Starbucks is right across the street - so having no coffee in the room is not that big of a deal. However, having to pay for internet is a problem for most of us. Most of us are connect 24/7 and having to pay for it was a bit much. I do recommend that you get the 30 day unlimited through T-mobile. It's the best deal, there are others for 10 hours or […] one day, but beleive me, you'll use the internet if you are searching for where to go eat, visit, etc. It's worth the 34,95 euro. We didn't eat at the hotel, you are just across the street from lots of great shopping and restuarants, the tram and down the street from the main train station. Overpriced -- especially for Mannheim. It probably would have been nicer if we had a view of the park. I stayed with my wife and daughter, and we had a "superior" double room. The Maritim Parkhotel is a recently remodeled, elegant old hotel on the main square in Mannheim. For conventions and business, the hotel couldn't be better located, with the convention center a block away and dozens of restaurants withing two or three blocks. Rooms are handsomely appointed and bedding and bathrooms are very comfortable. Breakfast, while […] expensive, is outstanding and a good value. Internet service was expensive for a very slow connection. Most seriously, even the "non-smoking" rooms smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. While I'm not usually very sensitive to smoke, my room was saturated to the point that I developed a cough, itchy eyes and had trouble sleeping. My clothes smelled of cigarettes all day after I had hung them in the room's closet overnight. The smoke wasn't just in my room. Several other conference attendees staying in different rooms on different floors in the hotel had the same experience and I noticed smoke multiple times when I visited my colleagues' rooms to work. Indeed, posters in the hotel lobby advertise the hotel to smokers as smoker-friendly. Unfortunately, that means that, despite the positives, any nonsmokers should look for other accommodations. This hotel is an old historical building with new renovation located within walking distance to everything in town. It is very clean with very comfortable beds. Hotel staff are friendly and responsive to requests. Definitely will stay there again next time.

Booked a King size double no smoking room after reading reviews. On arrival was given small single smoking room. I Complained at reception and was given a large comfortable no smoking room with good views. But why did I have to complain and not get the room I had asked & paid for?

We arrived late but still before midnight. The hotel booking was done through hotels.com, or Expedia. We booked 3 single rooms and once arrived the hotel told us only 2 rooms were available and we had no choice to share one of the room. Not really friendly service.

...Mannheims, auch wenn vor allem der Glanz vergangener Zeiten im Gebäude und der Innenausstattung steckt. Im Hotel ist alles einwandfrei, wie es sich für die 4 Sterne gehört. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß, die Minibar stets gut bestückt; ich persönlich ziehe eine Dusche der Badewanne vor, weswegen ich dann eben zum Duschen in der Badewanne stehe […] - bin ja aber auch noch jung genug über den Wannenrand ein- und auszusteigen. Das Personal ist freundlich und kompetent. Einen direkten Hotelzugang gibt es von der Tiefgarage aus; schade daß das verfügbare WiFi nicht einfach zum Standard gehört. Letzteres ist aber wohl ein eher gesamtdeutsches Problem; im Ausland hat man das bereits verstanden. Ich hatte nicht nur nichts zu meckern sondern fand's dort gut, denn wir hatten das Maritim zudem unerwartet preiswert gebucht. Read more

Das Hotel ist in einem erbärmlichen Gesamtzustand. Auf den Fluren und im Zimmer müffelte es. Die Zimmermöbel und -türen sind reif für den Sperrmüll. Der Empfangsbereich und die gastronomischen Einrichtungen hatten ihre gute Zeit wohl vor dreißig Jahren. Das Hotel hat allenfalls 3 Sterne verdient. Vi hade bokat 4 rum med 2 enkelsängar men när vi kom fram fick vi besked att det bara fanns rum med dubbelsängar. Personalen var mycket motvillig att hjälpa till och hävdade att vi bokat fel trots att stod klart och tydligt att vi bokat rum med enkelsängar.

Hotellet ligger helt centralt, og i alt fungerede helt ok. Restauranten var ved at lukke da vi var kommet på plads, men trods dette fik vi lov til at bestille og sidde i ro og mag og nyde god mad og velskænket fadøl. Standarden på værelset var ok - dog lidt slid i 'filten'.
