"4 Sterne Hotel eher 3 sind realistisch"
Dieses Hotel ist leider etwas abseits. Ohne Auto kommt man schlecht hin.

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We stayed at this hotel twice, going and returning for a trip further away. Wheeling cases from the roadway can be a bit of a chore. It is well outside Frankfurt, where there is another Frankfurt Moevenpick Hotel, but it appears fairly near a stop for a train in. We however didn’t use the train so I cannot comment on it. I have no idea how near Oberursel was, or whether it is worth visiting. The hotel was completely satisfactory for a stop-over. Like many other “one-night” hotels it only has an industrial supply of shower gel attached to the wall so you can’t steal it. The bar and restaurant are reasonable with some local drinks.
"Quality but not a lot of 'WOW.'"
11/19/14 Real-Insight Bellevue, Washington
This chain of hotels just executes well. Everything is done nicely with good quality food and facilities. The adaptations for international travelers are thought out. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Little extras like infused water in the lobby and coffee with cookies are a nice touch. The only detraction i have for this location is the distance from public transit - about a half mile hike if i remember correctly and the fact you walk away from staying here with not a lot of 'wow.' It could be the service - friendly but not engaging; it could be lack of personalization or follow up after staying... i can't put my finger on it, but i enjoyed the stay but don't ever think about going back. This is what differentiates an "excellent" vs. a "very good" NET: Stay here if in Oberursel, as there aren't too many options, but also stay at any Moevnpick and expect a well oiled hotel machine. However, if you are looking for memorable or distinct, role the dice and try a boutique hotel or pay a whole lot more at a top end location.
"Good hotel for business"

I had to travel through Frankfurt and was suggested this hotel as being close to the company I was visiting. The rooms are an acceptable size with a comfortable bed, wet room layout in the bathroom and a good sized Samsung TV (The perfect way to watch any TV or listen to music you've brought with you on a pen drive). Whilst I like a shower cubicle in the bathroom, I find the wet room design much better, as you don't get squeezed in and can luxuriate in the strong shower jet. The beds are comfortable, even though the duvets are a little light and fall off you when you move even slightly. The Movenpick does offer a number of nice touches, including a range of six different pillows (Neck support roller, neck supporting, cherry stone, spelt chaff, miller chaff and anti-allergenic.). They will also supply hot water bottles, gel eye masks and even a cuddly bear! Overall, I consider I had a good stay at the hotel and the staff were both efficient and friendly. I would stay there again, if I have to revisit.

I have had the decidedly mixed pleasure of spending 4 to 5 nights per week for the last 4 months at this hotel so feel well qualified to talk about all of its good and not so good points. Location If you’re looking for somewhere close to the bright lights, this is not the place for you. It’s in an industrial area, about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Oberursel, with an office block and a few industrial units in the immediate vicinity. Rooms and facilities I think tired and dated just about sums them up. There’s nothing wrong with them, just that the décor is somewhat uninspiring and in need of refreshing. Bathrooms can best be described as functional, the majority only having showers. I have a couple of issues with the bathrooms, firstly that they don’t provide soap, merely liquid from dispensers, which to my mind looks and feels cheap. Secondly the shower and bathroom are as one with a partial divider between the two areas and a tiled wet room floor. In some of the rooms the drainage on the floor doesn’t work well and you step out of the shower area to find that there is a large pool of water in front of the sink. The other points about the rooms are that they are often too warm for me. In summer, the air conditioning is reasonably effective, but that seems to be switched off by October leaving the rooms too hot even with the window opened. On the subject of windows, each room does have a large fully opening window that, should one wish, it would be easy to jump from. I had no intention of doing such a thing, but I would expect an hotel to limit the extent of window openings. There are two main room types, normal (Floors 1 – 3) and Superior (Floors 4 - 5). As far as I can see, the rooms themselves are identical, and the extra price for a superior room gets you a bathrobe, daily water and free Internet. Finally the gym is small, under-equipped and often too hot. Internet If the rooms feel like a trip back in time, just try the Internet connection. Basic paid wi-fi comes in at a whopping 512k with a more expensive 2MB option. However the big issue in some of the rooms is getting it to work. It is a lottery as to whether some, all or any of my devices will pick up a signal at any time, and when they do, sometimes the landing / log-in page fails to load so although the device is connected, you can’t get onto the internet. Even when you are on line, the system will require you to re-login periodically at random intervals. I have become intimately acquainted with all my network connectivity settings on phone, tablet and laptop as I’ve tried to get something on-line It does work more reliably in the bar area, but that isn’t ideal when you want to dash off a quick email early in the morning. Eating options This is one area where the hotel does do well. I can recite the bar menu off by heart and the offerings tend to be good, although the décor is a bit dated. Normally it isn’t very atmospheric, but I did watch Germany win the world cup in the bar and the place was jumping that evening. The restaurant itself is very good for an hotel with decent food at reasonable prices. They do themed specials every so often (variations on monkfish this month) and all the food there offers good value. Value for money At the discounted corporate rate that I’m on, it does offer reasonable value for money, but I couldn’t recommend it at the full rack rate compared to other similarly priced hotels in and around Frankfurt

We have stayed at this Hotel many times and have always had excellent rooms, service and food. A short taxi ride into Oberursel finds lots of great bars and reastaurants. One bar highly t reccomended by us is The Swan.
"Best hotel on our trip"

Stayed at this hotel for one night each way on our 3 city holiday with national holidays. This was by far the best hotel on the holiday. First class public areas, lovely bedrooms, great restaurant and lovely meals. What more can I say, other hotels on the holiday couldn't compete with this one. Only wish we could have stayed here for longer. Well done all staff and management.
"Best hotel on coach trip"

Just returned from coach trip to Prague, Budapest and Vienna and stayed in this hotel on the outward and return journey for one night only (wish it had been longer). The rooms are very spacious and bright with comfortable beds and a lovely toilet with wet room. The staff are very helpful in all areas and we had the most efficient service in the Restaurant and nicest food of any of the hotels we stayed in. It was a pleasure to stay here and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it very highly. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so comfortable.

"Minimalist, Dated, Yet Comfortable"

It is the one of those hotels that once considered modern got stuck there. The hotel offers basic amenities you would expect from a large European chain hotel. Everything you basically need is there, and no frills. What surprised me was finding Cubavision as part of the TV line up. CNN? Nope that would be a frill...
