The price was good for a downtown hotel within walking distance of the places we wanted to go. However, for the price the room was very small. We had no view from the second floor. We had to pay per day for wi-fi that I had thought was included. We also ate breakfast in the restaurant in the lobby. The buffet was cold and the food, for example the pancakes, […] were hard around the edges. I almost figured that breakfast was complementary but it cost quite a lot per person for a buffet of bad food. I didn't even eat much and felt like I was kind of ripped off. I was traveling for work (of course, always trying to make some time for pleasure as well), and the Omni far surpassed my expectations. I am not someone who normally needs a great deal of assistance when I am at a hotel, but this time I happened too -- and was greeted with extremely helpful, friendly staff at every turn. I needed to print and copy some […] documents I'd forgotten about, which was taken care of extremely quickly for me. I also learned about joining the benefits club of theirs at no cost, and was able to get my suit pressed, get free internet, and had a lovely coffee and newspaper delivered to my room for free in the morning. "Make sure it isn't busy when you go"
The hotel itself was nice--small and historic and close to pretty much everything we wanted to do. We went for our anniversary trip, expecting to have some privacy, quiet and relaxation. They have a complementary shuttle that is supposed to run every 10 minutes, they said, or 20 minutes max. We waited 45 minutes for the shuttle and missed a dinner reservation. […] The front desk person was also the valet and concierge. They had 2 people working on a Saturday night. It just seemed unorganized. Enjoyed the downtown location and proximity to attractions. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed in the size of the bathroom-tiny. There were no towel racks and very little counter space at sink. Very limited cable channels, old style TV, in room internet is $10/day, but free internet in lobby and restaurant-inconvenient and unnecessary. Bedding […] was clean, but some of sheets were torn. This is a very old hotel and has been updated and has lots of charm- such as some of the antique furniture, marble door thresholds, and wood panelling. The room was great & the staff went above our expectations. We had mentioned we were taking a mini-getaway (the first since our honeymoon) and the staff sent us a bottle of champagne. We had a very nice stay at the Omni Majestic. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful when we had questions. The bar pours a good, strong drink! The beds are large (we got a king) and very comfy. We opted to do our own on-street parking and our vehicle was ok all weekend. The bathroom (especially the toilet/shower area) are pretty small, but I do understand that the Omni Majestic is a historic hotel, so that can't be helped. The tvs were ok, but the reception was fairly poor. Maybe I'm spoiled by HD at my own home, but ugh! We were in town for an NFL game and the walk to the Edward Jones dome took only about 5 minutes, which was really nice. "Wonderful service, disappointing room"
The hotel staff was wonderful and very accommodating. When the staff found out my husband was in the military we received chocolate covered strawberries and champagne delivered to our room, free of charge. While the staff was wonderful, this is an older hotel and the room did not meet expectations for the price. The air conditioning system did not work; […] no matter how long it stayed on or how low the temperature was set the room temperature did not change. We were also charged $10 a day for using the Wi-Fi. This charge was not listed on any information we were given nor was it listed on the hotel log-in page, we only found out when we looked at our final bill. We understand that you get what you pay for. I was just surprised that the door of the room is almost right next to the bed I sleep in. So there is not a hall way to lead to the bed.
