I have stayed here for 5 nights. Overall it's a great hotel with a nice location. But being one of the leading hotels of the world I was very disappointed that they had only one staff serving the pool and ocean side area. We had to wait almost an hour each time for cold water or any other drinks. When asked, the waiter confirmed that he was the only […] person serving the entire area. Same applies to bell desk. In the morning they were 30min late when we requested the service a night before. They stated that they had only one bell guy for all morning check outs. We missed breakfast so we won't be late to airport. Overall the staff was great, food good but way overpriced. You rather eat by marina where they have lots of nice restaurants with more reasonable rates. Read more

A very nice hotel which ensured a most enjoyable stay, and although not cheap, I would thoroughly recommend if finances allow. Our room (junior suite) was quiet and well located within the complex, which is set out in the style of an Andalusian village with lovely gardens. Breakfast was excellent, and although we are both vegetarian, there was plenty […] to choose from. Cannot comment on the standard of other meals as we ate out at local restaurants in the evenings. We did use the hotel bar on two or three occasions, and as some reviewers have previously said, drinks are rather pricey. However, this is a 5* hotel and drinks are always expensive at 5* hotels the world over. The location was fine for us as we like walking, but be aware that the hotel is situated midway between Marbella and Puerto Banus. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to Marbella, and about the same to Puerto Banus in the opposite direction. Not a criticism from our point of view, but if you have mobility problems (or just hate walking), it may not be an ideal location for you. Read more

Excellent hotel. fab room and very welcoming friendly staff. I would visit again and recommend it. The only problems we encountered with this hotel was the time housekeeping chose to turn down the bed at night, they often came at 10pm which was too late as they assumed people would be out late and one occasion they knocked on the door at 11pm.

The location, mid way between Marbella and Puerto Banus, with gardens leading down to the beach, is faultless. Similarly, the staff are uniformally excellent. Service really is a strength. The breakfasts were included in our room rate and I can't recall better anywhere in the world. The rooms have a large amount of unappealing grey marble and hospital […] cream paint but they're kept pretty much spotless. Extras - E6 for a small bottle of water, E5.50 for a coffee and E20 for a hamburger - can be largely avoided. (We would use more if they were more reasonably priced and surely the extra volume would boost profits?) The slight ageing of the fittings and the cost of "extras" has not stopped us visiting three times, with future visits likely. Read more

This was my tenth visit to this hotel in the last 8 years, It is without doubt the best hotel in Marbella. Its standards are always of the highest level and consistant. The Staff are well trained, well presented and extremely pleasant and polite. The Puente Romano is by far not the cheapest hotel in the area, however the cliche " you get what you pay […] for " applies. The beach area and Suite del mer is getting better by the year, and the watersports are amazing, The only negative, was the new Japanese Restaurant. No Japanese Chef, Bland and cold soup. We had the Rabatta Grill Combo Platter for two. ( 40 Euros ) 2 Chicken Skewers, 2 prawn Skewers, 2 Lamb chops.......!!!!, Value NOT. The Beef Teryaki ( 38 Euros ) was small to say the least. And when we asked for the rice, it never came. I expressed our disappointment the the manager, but to no avail. My only advice to the management of that Restaurant, is to Book a Table at " Roberto's " the hotels signature restaurant and see what the customers of the Puente Romano are used to. Read more

The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful. We were given a very comforttable and spacious room.Staff were quite friendly, however the service was quite slow. Everything was way over-priced and there were not that many choices of restaurants and cafes nearby.. Overall I would not rate it as the best hotel in Marbella.

From arrival to leaving the reception staff were excellent as were the pool area service. We did feel it slightly unreasonable to queue for 30 minutes for a beach lounger & towel on the Sunday as well as there being no waiter service to the beach loungers when there was on the Saturday. Tout est excellent saut le mini bar excessivement cher : une bouteille d'eau plate de 33cl coute 6,50€, tandis que la même , chez Carrefour, que 0,53 €. mais c'est de toute évidence le prix à payer pour un 5 étoiles! Malgré ça, l'hôtel mérite le qualificatif d'excellence dans la plus huppée des stations balnéaires de l'Espagne.

We have been there 4 days in late October. Amazing territory with tropical trees everywhere, lots of blossoming flowers, friendly staff, delicious food. Small, but well equipped gym, sandy beach ... We recommend!

Een mooi hotel op een goede locatie. Via de boulevard kun je lopen naar Marbella en naar Puerto Banus. Prachtige gravel tennisbanen die je kunt huren voor 40 euro per uur. Het is wel erg duur in het hotel. Bijvoorbeeld een broodje hamburger of een clubsandwich bij het zwembad kost 20 euro en een blikje cola op de kamer ruim 6 euro. Het zwembad en […] beachclub was gesloten ivm renovatie. Heel jammer want op basis van die foto's selecteer je dit hotel. Beetje pech. Het tweede zwembad is een stuk kleiner en de bedden staan heel dicht op elkaar en heel veel schaduw door de palmbomen. Read more

Jeg synes ikke det stod til forventningen om et 5 stjerners hotell. Når vi skulle spise middag, ble vi servert feil mat begge kveldene vi var der. Personalet spurte ikke om maten var god og de ble nærmest sure når vi ikke skulle ha dessert osv. Det virket dessuten ganske uorganisert. Savnet smilet fra servitøren når vi skulle betale osv. Vaskepersonalet […] maste veldig om å få komme inn på rommet stadig vekk for å vaske og ordne. Jeg sa ifra kvelden før vi skulle reise at vi ikke trengte noe siden vi skulle reise neste dag. Likevel kom det beskjeder under døra 3 ganger om at de ville ha kontakt med oss for oppdatering av rommet. Jeg ble nærmest irritert av dette. De ønsket å sjekke minibaren også og da misforstod de hva vi hadde brukt av innholdet her også. Jeg synes også at vi betalte for mye i forhold til hva innholdet av rommet og utsikten rett mot hagen var ganske kjedelig. Hotellet var fullt av gjester så det var nok grunnen til det. Ved bassenget var det hygggelig, men han som skulle legge ut madrasser og håndkler var litt irritert og hadde ansvaret for strandsengene også, slik at det var ikke optimal service. Read more

Hotellet har en svært god beliggenhet og Marbella sentrum og Puerto Banus er kun minutter unna med bil/taxi. Det er også fullt mulig å gå/sykle langs strandpromenaden for å nå de samme sentrene. Vår leilighet var passe stor, hadde eget soverom og det meste vi kunne forlange, men det var en ting vi savnet; en kaffemaskin! Frokosten, buffet lunsjen […] og hotellets mange restauranter holder en meget høy standard, men det beste av alt var personellet som fikk oss til å føle oss svært velkomne - hele tiden. Alle tre bassengene var innbydende, men vi solte og badet mest på det nærmest stranden siden det var oppvarmet til 28 grader celsius. Read more

Overall zou het een opknapbeurt kunnen gebruiken, vooral de materialen bij de zwembaden zijn niet meer van deze tijd, zoals de verouderde ligbedden en de zéér verouderde parasols. Deze zou ik thuis weggooien. De gewone kamers zijn klein, wij hadden een junior- suite en […] deze was prima met weliswaar een onhandige indeling van kledingkasten en badkamer met douche in bad en geen afsluitbaar toilet! Geweldige restaurants voor ontbijt en lunch en een feeëriek, aan zee grenzend luxe restaurant (Roberto's). Zeer hoge prijzen, maar dat hoort wellicht bij 5* status. Rommet vi først fikk tildelt måtte skiftes til et annet etter første natt, pga. lekkasje. Greit, siden det neste var langt mer oppdatert interiørmessig. Deretter klaffet det meste! Været slo til for fullt og vi tilbragte fine dager i fred og ro ved bassengkanten og nøt det sjeldent vakre hageanlegget som skaper oasestemning og skjermer enhetene for […] hverandre. Fin frokostbuffet og absolutt bra middag i hotellets restaurant, den ene kvelden til levende orkester med piano. Synd det ikke var à la carte-meny i hotellets beach-restaurant. We had a nice stay. Hotel lies in a good area. You do need a car though. Marbella 5 min. by car and Puerto Banus the same. The food and beverage prices were totaly overpriced. 70 euro for a lunchbuffet p.p? Unbelievable. Club sandwich very expensive and no taste at all.
