"Shepley in February"
The staff were very friendly, and the decor and design of the hotel is lovely. Breakfast is a little basic, but the sitting area out front is lovely in the morning. You get a bit noise in the front bedrooms looking onto Collins Avenue, but that is the price you pay for a great location. The beach and Ocean Drive are only a block away, and generally […] far enough away so that you are not in the middle of the madness! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Family 3 night stay"
Beautifully designed hotel in a perfect location in the Art Deco district. 2 minutes walk from Ocean Drive, the main beach and several good restaurants. Handy car park across the road, USD1 per hour or USD20 for 24 hours. Breakfast was fine, relaxed atmosphere and enough variety.
Thanks to all te team and thank you again for your welcome ! Perfect location and well appointed rooms! Very clean rooms and lobby area. Staff was outstanding overall very pleased with our experience. Parked car across the street at parking garage for $20 dollars a night which is expected for the area, but no issues. I hope this place keeps up the excellent job they have done it making a wonderful experience for families, couples or for a single person traveling. Thank You! Can't wait to come back.

Located on Collins in the Deco District made this the perfect location for our stay. You are just one street from the oceanfront along an artery that can take you to Espanola Way, Lincoln Shopping, as well as the shops/eateries in this popular section of town. The owner should know his staff is terrific. They gave complete details on my stay, recommended great eateries, made sure they had a smile, opened doors, moved luggage-what more could you want. My room was very clean, well appointed for my stay, complete with safe. The rooms are normal sized and very nice post refurb. Breakfast was always on time with fruit, juice, coffee in proper cups, clean silverware, and bread stuffs. Front porch is a great place to people watch and decide where to go. I could grab the Neon walk at night for fotos, go to many restaurants & bars, hit the beach, grab a bus for sightseeing, shopping, etc. Need a drugstore? One block up. Very reasonable on price and do not be fooled-we slept great! Will return again . Don't forget to check out the fotos on the wall in the hall! What a nostalgia tour!

I was staying at the Hotel Shepley in South Beach, Miami Beach for 6 nights at the end of February 2015. My room was great in size with one queen bed. It was a corner room overlooking Collins avenue. When the windows were closed, noise was not an issue. However opening the windows you can hear most things from the busy street. Other rooms in the hotel that overlook the sides are much more quieter. Lobby is friendly, great design. Complimentary breakfast is provided. It had some essentials, but could be upgraded a bit. Yet, as it was complimentary I was very happy to grab something in the morning. Breakfast included: croissants (warm), bagels, jam, cream cheese, orange juice, water, bananas and apples, american coffee and milk frother to make something similar like a capuccino. There is a computer to use with a printer at the lobby, but the printer was not working properly. Front desk printed everything when I sent them in an email. A guy was always opening the front door and helping with luggage with a smile. Beach towels and a portable beach chair was available for free. The beach was a few minutes walk only. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Martin Mantilla, front desk supervisor helped a lot for my group. He was printing documents for me and made our vacation go smoothly.

When I booked it I saw that it had recently been refurbished and seemed good value for money, probably as it had poor reviews before. We weren't disappointed. The location was wonderful, one block from the beach and the noise, right in the heart of the Art Deco section, good restaurants within walking distance (stay away from those on Ocean Boulevard). The staff were great, always friendly and very helpful and always there. The Room was nice and clean and obviously new with hardwood floors. Only minor complaints were that I could hear the people upstairs on their Hardwood a couple of times, I guess they couldn't have soundproofed the floor/ceiling. Also the bed seemed smaller than a Queen as advertised and the mattress was rather bouncy although firm.

The hotel was boutique style, very happy staff which is always a good sign. The rooms were nicely furnished and the bathroom clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was unexpected but very very nice. The location was close enough to the front with nice bars located nearby and a food/handy bits shop just 3 minutes down the road but out of most of the music and noise to sleep. Miami what an amazing place everything I expected surreal!

Let me start by saying I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars but I will get to that later. Others have said it is in a perfect location and they are right, When you enter the lobby you feel that you've entered a Cuban Restoration Hardware showroom ,with its tall cocoa colored book cases, its truly beautiful. As you walk to your room you pass through a hall lined with hundreds of vintage photographs, I wanted to walk slowly to take it all in. I stayed in room 215 which is a King Suite (gigantic by South Beach standards)This room is in the back of the building so it was extremely quiet with many windows(no view). The room is as beautiful as the lobby,it has a sitting area with a large Samsung tv and comfortable loveseat to view it.The bathroom is large with bright white subway tiles. Now to the short list, there is no parking valet so if you arrive on a Sunday afternoon as I did all of the nearby parking lots are full you end up leaving your bags with the doorman and have to spend an hour looking for a space. To the room, as beautiful as it is there are some quirks, there is no full length or make up mirror which drove my wife crazy, the 2 sinks are attractive but really too small to use, with no counter space, the shower looks great but the shower head is so close to the wall you cant get under it. My biggest qualms are that the tv wouldn't turn towards the bed and the woodtone vinyl flooring that was used had cigarette burns in it. With a few minor changes to the room this could easily become one of my all time favorite hotels.Sorry to have to post 4 stars.
"Good value hotel (and very good value for South Beach!)"

Stayed at this boutique hotel for two nights. My room on the lower of the two floors was very clean, but it initially felt a bit spartan with its stripped wooden floor, wood paneled walls, full iron bed (with a firm mattress), and single armchair. There was no place to store my suitcase (other than on the floor, or balanced on top of the safe), but a luggage rack was supplied after I asked at the front desk. The plumbing in the adjoining room's bathroom was quite loud at times, and the gap under the door meant that all conversations and doors slamming in the corridor could be heard clearly at 2am and again in the morning. The curtains didn't close properly, and the slatted blinds on the window didn't cut out much daylight - closing the curtains covered the air con unit beneath the window, which made it louder, but fortunately the a/c isn't needed at night in the winter - however, having said all that (which sounds like a long moan!), the room and adjoining bathroom as a whole have a classy, fresh feel, and the shower was very good, with thick towels and dressing gowns supplied. The basic but filling self-service breakfast (until 10am each morning, from the tiny kitchen) can be taken in the cozy reception area, or out on the front porch. The hotel is in a great location, three blocks from Lincoln Road, and only one block from Ocean Drive, but far enough away to escape the noise - and despite being so close to the beach, the hotel does not charge a resort fee, and can supply guests with beach towels and chairs. My room had a flat screen cable TV, a safe large enough to hold a laptop, and the wi-fi inside the hotel was fast and reliable (but not so much when sitting on the front porch people-watching). The fantastic staff are the greatest asset of this hotel - every one of them works very hard to make sure that the guests are well taken care of. This hotel probably offers the very best value in all of South Beach (but I'm not convinced that it should be rated higher overall than most/all of the other hotels in the area, because it does not offer the same comfort and facilities that are available at many larger hotels).
"Just as pretty as the beach (which is a block away)"

My home fry, Tronda loved this place! Customer service was incredible. We asked for sushi places and the man at the from desk not only named them but came up to our room and passed us a map. Room was a bit on the smaller side but still comfortable with an incredible bathroom. Granted out view sucked but that is my only real complaint. I highly recommend it

My brother and I stayed at the Shepley in separate rooms for 4 nights. I had a corner room with lots of windows and a queen bed. He had a less charming room with not much of a view, and two beds. His room was near the elevator and more exposed to the noise of children and arrivals in the hallway. My room was pretty quiet except I could hear the people in the room next to mine if they were loud or if their TV was loud but it wasn't a problem. Aside from those minor negatives I loved this hotel! The staff were very nice and accommodating. When I asked for an iron they went out and bought one. No ironing board though. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom, free wifi, free cable, a minifridge, and a safe in the room. Did I mention how charming my room was? I loved it. Very tastefully decorated. There were also beach towels and little beach chairs available. The beach was a block away. Breakfast was available every morning and consisted of great coffee, juice, dry cereal, bagels, crescent rolls, pastries, and fresh fruit although by the time I got up the fruit was usually gone. (I think breakfast was from 7-10 but I never got there before 9.) The hotel is in a great neighborhood of shops and restaurants and a bolck from the main drag (Ocean Ave). It was just a really pleasant experience. Martin was especially nice to us but really all the staff were wonderful.
