"Walking distance to Central Park"
The Hotel and Room were lovely; however, we are waiting at present for a credit to our Visa for accommodations we paid for and did not receive. The suite should have had a pull-out but it was broken so I had to sleep on the couch. Still waiting to hear from the Bentley with regard to the status of my credit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Upscale Hotel"
This hotel is located in a very nice family neighborhood considering it's NY. Lots of people walking dogs but always picking up the mess. One block walk to 1st Ave. and lots of restaurants and coffee shops. The room was exceptional since they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a Jr. suite. The room was very clean every day and the bed came with two […] types of pillows for each us. The bathroom was a little tight so only plan on one person at a time. "Poor service the entire trip."
No internet service for a business trip and I had to go to a different hotel. Since I booked this hotel on this site they would not compensate me accordingly. No TV on several stations and as per the front deal, bad cable company. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. No AC on the hallways. The health club had one bench and had little ACGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff was very accommodating - they made the stay very pleasant. The hotel room was clean but some of the furniture has seen better days - corners of chairs worn, dated carpeting, dated lamps. The beds were very comfortable and clean. Did not explore the restaurant or bar but the menu was very pricey. Lots of good places to eat within walking […] distance. Service overall was great. Would stay again. "The good, the bad, and the hike to the subway"
We were blown away by room quality considering price, but there were some oddities about the room. (1) There was a random bullet hole in our window, which appeared to be from the inside. It went all the way through, but didn't really seem bigger than a pinhole. (2) our shower had no operable vent, which left the bathroom quite damp. (3) as far as location […] goes, it was about half a mile to the nearest subway or Starbucks, which wasn't hugely ideal when we were pressed for time. Overall, a great stay and the breakfast room service was a nice touch! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Chose this hotel because of location and the in and out parking privileges and parking rates, only to find it offers storage only. I had called the hotel directly. Also, did not notice if the description mentions this or not, but the rooftop restaurant is closed on Friday evenings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved the experience, defenetly comming back!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good basic hotel"
The hotel was clean and serviceable. Main selling point was that it was within walking distance of major attractions. Room was pretty small, decor and furniture dated. Air conditioner was unusually loud. But, compared to other hotels on the same area, the rates were very reasonable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Positives: Honored requests for king bed and no feather linens (husband is allergic). Friendly front desk staff and helpful doormen. Room was spotless. Tram to Roosevelt Island nearby. Negatives: Restaurant was closed the weekend we were there. Scaffolding for window cleaning project at front and side entrances. Bar was closed shortly after midnight […] on Saturday night. Had to walk several blocks for food and shops. Room with a view was offered at check-in for a substantial up-charge (we declined). Noise from street was loud (not hotel's fault). AC unit and toilet were also very noisy. No free internet access. Snacks and drinks in room and mini fridge were pricey. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great NYC Hotel"
Loved the location and the staff was amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The only thing I didn't like was we didn't know we had a closet, until checking out & no exhaust in the bathroom, for the humidity. But loved it! Best alternative to the Marriott.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel looks very modern but the quality of decor is very inexpensive. the restaurant is very expensive but quality of food not worth the priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Out of the Way Place to Stay"
Great staff works hard to please. Amenities are sparse, location is near the water, but out of the way.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had to put in a noise complain 3x. There was a lady screaming on the phone in the next room from mid nite until 1 am. Besides that it was an OK experience. We have stayed there before and probably would again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bring your hardhat"
Rooms in Manhattan hotels get a lot of use and any hotel has a hard time keeping up The Bentley is undergoing an extensive exterior repair and perhaps it should follow up with a repair of inside facilities as well. Our room had a door to the bathroom off the hinge and some other little things that didn't work right. The rooftop bar space was littered […] with construction debris and scaffolding. I think when the reconstruction is completed, it will be a nice place to visit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Little to offer"
Dark hall and dark room. Tight room that been served twice in four nights. Very tight on supply, no soaps, gel body wash in a very small container for maximum two body wash nerver been replaced in four nights stays and we were three people in this room? I will never come back to it or recommende it to any one. They have no budget to serve the rooms? […] Even the ice, you have to call the disk for it? You can smell dust as it seemed never vacummed? "Comfortable, Friendly and Quiet Residential Hotel"
This upper east side boutique hotel is located in a residential area easily accessible to JFK airport and midtown activities. The staff is friendly and your wake-up call is from a "real" person! Had woken up 4 times by housekeeper knocking at the door.Woke me up all four times by answering her door bc she wanted to check for vacancy.9:40am to 11:10 am disturbingGenuine Expedia guest review
nothing terribly bad about it, but honestly, if I'm paying over $400 a night, could it hurt to provide internet access and breakfast? also the bathroom smells like mould quite strongly, and the roll-in shower is poorly designed such that water covers half of the bathroom after taking a shower and I couldn't use the sink without getting my feet wet. […] the room is huge, much bigger than I need, but what am I going to use half a basketball court for? I'd much rather have the other things that are actually useful instead... Rooms is beautiful, modern and clean...very expensive though... No complimentary water,, The shower was a bit odd with half the tub being glass walled.. left the back of shower wide open. Hot water took quite a while to get hot... Overall 3.5 starsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed my stay. But I wish the wifi was actually free instead of having to pay for it. Also, it would have been nice to have been supplied toothbrushes and razors. After my stay, I realized that I left two black guess shirts in the room that I stayed in. I hope they will be recovered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean and nice rooms. Location is not optimum."
We've stayed at the hotel for a weekend. The rooms were nice, and clean. The staff was helpful. The hotel is located next to the river, and if you get a room in the upper floors, you may have a nice view. The neighborhood is decent and felt safe. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but you can arrange breakfast [2 boiled eggs for $3, bagel with cream […] cheese for $5]. We suggest the Ritz diner [open 24 hours] for breakfast though. There is paid parking under the building. Taking a cab to Times Sq. costs $11. You may also walk in 30 minutes with kids, to get a feeling of "non-touristic" Manhattan. "Clean but not-so-close"
First the pluses: (1) Clean room (2) Terrific view of the bridge and river (3) Safe area The minuses: (1) Restaurant ultra expensive (2) An uphill walk to almost any restaurant or subway line - and not too close, either (3) Bed and pillows are marginally comfortable (4) Minibar items outrageously overpriced (5) Much construction going on at hotel so […] is not as aesthetically pleasing for the time being Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not in a great location + unfriendly staff"
This hotel is not well situated if you'd be trying to catch the metro or the trains - it's a long distance from Grand Central Station and other attractions. "Classy No More"
I stayed at this hotel in the past and it was in great condition, the staff was helpful the room was spacious and free coffee in the lobby. When we arrived, the hotel exterior was under construction, the air conditioner in the room was clunking so loud - which later that night we were thankful for because they stuck us in a tiny room on the side of […] the hotel where loud street construction was taking place causing major traffic jams all night long. When I mentioned the move to the adjacent side of the hotel away from construction- the clerk laughed. Nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Upper East Side"
Reasonable hotel. Problems with bathroom, room key, noise. Charge for in-room Keurig ($2.50) a bit excessive. But a reasonable experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel, clean rooms, good location. The rooms are bit tight, and the sound insulation is not that great. There was a group of young people next to our room that were a bit noisy and we could here it in our room. Other than that, we had a good stay and will recommend the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to granddaughter's apt."
It served our purpose well. It would have been nice to have complimentary coffee in the room like most hotels but everything was pay as you go. The Bentley honored all our requests. King bed & room above the 5th floor. One day we had no room service but they brought clean towels when we ask for them.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very reasonable price for NYC"
Room was very small but had everything we needed. Also, was very clean. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Very good that they now offer coffee and muffins for quick and easy breakfast just off the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location good and safe"
The location was a easy walk to subway and to small shops - people are out and about late at night so no problems late at night. Hotel staff provided information as to subway information. In all a great first visit to NYC!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Low Brow W"
The hotel is convenient to the nearby hospitals if you are staying over for an appointment/are visiting someone. It is also very convenient to the 59th St. bridge if you are coming from Long Island/Queens. There are reasonable and nearby parking facilities as well. The neighborhood is very residential with a few restaurants/pubs/bakeries within walking […] distance. Definitely not a tourist area and you will be disappointed if you want a midtown/Times Square vibe or convenience. The hotel attempts a swanky and sophisticated feel; however, the materials/furniture/atmosphere comes off much more under-budget than other NYC hotels. The rooftop bar/restaurant is small with decent views of the river/bridge, but it still feels cheap when compared to other midtown hotel eateries. Overall, it's a comfortable, cramped, clean hotel if your business brings you to the Lenox Hill area. If you are a NYC visitor, I suggest you look elsewhere for a posh and metropolitan experience. "Roar of the FDR Drowns Out a Hidden Gem"
Bentley is very fairly priced, friendly staff and nicely appointed rooms. It is geographically challenged as it sits adjacent to the FDR. Far East location makes it a hike to most of city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very Comfortable bed"
Furnishings in the room need updating. Surface of the tables need to be repaired. Some fixtures need to be replaced. There were loud voices that could be clearly heard outside of the room on at least three nights, which was irritating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very impressed with the beauty of the hotel & appreciated the convenience it gave us. Loved the private shuttle set up to JFK. Will definately stay again...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'd stay again"
The Bentley is a nice place to stay in New York. The room was bigger than many we've stayed in that cost more. the bar was nice and the wine reasonably priced. The bathroom needs more storage. The sink top curves and you can't put anything on it. The one glass shelf is fine, but with 2 people there's not enough room for your things.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Almost in Queens"
Nice looking accommodations. Quite a hike to nearest subway entrance. A/C did not cool properly to my setting, like the hotel had a governor on the temperature.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beware of the nasty air conditioner!"
The website states that car parking is $25. when we asked the hotel staff they said it was 40, we found one right next to the hotel for $31 for 24 hours. The exterior of the hotel is scary.I was very apologetic to my family as it was my husband's 60th birthday and I had booked our stay in this hotel, we walked towards it and saw it covered with nets […] and renovations going on. The room (after the initial scare with the exterior)was not bad. Seemed clean, the beds well made and the room also a reasonable size(keeping in mind that it is NY) We did not put on the air conditioner till late night and that was when we realized that it was almost as if it was possessed!! It sounded like a jet engine all through the night. We could not sleep through the night and had to go out to get coffee /tea as there is no arrangement in the room! Can you beat it that even our left over dinner from the previous night had to be thrown away because the use of the refrigerator was an extra charge(not to mention the wifi as well)each device is $13.00 for 24 hours!! A total ripoff! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No room at the inn"
Got to the Bentley after paying in full for the room weeks in advance and "securing" a "guaranteed" room. Was told there was NO ROOM available. I was flabbergasted! I had paid in advance and the room was guaranteed! They offered to put me up in a hotel on the other side of town (which did not at all meet my needs.) I told the manager I had chosen their […] hotel based on location, and he said there was nothing he could do. There are many aspects of a hotel to critique: cleanliness, service, amenities, etc... but the bottom line is: do they actually place you in a room. Without a room, the hotel is a non-starter. The Bentley is a non-starter. Don't bother making a reservation here... it just may not be honored and you, too, may be wondering at 10PM what to do and where to stay. "Worst hotel experience ever in NYC"
What an absolutely awful experience! No valet parking for an NYC hotel was the first of the irritations. Upon checking in, I asked what time the restaurant on the top floor opened and was told that he thought it was 5:30, "but the hotel isn't affiliated with the restaurant, so I'm not sure." No wonder they want to separate themselves! Went to the restaurant […] for dinner and had a $100 meal featuring a ribeye that was possibly the worst steak I've ever had. Given the cool temperature of the steak, the rubbery texture of the asparagus and the adherence of the paste to the plate, I'm fairly certain that the meal was microwaved rather than having been freshly cooked. It was awful! Then came the hotel... The noise from the FDR made it sound as though my windows were open all night. Every time the heat / AC unit kicked on it sounded as though a truck drove through those same windows. And then I found before going to bed that I had no hot water. After some work, maintenance fixed it. But when I got up the next morning to get ready for a day of meetings, I again had no hot (or even warm water). And to top it all off, the internet access was miserable even after two phone calls to have them troubleshoot my purchased access that would not activate. I lived in NYC for 10 years, and I travel there at least once a month for business. I would never stay in this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
