"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

Of all the superlatives used to describe the Upper East Side, one word is apt: richest. Some of the city’s wealthiest residents live in the high rises that line Fifth Avenue. Be prepared to spend an entire day at the Museum of Metropolitan Art. Both a physical and art-world behemoth, the Met is home to several masterworks, from an intact ancient Nubian temple to post-modern color studies.

"Lovely Room No Amenities"
The room was lovely. The decor is nice and modern and my bed oh so very comfy. I had a room that had a 180 degree view, which was wonderful for me because I love having natural light. I was there for business and the desk that faced the wall of windows was perfectly lit. Unfortunately, this is where the gushing stops. The temperature was always a little […] off in the room no matter how much I adjusted it. Other reviews discuss the bathroom concept they have. The water does get everywhere. Kinda has the feeling of an upscale locker room shower because of that. I didn't mind that too much. I don't get however, why they decided to have no counter space in the bathroom. Not even a toilet seat. Weird. The absolute worst part of the stay was the clear way in which the owners do not seem to invest in the stay. The staff there is super friendly for the most part. There is only room service after 5PM with a very uninspiring menu. When I went to the $18 Buffet/Hot breakfast there was only ONE person working the floor. By this I mean, he was the host, waiter, server, and busperson. That is totally unacceptable. I felt bad for the guy. If you are peckish in the late afternoon and 5PM seems to be hours away, don't expect to jot around the corner. There are lovely restaurants nearby but they are a few blocks away, which sucks when its a surprisingly cold day. It was okay for the price. The lovely room made much of the annoyances fade away. "Close to sights"
Very good, reasonable price of room, very happy with stay.
"Reasonable rates but could be closer to subway"
Room I booked was not available but substitute, with smaller beds, had a great view...hotel staff helpful and friendly...all amenities were available at extra cost, e.g., coffee in-room, refrigerator, microwave, internet..all add-ons...including buffet breakfast...absence of ice and vending machines also..
"4 day mini vacation"
Disappointed from arrival. Initally assigned us to a room that had not been cleaned/serviced from the last guest. Next room was in a back corner with blocked out windows, again unacceptable. Finally after agreeing to wait for the original room to be serviced, they had to put us in another room because cleaning the first room was "too difficult". Very […] ruded and "bothered" front desk help... finally got the help of someone who was acceptably pleasant. Top floor bar disorganized and not very attentive. Would not recommend this hotel. "NYC at Bentley"
We really liked the hotel. We intended to stay only one night, but extended the stay. We liked that we could park on the site and thought it was reasonably priced.
"Decent 3-4 star hotel"
The hotel is in a really nice location in the Upper East Side and the staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Really good price for the location. Rooms are nice, good sized, clean, and comfortable. The hotel has a fun atmosphere to it. Still, the bathrooms could be improved a bit. They look nice, but for example, the shower has one of those partial […] screens which still allow a lot of water to get onto the floor. Also, I was there in mid-April 2012, and there is serious construction going on out front of the hotel, and it is happening 7 days per week and construction begins at 7am each day (yes, on Saturday and Sunday too). And it is LOUD. I was on the fifth floor and could hear everything early in the morning. Read more
"Great location on upper east side"
We had a very nice stay. The only issue was that wireless internet service did not work in our particular room. However, the hotel gave us a free access code to use in the lobby.
Good location. Quite noisy if staying on the FDR side as the traffic never lets up. Would stay at the Bentley again. Staff was very helpful.
"The Bentley Hotel"
Our daughter book this hotel for us as an anniversary gift. The Hotel Could not be more accommodating. The staff is friendly, attentive and very warm. The staff go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible, we felt very welcomed and new if we needed anything that they would go out of their way for us. The room was very clean and […] the view was beautiful. The room is well decorated with a fun trendy style. The hotel is a little away from the congestion of mid town so it is nice when you leave or want to go for a walk, you can have some peace or enjoy a walk along the east river. I highly recommend this hotel. Read more
"o.k.hotel"
Bathroom could have been cleaner. I found a few hairs that did not belong to us on the bathtowels and the floor was dirty. The beds were comfortable but we were put in a two bed room instead of the king bed we reserved . It was close to my daughter's apartment which was a plus but was a long walk to subways. a little overpriced.

"Bentley"
This was definitely not a 4 star hotel with poor heating and cooling system and a staff that was less then helpful at times. I did not even know they had a roof top bar until I checked out. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We booked a King but were only given a King which did not start tyhe stay on a positive note. On the way out the […] door man grabed our luggage and dragged in town the stairs in front breaking the handle. Not a 4 star Read more

Everything was lovely, but the water was GRAY. And, why only half of a shower barrier?

"Bentley - A hotel where you don't feel boxed in"
The location of the hotel with no close neighbors means that you don't feel boxed in, and nobody looks into your room from across the street. The the hotel has a nice atmosphere with a very friendly and helpful staff. However it's about time for a make-over as particularly the bar and the roof top restaurant are quite worn down.

"Hitel Bentley in NYC-Quirky but fun"
I think it was trying to sell itself as a hip place to stay but without the attitude...that made the puff chairs and animal print carpet that much more fun. Very close to everything you could possibly need.
"Great Hotel, with An Amazing View!"
This hotel has an amazing view and a real modern look. Staff is great and the neighborhood is great also, a couple blocks up there are bars etc. If you are driving in there is also a parking lot up the block they do not charge as much so it's pretty cool. Will certainly be visiting this location again.
"good east side location"
I had an event to go to on 88th street. It was a good location for me to do that. Lacks ice machine - need to call for ice. Great views from roof top lounge.
"Hip and Economical"
Very pleasant stay at this Euro-styled boutique hotel a stone's throw from the FDR. Awesome view of the 59th Street Bridge and the East River. Nice little wine bar and outside courtyard off the lobby- did not make it to the rooftop bar/restaurant but will try next time. Parking garage nearby. Slight incline walk up to 1st and 2nd Ave where you can get […] anything you need. Read more

"Hotel Bentley - funky but out of the way"
Funky and hip boutique tucked up against the QB bridge. industrial setting with lots of windows, edgy urban feel. I bit far from subway and the walk to attractions takes a bit of time, but otherwise good value. Friendly desk staff is very helpful.
"Beautiful hotel on the river"
You have spectacular views of the city, the bridge and the riverfrom the restaurant ( good food) and rooms. Newer, modern style & clean this hotel is a great value. Only negative - is I.3 blocks from neighborhood stores. I am definitely returning at this price
"Nice Rooms, no hot water"
Very nice room with a view of the 59th St. Bridge--sunny and pleasant. Unfortunately the internet (pay) did not work and there was no hot water early in the morning. It's your basic NY budget hotel, except being on the East River, there is the possibility of a nice view.

"The Bentley"
Spent 11 days on business. A little off the beaten path but not by much. Convenient to subway and buses. Tons of food choices. Very safe location. Times Square is a short taxi ride, say $5 or subway connection (a few blocks) or walk like I do. Nice accommodations although showing some signs of minor wear. (Light fixtures wobbly and the like) Staff […] was friendly and professional. My heater had some trouble keeping up with the cold air but did fine overall. If you have troubles call the front desk. My shower took about 4 minutes of running cold water before I received hot water but I was up for work around 5:30 am, so I don’t really think was that awful. Once hot water came it stayed on and had good pressure. Sink hot water was always good must be different water lines. Roof top bar is a great choice for a late night drink. It provides one of the premier views of the city for the price. I used to live in NY near the hotel and would bring my out of town guests to the bar at night. It is hard to see the lights of NY unless you can get a little bit away from the tall buildings. The bar has that. I did not try the food so look elsewhere for that info. Walk three blocks and you are in some great food options on the Upper East Side. From upscale to low end. Take the close by tram to Roosevelt Island and back for another great view of Manhattan. And it is the only?? Or one of the only trams in the US. I would have liked to have an in room coffee maker and free internet. The internet wi fi was an outside vendor and was slow when a number of computers were connected. My TV reception was only adequate but I did not bother calling the front desk so maybe they could have fixed it. I plan to return. My thanks to Adrianna at the front desk for being so helpful Ron A Read more
"Mixed Experience"
The rooms at the Bentley Hotel in Manhattan are extremely varied. My sister and brother-in-law received a corner room with an exquisite view, whereas our room had a dull view. The room was so small that we found it difficult to pass each other. Our room didn't have an ironing board, so we had to ask for one. When we did, they kept asking us to check. […] Our iron had a hole in it and dropped water on the clothes. The staff were pretty friendly and helpful. However, our keypad for the door kept malfunctioning. It wasn't our keycards themselves (the staff kept resetting them but it didn't work) but the control on the door. We had to go up and down very slow elevators several times to resolve this, on different occasions. The snacks on the table were helpful, but $8 for a bottle of water is extensive, even for Manhattan. Again, the staff was helpful and courteous, but this hotel needs an overhaul. Read more
"Bentley Hotel - affordable, modern, but stinky..."
Affordable uptown hotel. Wonderful rooftop restaurant/bar with beautiful view. Staff were extremely friendly & accomodating (they switched us to a room with a view, arranged our transportation to the airport, kept our bags after check-out, made restaurant recommendations, etc.). The room was average size with very comfy bed. Nice touch with I-phone […] docking station/alarm clock. Only negatives: no exhaust fan in restroom, sink would not drain properly, and the room had an overall odor...Not sure what it was? Maybe a mold smell? Read more
"Bentley Hotel-One night Stay"
The staff was very friendly and even upgraded us to a suite which was great! The room was modern but not quite as clean as I would have liked. It wasnt bad at all but it certainly was not up to a 5 star clean standard. The location was convenient for us right off the FDR. The worst thing was how loud the heating unit was and you could hear your neighbors […] easily. Worked for a quick one night stay. Read more

"A great find."
I booked this room for an evening on the town with my girl friend. Both of us mid to late 30's professionals. Initially I was a bit skeptical of what I would experience. I called to confirm my reservation about 2hrs prior to check in and the gentleman who answered the phone was not very helpful or pleasant. Upon our arrival I found the complete opposite. […] I was fortunate enough to be welcomed by a very bright, pleasant and professional young woman at the front desk. After hearing of my initial conversation with the front desk, she immediately offered an apology and took the liberty to offer a upgrade on my room totally free of cost. Every staff member we came into contact with there after was very pleasant and professional. Hotel is very modern with a chic decor and appearance. Rooms are very clean and cozy. The view from the room was pretty spectacular, considering we over looked the east river and Roosevelt Island. Room service ordered was well priced and surprisingly very good. Parking is offered at a great rate. The hotel is in one of the nicer and safer parts of town, conveniently located to most midtown attractions. Dinner and dancing in the theater district was as simple as an 8 dollar cab ride. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast at the roof top restaurant. Very well priced when you consider it's breakfast with a nice view. Over all we were both very pleased with our stay and will definitely be coming back. Read more
The hotel is very close to the east river drive. Our room was very noisy and seemed like we were sleeping on the side of an interstate, so room location is a big issue.
"Would stay there again!"
Very nice New York boutique hotel at a very reasonable price
"Rude Staff"
From the moment I checked in to the next day when I left....the staff at the counter were rude, the manager was extremely rude...and double charged me on room service because apparently my room had an outdated menu in it.
"The Bentley Hotel in New York - too far east"
The hotel is very no frills. I was awaiting a bell valet person to come and take my car and luggage and a guy in a pea coat approached my car and shared the parking is self parked. After driving around the corner and waiting 15 minutes for the parking attendant to park y car I had to walk back around the corner with my luggage to the hotel for check […] in. The front desk staff is very nice, espcially Ozzie. I moved three times before settling into the room I stayed in. One of the reasons was because one rooms had a leak in the window and water was coming in. The rooms are very small and they do not have queen beds. They say the beds are queen size but they are full size beds. The bath tub was stopped up when I took a shower and the shower wall does not completely close in the tub so you have to use many towels to not wet up the bathroom floor. The hotel is also too far east for me. I would not stay at this hotel again. For the price, New York has many comparable hotels that are in better areas and much more well kept. Read more
