"Great little hotel"
Nice place and a perfect location if you want something in the neighborhoods of Chicago. Easy walking to Lakeview and Lincoln Park sites, restaurants, etc. Excellent staff. Room was a little small, but truly fine. Had a maintenance item that was taken care of immediately. We will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Old but nice"
This is a historic old hotel within walking distance to Wrigley Field. The room is nice enough, same with the staff, and other amenities. Parking doesn't exist unless you use their suggested parking garage at a daily rate. But it was close enough and reasonable enough considering it is in a big city. My only complaint/issue is the building is an OLD […] wood framed building. The floor of the room above me was creaking anytime the person moved or took a step. They woke up early (5 am) and took a solid hour to get ready and head out. That entire hour it was impossible to sleep the creaks were so loud. BUT - that isn't easily controllable by hotel staff so no sense in making a fuss. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming - great location"
Our second stay at the Majestic. It's a charming, nicely kept older building in a great location for fans of Wrigley Field and Boystown alike. One warning: the single queen room is too small for 2 people. We upgraded to a suite and it was well worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Visiting for Chicago Pridefest"
Visiting for Chicago Pridefest. Really close walking distance, nice clean room, air conditioning stayed nice and cool! Nice ceiling fan! Nice shower! Very friendly and helpful staff! Reasonable close garage parking. Only issue was that when it rained, could not get most TV channels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable and crazy"
This is a very nice property in a great Chicago neighborhood. Short walk to Wrigley Field and Chicago's extensive parks along Lake Michigan. Our room was small but comfortable. We did not have much luggage so it worked out. Breakfast was good. Parking was an extra charge and around the block so unload first!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"overall it was avery nice stay"
had a problem upon arrival- our room was not ready., we were coming in mid-February from very cold Midwest in our winter clothing- needed to change in order to be able to function until room is ready. the check-in receptionist was not interested in any kind of help "change in the bathroom","cannot go to the swimming pool change area", "go to the spa"(the […] latter charges a daily fee upon entry as it is a separate entity). Complained to the manager - the daily fee was waived, we changed, stored the luggage and, by the time room was ready - we were upgraded with luggage already in the room, and ice cream sundays on the desk. The receptionist also offered a sincere apology -in writing! After that the stay was excellent! friendly staff, beautiful hotel, great food. A bit far from anywhere other than the beach - but the pools are wonderful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We quite enjoyed our stay in this cute little hotel tucked away near the lake in Wrigleyville. The rooms are slightly small and the decor slightly dated but the service and cleanliness are second to none. The location is fantastic being near the CMT Redline as well as numerous restaurants within walking distance. Wrigley Field is just three blocks away, […] but the hotel is in a pleasant quiet sidestreet that seems far from the hubbub. There is plenty of common area downstairs in the lobby and the breakfast is quite substantial. The Majestic was an excellent base of operations from which to enjoy our visit to Chicago. "Quiet, comfortable hotel"
This hotel is on the north side, a very quiet street and very quiet hotel. Staff were quite nice and we enjoyed our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet residential neighbourhood"
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was a bit spartan but comfortable and the hotel is in a lovely residential neighbourhood. We had decided to not stay downtown and this was a perfect spot near Lincoln Park. We also walked easily to Wrigley Field. A very walkable area. We would certainly return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel close to Wrigley"
Nice quaint hotel within walking distance of Wrigley. Nice for a short stay to see a game or two. Rooms comfortable with nice enclosed sitting room. Breakfast no frills but OK.Genuine Expedia guest review
I like to stay in real neighborhoods in big cities, and this hotel doesn't disappoint! Its clear this is a living commuity and you can easily walk to coffee shops, attractions, bars, and restuarnts. I also enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the hotel. The fireplace in the lobby was great to just read in front of after a busy day. The room sizes are on the […] small side, but seriously who needs a giant hotel room in a city like Chicago? You do have to pay for parking but its very reasonable for the area and its underground and very safe/secure. Cheapest mini bar I've ever seen too. When I go to Chicago again I will certainly be staying at the majestic. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was a nice hotel in an excellent location for me. The only issue was the heating/cooling. It is an older hotel. So, because of the single boiler situation, the rooms are either too hot or too cold. The hotel elects to keep it on the cool side and will bring a space heater to the room. But you have to request it and that was an uncomfortable situation […] in the middle of the first night. However, once that was resolved, my stay was fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quaint hotel in downtown Chicago."
We arrived early and was able to check-in. The room was small and not at all what was pictured. The elevator was out so we had to take the stairs. The hotel is an older facility. There is no coffee maker in the room which was an inconvenience in a.m. with the elevator being out. Parking was a bit of a pain if you want to come and go freely. However, […] the room was clean and stocked full of goodies. It's a great place for a one night stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by The Majestic Hotel Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback of your stay at the Majestic Hotel Chicago. While I am pleased to read your appreciation of the cleanliness of your room and our honor bar selections, I am of course very concerned of the areas which left you to feel disappointed especially with the elevator being down due to upgrades. We certainly look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back. Sincerely, Keith E. Scott Regional Manager Broughton Hotels
I've stayed here many times and always enjoy my stay. Hotel is doing some renovations which seem to be talking away from some of the old charm of this hotel. New furniture in room does not look like quality furniture just boards painted and assembled. Sorry to see the change in décor but will continue to use this hotel. Staff are always welcoming and […] it is in quiet neighborhood close to when I need to be. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ruining a good thing"
I've stayed at the majestic a lot, and I had lived by it for many years. Specifically during my last two stays, I was disappointed due to the fact that their boilers are on during the day, making the rooms very warm (actually, the radiator in the bathroom is so hot it needs to be covered with a towel while you're in there) however, once the sun goes […] down, they turn the boiler off leaving some rooms extremely cold. To make this worse, they never cover the window A/C units in the winter, allowing cold winter air to come rushing into the room. Apparently they are not able to control individual radiators, so it's all or nothing. On an overall note, they are currently "updating" the decor of the hotel. In my opinion they are taking a very quaint & warm feeling hotel into a stark, hard, sterile environment. In my opinion they are unnecessarily down grading the feel of the hotel and making it much LESS comfortable. I don't know whos decision it was to do it this way, but I think whoever it was needs to have their heads examined. As I stated I've stayed their a lot and the location is perfect for what I need a hotel for. However, due to the above stated reasons, I will be seeking an alternative next time I need a hotel on the north side of Chicago. Thanks for ruining a great hotel!!! "Comfort and convenience in Lakeview area"
I lived in Chicago off and on for several years, and never knew about this hotel. Now that I've stayed there, I will definitely be back. Much more economical than staying downtown, but in a great location close to the Magnificent Mile, easily accessible by bus or taxi. Very well situated if you're headed to a Cubs game, too. "Great hidden gem for peace and quiet"
I travel for business so I usually stay in the downtown Chicago core but, every now and then, need someplace close but out of the way to balance out the busy day. The Majestic Hotel is ideal for that. It's far enough away but located in a great neighborhood so I can feel like I'm part of a community while still meeting my business needs. They're starting […] a renovation now but the Old World charm isn't being removed...just enhanced. You can't beat the attitude and care of the staff, especially Mona and Tayvion (sp?). In summer, it's a great place that's not far from Wrigley so it can double as a haven near the sports. Being 1/2 block off Lakeshore helps and the nearby Belmont Harbor and park locates it well for runners, dog lovers, and more. It's hard to go wrong with such a winning combination! "Quaint and Cozy--Still a little old. :)"
The location is cold in the winter-close to the lake. The room was nice size, but the heat is radiator and wall heater heat. You had to get the controls just right to get the heat to come on. An old building, every footstep above you was heard as if it were in the room with you. Definitly would want the top floor. The cabinet in the room where your […] clothes would be stored was moved during the day while I was gone with no notice as to why. So, all of my belongs were moved with no notification. There were holes in the walls where sconces or pictures hung, both in the room and in the common area. Just a little too much not quite right for the price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great little hotel"
Spent 9 days here Thanksgiving week. Helpful staff, great beds and showers. Some of the furniture is old and uncomfortable but that's just secondary. Great location close to cabs and buses on Lakeshore and North Bway, 10 mins away from the EL. Like the common room in the lobby with fireplace and free coffee etc in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Classic old hotel."
Located in a leafy and lively neighborhood one block off North Lakeshore drive. Nice lounge with fireplace. Good choices for breakfast. (no hot food, but fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs etc). The rooms are smallish but clean. One exceptional thing was the alert, informed and friendly desk staff. Always helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review

This property is an excellent value in a terrific location. A lovely, leafy neighborhood location half a block from the lakefront make this a really good value. The property needs a cosmetic upgrade, which I heard from the staff is in the works. But, I'm more than glad I booked it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Boutique Hotel"
Great boutique hotel located just off Lake Shore Drive in a great neighborhood. Smaller and very friendly staff. The room was a little small but had great and comfortable bed with Internet and a good desk and chair. Many local restaurants within walking distance. They give you a map and description of all of the local restaurants.Genuine Expedia guest review
"'Shabby Chic' is an appropos description . . ."
. . . as mentioned in their literature. This hotel is geographically OK, close to a restaurants etc. and quaint in a number of respects - a former dormitory for a women's college. Parking was something of a hassle - drive around the block and park, then walk back through another building, around ot the hotel. All for a paltry $22 per day. The room […] was very small. The hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly. The room was small, but nice. Great location for walking to a ball game at Wrigley Field. The room is small, but cheap mini bar is a plus!!! The hotel was within walking distance to Wrigely Field. The front desk personnel was helpful to local restaurants. There is on-site parking for $22 a night or parking on lakeshore drive if you want to move your car M-F at 7 am. Might stay here again, but had a great experience!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
