We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

"Vincci Avalon Hotel in New York City"
My stay at the Vincci Avalon was more than I expected. The room was very clean, free wifi was available, and it worked well. The room was very comfortable and quite. The hotel is very close to the sights and shopping in New York. I would stay again.

We booked the junior suite which was very large for a NY hotel, and far below the price of comparable hotels. It had 2 beds plus a pull out couch that was actually comfortable. Plenty of room for 3 teenagers and 3 large suitcases. The hotel is very close to lots of great restaurants, the Empire State building and Herald Square Macy's. "Little Boutique Hotel in the Heart of the Big City"
The Vincci Avalon is a wonderful little hotel in the heart of the shopping district in Manhattan. It was close to all the shops on 5th avenue and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but just off the scene enough to offer a nice sanctuary for the weary tourist. "Ventilation at vincci is worst"
No ventilation fans at all in the room even the bathroom, so the stays in the room the whole time and if there is too much heat like had turned on fan it got only hotter and hotter. Since we have no option to control ac or the vent fan, I would not go there again

We even were given an unexpected upgrade! The room was nice, the hotel location is great, the dinning room/bar are also good and the staff was attentive. I would definitely stay here again!
"Okay for the price"
We chose this hotel based on a great price for a junior suite. We needed to valet the car, but there were no valets out front when we pulled up. The front desk staff were a little unprofessional (laughing at each other instead of speaking to me), but nothing too bad. The room was very spacious, but I agree with other reviews that said the furniture […] needs a fresh coat of paint. We also had a hard time getting the heat turned down, but we did not request any help on that. All in all though the room was fine. Our stay was enjoyable. We did have some problems at check out getting our car. We called 10 to 15 minutes before we came to the front desk, but we had to wait another 30 for our car which was pretty frustrating. This hotel is in a good location just far away enough from Times Square to get away from the throngs of people, but close enough to walk if you wanted. It is an older hotel and in need of a few updates, but for the price, you can't go wrong.

"in room refrigerator"
I moved 1 can of red bull to put in the outside Snapple I bought. In the morning I moved back the red bull to the area in the refirgerator I moved it from. When I went to check out I was billed for the red bull because they have automatic billing if you touch anything in the mini bar refrigerator. I was not told this upon check in and when I asked for […] a credit to my charge card, first they did it wrong and billed me a second time and they finally I got the proper credit. This was our first trip to NYC and we could not have been happier with the hotel. We stayed in the executive suite - which has a king bed with a separate sitting area with a pull out sofa. "Better Than What I Thought"
After reading reviews after reviews, I just booked my stay with VA...and loved it! People were great and helpful and the location was perfect. I had the JR Suite which was big and great for the price. The room was very clean (restrooms do need some type of vent)!

"Air condition did not work."
The rooms are big but no air conditioning since day one. Was not able to sleep peacefully as it was very very hot. Room temperature was 81 degrees daily to the extend we had to open the windows and neither could we sleep as the noise outside was un-bearable. The people in the counter was only concern on how much they can milk you and never bothered […] about you comfort as they would give you all type of explaination to justify they failure to give you AC. "Horrible mistake"
This was the second time I had stayed at the Avalon Vincci. My first stay was a step higher than the Thirty Thirty hotel I normally stay at. I work for a small company and the location is perfect for where my office is located when I'm in town on business. This time, however, the rose-covered glasses came off and I was able to see all of the inherent […] flaws in the hotel. The service desk upon checking in decided to move at a speed that would get any McDonald's employee fired on the spot. Having conversations while I'm waiting for my room key. Handling another customer while I'm waiting to sign. I wasn't exactly going to NY for a leisurely visit. I had a meeting I had to go to, this lack of any sense of urgency on her part was frustrating. Next, the elevator. Boy, do I hope you enjoy waiting seemingly forever for one of the slowest elevators I've ever had the displeasure of being on. That's a trivial complaint, but when coupled with the other failures of this hotel, they add up. The room quality. I specifically request a Queen bed for my Jr. Executive Suite. A queen bed I do not get. Two doubles instead. Again, a complaint that holds value due to the coupling effect of other disappointments. Now comes the bathroom. Toilet decides to flood the first night. How nice. Just for the record, it flooded going #1, not #2, so there was no "well you probably clogged it" defense. Next, the smell of the bathroom's shower curtain. I'm not convinced they wash or ever even replace it. It was offensive, to say the least. Going along with the shower, it flooded the bathroom the first morning after. Yet another pleasant situation. And finally, on the third day, the Alarm clock decided it was no longer going to work. It worked fine the previous 2 nights, but the 3rd, no go. This time I was furious and while scrambling to get ready for a meeting I was now an hour late to, I called the front desk and demanded someone come up. "Needs lots of improvement"
Everything about this hotel is old. The curtains in the rooms were dirty and had holes. The smell of cigarettes in the room was strong and steady. The shower in the bathroom was from the mid sixties I thought. I would rather pay 20-30% more for the room at Waldorf-Astoria than be at Vincci Avalon again.

"A little too, worn for the price"
Hotel is in good, central location. Hotel staff friendly, enough - though did not go out of their way to help with directions. The hotel is worn. The room, although most likely stylish about 10 years ago, is very worn. Faded paint on walls with peeling paint on molding. Bathroom tile nice, however, faucets in poor repair. "Convenient location and decent value, but condition and amenities could use improvement"
Hotel is in a very convenient midtown location, and the junior suite was large for NY. I had stayed there several years ago, and my memory was of a nicer hotel. The furniture was suprisingly tattered, and it was difficult to set the a/c- it was either way to cold or too hot. "Great home away from home"
From the second we arrived to the second we checked out. Outstanding! The door man Abby was the best, it was raining and he went out of his way to get our bags to our room and let us us his personal umbrella. I highly recommend this hotel to every one. Great location and close to everything. Not to mention the room was spacious and very clean.
"Problems but we would probably go back"
We arrived hot and tired with our two children in tow to find that the air conditioning had broken down, the room key system had also broken down and housekeeping took AGES to send the sheets to enable us to put up the sofa bed. Not a good start. Things did improve quite considerably, although the air conditioning took four days to sort. Luckily it […] was May, not August. The chances of this happening again are presumably small. On the plus side the rooms are really big by NY standards. We visited friends staying in the considerably pricier Grand Hyatt, and their room was pokey in comparison. The bathroom was clean, and all worked well. Staff were generally unobtrusive but friendly. The neighbourhood isn't grand, but neither is it at all threatening - we walked around quite happily late in the evening, and it is beautifully placed if you want to walk around the city as it is quite central. We had the executive suite for an amazing price! The room was like an apartment. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was massive. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who likes an old-fashioned and luxurious feel to there stay.

I love this hotel. Wonderful staff, attractive and spacious rooms. Only negative is if you need to use the internet for work it is too slow and unstable. Otherwise, this is a great property.

Great location! avalon is right at the center of Korean Town and Manhattan, there are so many great restaurants around the hotel. and it's very convenient to go to anywhere. my friend and I took cab all the time during our stay in Avalon and our transportation fee ended up to be very reasonable, it's only slightly higher than buying a week subway pass […] but way more comfortable. Room is large and cozy as well. the only flaw is that the hotel room doesn't have kettle, you must get hot water from the reception table. Read more

"Fantastic, definitely stay here again"
Great place if you're looking for a large comfortable room to sleep in in NYC. Not the type of hotel if you're after luxuries and pampering. Stayed with 3month old, staff v helpful, allowed early check in. Room enormous, very comfortable, big bathroom. Amazing for NYC. Furnishings tired and worn if you're being really picky but who cares, it's not […] like you stay in hotel all day. Even if you did want to, plenty of space. Am very happy we found our hotel in NYC, intend to stay here next time we come. EXCEPTIONAL value for money (they also had a special offer when we went -stay 3 nights, get 20% off). Well located in terms of taking cabs/subway to other parts of manhattan. Area quite touristy (next to empire state) but fine. Good restaurants in surrounding Koreatown. Read more

Proceed with caution. The Vincci Avalon is not as advertised or as shown in the photos. I was sharing a room with 3 friends and we are all on the same page with this rating. Our experience with the Vincci Hotel was not a great one. It was in fact quite disappointing. I will start with the good. The location was very good. I could almost say that it […] was excellent. Located between 5th and Madison it was close and within walking distance to all kinds of landmarks. An excellent starting point to our discovery vacation. The room was quiet and the air conditioning worked well. The large bathroom was perfect for three women. The beds and bed linens were clean and comfortable. There were however no body pillows or bath robes as was advertised. And this is the start of the disappointments. The mattress of the bed chesterfield was not usable. Very warn and thin. You could definitely feel the springs. So if you are counting on using the bed chesterfield bring your own foamy. As we had to pay for the 3rd person this was not good value. The hotel is in desperate need of repair and updating. The furniture in the room and in the common areas was shabby. The common areas were in desperate need of fresh paint and a really good cleaning. There was never enough towels left by housekeeping. We had to call every day for additional bath towels, hand towels and face cloths. There were not enough hangers for a group of people. Thank goodness we had brought our own. And the complimentary coffee and pastries were definitely not as advertised. The story on the coffee differed every day. Some staff said that coffee was available from 6:00 am to 7:00 am. Some staff said that coffee was available from 7:00 am to 7:30 am and then from 11:00 am to 11:30. I only found coffee available one day out five. Fortunately there were coffee shops close by. And complimentary pastries? Non existent. Lovely clean and comfortable hotel in very convenient location for sightseeing. A few minutes walk from Penn Station - we could easily have done without a taxi from the station had we realised how close it was! We were pleased with the Vincci Avalon -- quiet, clean, spacious room & bathroom, good location. The room was a bit warm (we opened the window one night) and we could never figure out the room temp. controls, but we didn't spend much time on it. The wireless connection was slow, and I had to wait for a while one night for one of the two computers on […] the main floor. Le […] quartier est très bien, à deux pas de l'empire state building, et au centre de Manhattan, donc facile pour aller soit vers Uptown soit vers le Village. "Perfekte hotellet i NYC!"
Vi ankom hotellet Kl 09 om morgenen og var innstilt på å ikke få rom før Kl 14-15 tiden. Derimot var personalet svært hjelpsomme og vi fikk rom med en gang.... ikke nok med det; vi ble gratis oppgradert til et større rom:) Resten av oppholdet var også preget sv særdeles god service! Anbefaler også hotellets egen restaurent med den hyggeligste bartender […] noensinne! Beste hotellopplevelsen i NYC på våre 6 besøk der:) Read more

Wir waren bereits zum zweiten Mal im Vincci Avalon, weil es uns im Sommer 2009 sehr gut gefallen hatte. Mittlerweile sind das Hotel und die Zimmer jedoch sehr abgewohnt, überall sind deutliche Gebrauchsspuren zu sehen. Am negativsten ist uns jedoch der Service aufgefallen. Die Mitarbeiter an der Lobby machen einen inkompetenten und desinteressierten […] Eindruck. Wir hatten eine Junior Suite gebucht, wurden für die erste Nacht jedoch in einen Superior Room gepackt, da keine Junior Suite frei war. Hierzu wurde uns weder eine Entschädigung angeboten, noch eine Entschuldigung o.ä. Insgesamt ist es auch absolut überteuert, für den Preis kriegt man in New York definitiv bessere Zimmer in Hotels mit mindestens der gleichen Lage. Read more
