Easy to find, nice staff, good advice, excellent location. Just a little surprised to return to the hotel in the late evening to find it locked up. Reception staff should inform travelers of what to do at time of check-in.

My husband and I stayed here for a night on our recent 10 day trip to Ireland in March 2011. It was located right next to lots of shops, pubs, and things to see, however, the parking garage where they have discounted parking was quite a distance away and was not helpful for people with suitcases. The breakfast in the morning was nice and made the price […] worth it. The room was large and we had an extra twin bed in the room beside our queen sized bed. The beds weren't that comfortable but it was ok for one night. We definitely could hear other people in other rooms but it wasn't too bad. When we first checked in to this hotel we where extremly satisfied- the hotel is in a great location and is very modern and clean. The breakfast selection was good. But unfortunately we had a terrible expierence with a extremly loud and terrifying disturbance right outside our door at 4 a.m. that lasted for atleast half an hour- won't get into details […] of it, but we where extremely frightened- hearts pounding. After that was over someone came to our door inserted a key and started shaking the door, we literally could see the door shaking, thankfully we had it dead bolted. When we notified the hotel staff of this 2nd disturbance we where told they would look in to it, never where we notified that they checked and everything was ok- which would be the least they could do after such a horrible night. Needless to say we got very few hours of sleep that night, laying awake scared of what would happen next. We notifed the manager the next day who was kind enough about it, but said he needed to get more information about what happened from the night manager and would need to speak with his general manager. We have not yet heard from any hotel staff regarding this expierence. So I have to rate this hotel based of the expierence we did have, not the one we wish we would of- which ended up being terrible. I studied abroad at NUI in Galway. It had become my second home. I went back to visit all my friends there and choose the Imperial Hotel for its location. It was a great hotel and we had good view of Eyre Square. The room was large and it was very convenient that breakfast was served until almost noon. Hopefully, I will be going back yearly.

Food is expensive for what it is. Eg steak sandwich has to be seen to be believed. Bar staff - including manager/owner more interested in TV than customers. Breakfast is a two tiered bi located arrangement.

We went to Galway specifically for the Continental markets that are in Eyres Square..(Just at Christmas time) We had a fabulous time wandering around and seeing / tasting all the wares. The Galway people are charming and helpful.. Lots of singing and dancing in the local bars and plenty of nice stores for Christmas shopping. I was generally very happy with my stay at the Imperial. It's in the centre of Galway, so a very lively district, but my room was quiet with no noise from the street. Breakfast was included in the price and was very nice -- a good selection of cereals and bread, yogurt etc. Staff were pleasant. Maybe we picked the wrong weekend to stay in Galway as it was the weekend of the Irish Hurling grand final. This hotel is right in the main town square, so location great, but the noise on both Saturday and Sunday nights was deafening. It seemed like the whole city was partying in the square below right throughout the night. Nice hotel and big, clean room. Nothing spectacular but the bed was comfy and free breakfast was nice. People were very loud outside the hotel at night which was a little annoying but otherwise great location in Galway!

Efficient booking in, our room was ready for use. Tea/Coffee making facilities. Huge bathroom, very efficient shower. No view from windows - onto the yard. This hotel is ideally situated on Eyre Square. It is extremely well situated and very convenient. If you are travelling by bus and don't have a car this is the hotel for you. Service was good and breakfast was nice. Having the choice of an Irish breakfast would have been nice though.

The room was nice enough. No wi-fi in the room though and only about 3 tv channels. A full breakfast was advertised which turned out to mean continental. The bar/restaurant was very unappealing and uncomfortable with big TVs on all walls showing sport. The real problem was the noise. A very noisy fan meant I did not like to switch the light on in the […] toilet at night. Noisy pipes kept going all night. The walls were thin so I could hear others talking next door. Unfortunately when they made love at 3 in the morning their bed banged against the wall behind the head of my bed making everything shake.
