit uncomfortable. The beds were very comfortable though. The walls are pretty thin and we easily heard people in the halls and our (loud) neighbor one of the nights. The hotel is in the nightclub and slightly "seedy-er" part of town (a few adult stores around), but we felt completely safe, even with the baby. It's centrally located to many areas and is in walking distance to most places! We had no problem walking around Robson St., Yaletown, and even Gastown & Chinatown. We would absolutely stay there again. Read more

"Comfortable room, reasonable price"
The Best Western Chateau Granville is a high-rise hotel in a central downtown location. The rooms are simple, but clean and efficient. They contain nice amenities such as mini-refrigerators, microwave ovens, and coffee-makers. I found these appliances most useful during my stay. The neighborhood was a bit noisy due to refurbishing of Granville Street, […] but as I was on the 14th floor, it did not disturb my sleep. The hotel restaurant is over-priced, but there are a large number of alternative eateries nearby and on Davies Street. Read more
"great location for the price"
very convient to downtown
"Great location and price"
Hotel was in a good central location. The fridge and microwave were very convenient, as was the balcony. I would recommend this hotel to any casual traveler in Vancouver. It forces you to walk around the city that has different scenes on every block.
