We had to put in a noise complain 3x. There was a lady screaming on the phone in the next room from mid nite until 1 am. Besides that it was an OK experience. We have stayed there before and probably would again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bring your hardhat"
Rooms in Manhattan hotels get a lot of use and any hotel has a hard time keeping up The Bentley is undergoing an extensive exterior repair and perhaps it should follow up with a repair of inside facilities as well. Our room had a door to the bathroom off the hinge and some other little things that didn't work right. The rooftop bar space was littered […] with construction debris and scaffolding. I think when the reconstruction is completed, it will be a nice place to visit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Would highly recommend and stay again for all reasons stated. The staff was also very friendly and helpful during my first visit to the city!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
nothing terribly bad about it, but honestly, if I'm paying over $400 a night, could it hurt to provide internet access and breakfast? also the bathroom smells like mould quite strongly, and the roll-in shower is poorly designed such that water covers half of the bathroom after taking a shower and I couldn't use the sink without getting my feet wet. […] the room is huge, much bigger than I need, but what am I going to use half a basketball court for? I'd much rather have the other things that are actually useful instead... In any case, at least no bed bugs, so I give it a pass, 3 stars Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to doctors."
I was a little warm but that could just be me!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms is beautiful, modern and clean...very expensive though... No complimentary water,, The shower was a bit odd with half the tub being glass walled.. left the back of shower wide open. Hot water took quite a while to get hot... Overall 3.5 starsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed my stay. But I wish the wifi was actually free instead of having to pay for it. Also, it would have been nice to have been supplied toothbrushes and razors. After my stay, I realized that I left two black guess shirts in the room that I stayed in. I hope they will be recovered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in NYC!"
Just a wonderful Hotel in a terrific area at a fabulous price! The entire staff was so helpful and it was fun meeting people fem all over the world!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and nice rooms. Location is not optimum."
We've stayed at the hotel for a weekend. The rooms were nice, and clean. The staff was helpful. The hotel is located next to the river, and if you get a room in the upper floors, you may have a nice view. The neighborhood is decent and felt safe. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but you can arrange breakfast [2 boiled eggs for $3, bagel with cream […] cheese for $5]. We suggest the Ritz diner [open 24 hours] for breakfast though. There is paid parking under the building. Taking a cab to Times Sq. costs $11. You may also walk in 30 minutes with kids, to get a feeling of "non-touristic" Manhattan. "Clean but not-so-close"
First the pluses: (1) Clean room (2) Terrific view of the bridge and river (3) Safe area The minuses: (1) Restaurant ultra expensive (2) An uphill walk to almost any restaurant or subway line - and not too close, either (3) Bed and pillows are marginally comfortable (4) Minibar items outrageously overpriced (5) Much construction going on at hotel so […] is not as aesthetically pleasing for the time being Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not in a great location + unfriendly staff"
This hotel is not well situated if you'd be trying to catch the metro or the trains - it's a long distance from Grand Central Station and other attractions. Staff is not friendly to say the least, other than room service, the hotel does not offer quick choices for breakfast, mediocre coffee is served downstairs and pastries that are essentially in […] edible. "Classy No More"
I stayed at this hotel in the past and it was in great condition, the staff was helpful the room was spacious and free coffee in the lobby. When we arrived, the hotel exterior was under construction, the air conditioner in the room was clunking so loud - which later that night we were thankful for because they stuck us in a tiny room on the side of […] the hotel where loud street construction was taking place causing major traffic jams all night long. When I mentioned the move to the adjacent side of the hotel away from construction- the clerk laughed. Nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel in isolated neighborhood."
No food service for breakfast or lunch. Room adequate - light switches didn't work. Air conditioning didn't work. No hot water in bathroom sink.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Upper East Side"
Reasonable hotel. Problems with bathroom, room key, noise. Charge for in-room Keurig ($2.50) a bit excessive. But a reasonable experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel, clean rooms, good location. The rooms are bit tight, and the sound insulation is not that great. There was a group of young people next to our room that were a bit noisy and we could here it in our room. Other than that, we had a good stay and will recommend the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to granddaughter's apt."
It served our purpose well. It would have been nice to have complimentary coffee in the room like most hotels but everything was pay as you go. The Bentley honored all our requests. King bed & room above the 5th floor. One day we had no room service but they brought clean towels when we ask for them.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very reasonable price for NYC"
Room was very small but had everything we needed. Also, was very clean. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Very good that they now offer coffee and muffins for quick and easy breakfast just off the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location good and safe"
The location was a easy walk to subway and to small shops - people are out and about late at night so no problems late at night. Hotel staff provided information as to subway information. In all a great first visit to NYC!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Low Brow W"
The hotel is convenient to the nearby hospitals if you are staying over for an appointment/are visiting someone. It is also very convenient to the 59th St. bridge if you are coming from Long Island/Queens. There are reasonable and nearby parking facilities as well. The neighborhood is very residential with a few restaurants/pubs/bakeries within walking […] distance. Definitely not a tourist area and you will be disappointed if you want a midtown/Times Square vibe or convenience. The hotel attempts a swanky and sophisticated feel; however, the materials/furniture/atmosphere comes off much more under-budget than other NYC hotels. The rooftop bar/restaurant is small with decent views of the river/bridge, but it still feels cheap when compared to other midtown hotel eateries. Overall, it's a comfortable, cramped, clean hotel if your business brings you to the Lenox Hill area. If you are a NYC visitor, I suggest you look elsewhere for a posh and metropolitan experience. "Any time meals a problem"
Meal service is a problem.. No room service. "Comfort Station" on the first floor converts from lite breakfast fare ...coffee, juice, etc. in the a.m. to bar service around 4 or 5p. Nothing in between. No in-room coffee. Only dinner is served... restaurant style in the evenings from 5p-10p. "Roar of the FDR Drowns Out a Hidden Gem"
Bentley is very fairly priced, friendly staff and nicely appointed rooms. It is geographically challenged as it sits adjacent to the FDR. Far East location makes it a hike to most of city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very Comfortable bed"
Furnishings in the room need updating. Surface of the tables need to be repaired. Some fixtures need to be replaced. There were loud voices that could be clearly heard outside of the room on at least three nights, which was irritating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very impressed with the beauty of the hotel & appreciated the convenience it gave us. Loved the private shuttle set up to JFK. Will definately stay again...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'd stay again"
The Bentley is a nice place to stay in New York. The room was bigger than many we've stayed in that cost more. the bar was nice and the wine reasonably priced. The bathroom needs more storage. The sink top curves and you can't put anything on it. The one glass shelf is fine, but with 2 people there's not enough room for your things.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Almost in Queens"
Nice looking accommodations. Quite a hike to nearest subway entrance. A/C did not cool properly to my setting, like the hotel had a governor on the temperature.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beware of the nasty air conditioner!"
The website states that car parking is $25. when we asked the hotel staff they said it was 40, we found one right next to the hotel for $31 for 24 hours. The exterior of the hotel is scary.I was very apologetic to my family as it was my husband's 60th birthday and I had booked our stay in this hotel, we walked towards it and saw it covered with nets […] and renovations going on. The room (after the initial scare with the exterior)was not bad. Seemed clean, the beds well made and the room also a reasonable size(keeping in mind that it is NY) We did not put on the air conditioner till late night and that was when we realized that it was almost as if it was possessed!! It sounded like a jet engine all through the night. We could not sleep through the night and had to go out to get coffee /tea as there is no arrangement in the room! Can you beat it that even our left over dinner from the previous night had to be thrown away because the use of the refrigerator was an extra charge(not to mention the wifi as well)each device is $13.00 for 24 hours!! A total ripoff! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"No room at the inn"
Got to the Bentley after paying in full for the room weeks in advance and "securing" a "guaranteed" room. Was told there was NO ROOM available. I was flabbergasted! I had paid in advance and the room was guaranteed! They offered to put me up in a hotel on the other side of town (which did not at all meet my needs.) I told the manager I had chosen their […] hotel based on location, and he said there was nothing he could do. There are many aspects of a hotel to critique: cleanliness, service, amenities, etc... but the bottom line is: do they actually place you in a room. Without a room, the hotel is a non-starter. The Bentley is a non-starter. Don't bother making a reservation here... it just may not be honored and you, too, may be wondering at 10PM what to do and where to stay. "Worst hotel experience ever in NYC"
What an absolutely awful experience! No valet parking for an NYC hotel was the first of the irritations. Upon checking in, I asked what time the restaurant on the top floor opened and was told that he thought it was 5:30, "but the hotel isn't affiliated with the restaurant, so I'm not sure." No wonder they want to separate themselves! Went to the restaurant […] for dinner and had a $100 meal featuring a ribeye that was possibly the worst steak I've ever had. Given the cool temperature of the steak, the rubbery texture of the asparagus and the adherence of the paste to the plate, I'm fairly certain that the meal was microwaved rather than having been freshly cooked. It was awful! Then came the hotel... The noise from the FDR made it sound as though my windows were open all night. Every time the heat / AC unit kicked on it sounded as though a truck drove through those same windows. And then I found before going to bed that I had no hot water. After some work, maintenance fixed it. But when I got up the next morning to get ready for a day of meetings, I again had no hot (or even warm water). And to top it all off, the internet access was miserable even after two phone calls to have them troubleshoot my purchased access that would not activate. I lived in NYC for 10 years, and I travel there at least once a month for business. I would never stay in this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I was born and raised in NYC, so I'm familiar with neighborhoods, hotels, etc. I've tried many of them, and they are either much too expensive, or less than clean. In NYC, a price you would pay for a two star hotel would get you at least a four star hotel in most other cities. That being said, this hotel is a great find. It's relatively inexpensive, […] in a very convenient neighborhood, has very comfortable rooms that are well-appointed, and has a lovely, courteous and helpful staff. This will definitely be my new go-to hotel for future trips to the city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was nice because we were real close to my niece"
Under construction on the bar on roof, so inside bar had view on opposite side of the bridge. Really bummed about that. Nice and cozy downstairs bar.Genuine Expedia guest review
Lovely hotel off the beaten path.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel staff was friendly and courteous. Check in was quick and room was large considering NYC. The room had a wonderful view of the bridge. Only down side was Internet for pay. I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Functional hotel - good location east of C. Park"
Smooth check-in - good for one night stop-over. Building/roadworks made access a little difficult, and location is a bit noisy (but that's typical of NYC). Comfortable bed & bedsheetsGenuine Expedia guest review
Ok, although for the price of room, movies should be free, tv with more entertainment, wifi free and free complimentary water.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good comfortable Eastside Hotel"
Overlooks East River, Eastside drive, and 59th street Bridge, but great soundproofing at least on the 20th floor.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel, a little expensive."
First the negatives, Heat didn't work. We got in late so the first night it was very cold.Very expensive for its location, but a perfect location for our needs. then, the positives The room was very clean and well appointed. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ideal respite from the hustle bustle of the city"
We needed a hotel on the upper east side and could not have been more pleased with the Bentley. The entire staff was helpful and friendly beyond all expectations. I highly recommend it. They anticipated our needs and met them in every way possible.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel on the East side"
3 nights, good shower pressure. Nice Starbuck's near by and we loved the local diner on the corner.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel and staff great - the rooftop restaurant however- despite a great view and good food had poor wait staff - and was overpriced even for NY with a view.Genuine Expedia guest review
My only complaint about the hotel was that it seemed like the beds were smaller than average. The staff was great and I lines being in the upper East Side location. Much quieter than Times Square area where I stayed before.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a decent hotel. We had to stay there because it was closest to where we had to be for a meeting. It is convenient to drive to as it is right off the FDR (you get to avoid city traffic). The parking is a good deal ($25 a night). The staff is very good. However, the hotel is not in great shape . . . it is falling apart slightly. There are better […] hotels for half the price. I didn't really have any issue other than the cost ($400 a night). It is barely 4 stars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

overall a very good deal for the money, especially considering the option to park across the block for $25 for 24 hoursGenuine Expedia guest review
A bit of an uphill trek to the subway, and no refrigerator space. But those are very minor inconveniences. Everything else was top notch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a great time. I like being able to walk, instead of taxi or subway so it was nice to be so close to central park, and the east river. Only issue we had was that our toilet overflowed for no reason. Strangest thing I've ever seen. Filled up for no reason, then when we tried to flush it, it overflowed. It was dealt with swiftly, although the maintenance […] staff didn't clean the water up the floor or take any of the wet towels with them. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to Central Park"
The best thing is that it is close to Central Park. The room was clean although small. No free Wi-Fi. Surcharge for using the fridge. During our stay we had snowfall and the heater did not worked, but the room was not that cold. One bad thing is that the shower splashes outside the tub and you will have to use 2 or 3 towels to prevent the water from […] running all over the bathroom. But if you want a place to sleep, get clean and rest. This is a good choice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
