This was a very nice quaint hotel. The only complaint I would have is I stayed on Halloween night and there seemed to be all of these young people running up and down the halls slamming doors, running up and down the stairs and yelling. I stayed at this hotel because I was running a 15k the next morning and needed my rest. I did not get any and was very disappointed. The front desk staff seemed like I was disturbing them whenever I had a question. They seemed to be more focused on whatever they were looking at on the screen in front of them than whatever was on my mind.

The hotel needs to be more specific with what the parking conditions are before you check in. Also it would be nice to be informed that parking was additional money. My room at home is bigger than the hotel rooms. There is enough room for a bed and the window is up to high to see out of. Also the "complimentary" breakfast is horrible. You get cereal and juice. I would not recommend this hotel as the money was more than what you get.

I stayed at the Majestic Hotel halloween night in preparation for a 15k the next morning. I really needed my rest but did not get it. I understand it was halloween night but there was no call for all of the door slamming, yelling up and down the halls or running up and down the stairs until 1 or 2 in the morning. You would have thought a school of kindergartners were staying there. And I never heard any hotel staff around attempting to tell people to keep it quiet. Overall the hotel was very lovely and I would stay there again, but I was greatly disappointed in the staff at the front desk. They did not seem to be interested in me or my needs rather were were more focused on whatever was on the sceen in front of them.

Very quaint hotel and location and the room was decorated nicely and spacious. However, temperature control was non-existent and the bathroom was a postage stamp. After my fourth stay at The Majestic Hotel in the last 10 years, I wouldn't stay anywhere else near Wrigley. The Majestic is located in a great neighborhood, just two blocks from the lake and just a few blocks from Wrigley, great entertainment and transportation routes. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are in good condition and always clean. Continental breakfast is nice, but get there early for best selection.

The hotel had a wonderful old world upscale charm to it. My king room was very small but very clean and comfortable for 1 person. I do not recommend trying to fit another person in the room. The mini suite is the size of a normal hotel room and is recommended. The location is in a very quiet area close to lake shore drive, wrigley field, and boys town. Nice and quiet.

The Majestic is not conveniently located if plan on walking to the main attractions. It worked beautifully though using public transportation. It is located on the north side about 5 blocks from Wrigley. There is a bus stop about 3/4 of a block from the hotel with frequent buses going to the museum campus and downtown. Bus passes can be bought at a grocery store a short walk from the hotel. This made it easy to get to the museums and the Magnificent Mile without dealing with parking and traffic. The suites have the nice touch of a TV in each part of the room making it easy to separate the kids section from adults if needed. If you book the junior suite, check with the hotel after booking as some have the sofa sleeper and other just a sofa. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. They knew the neighborhood well and could direct us to restaurants as well as what buses to take to get around. Overall a very good stay.

Yes, as others have said the rooms are small, but for our purposes it was big enough. I don't personally see the need for a big hotel room for a weekend stay. I arrived to Chicago on Saturday 7/25/2009 through Midway. The cab ride to the hotel was about $40.00. May I suggest you ask the cab driver before getting in if he/she knows where the hotel is. Our cabby got lost, so I paid him to learn the north side of Chicago! Upon arriving at the hotel, it was exceptionally well kept. The staff was very friendly and knowledgably of the area. The rooms were larger than expected and very clean. The king size bed and pillows were a little soft, but whose complaining. The neighborhood was is very well kept with tree lined shaded trees. Upper class clientele as far as I could tell. It is approximately 5 blocks to Wrigley field. Otherwise, it's about a $4.00 cab fare. It's a 10 minute drive to the Navy Pier costing about $12.00 for cab fare. If you wanted to take in the Sears Tower, it will cost you $17.00 for cab fare. If you rent a car, the cost for the garage is $22.00 a day. However, the staff will validate it upon your request. Parking is a premium, sort of like San Francisco. Only negative I saw is the cities 12% sales tax on everything. How in the world can anyone afford to live here with all these taxes and required permits. Overall I will stay here next year when the Astros are in town!

This is a beautiful hotel in downtown Chicago area, very reasonable for the price shown here on Hotels.com. The staff is very friendly and they allow for third party billing. The rooms are small but very comfortable and very clean. Guest should be aware that this hotel is 100% none smoking, so smokers beware. I don't smoke but was out the evening with friends that did smoke and because I returned to my room smelling of smoke, I got a very unpleasant surprise the next day charged to my credit card in an amount 3 times what I paid for the room. There was no mention of this at check in. Also, note that the hotel does not have street or its own parking, you must use a parking garage a block away and there is a separate charge for that. Other than these discrepancies, which I intend to fight, my stay here was one of the best I have ever had.

We stayed at the Majestic for a trip to Wrigley and you couldn't ask for a better location. We visited the many close-by bars and restaurants and were very happy with the diversity and fun atmosphere. The hotel itself was well decorated, and the lobby containing the free continental breakfast (well stocked and delicious, also exceeded expectations) was very cozy and inviting. As indicated by other reviews there is a little street noise, but that doesn't bother me and the elevator was being repaired which wasn't a huge deal, except we were on the 3rd floor. Even so, a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend. Forgot to mention, we didn't take advantage but there was a train stop 10 minutes away that can take you anywhere in the city.

I found the Majestic, a fine older hotel, the second of 3 sister boutique hotels in the area that I've stayed in, to be very charming...the linens were great, the water hot and the location near restaurants and galleries. I appreciated the free upgrade to a suite which was offered without question, although the only real downside of my stay was the broken elevator which won't be repaired till April, making the trip up 3 flights of stairs (the ground floor has three floors above it) to the top floor quite taxing, especially since I was just recovering from a back ailment. The suite had two small refridgerators, only one of which was particularly cold. Overall I would recommend the hotel, although if you don't like stairs, the staff will gladly carry your bags or you could request a lower floor. Very quiet location...I'll stay here again.
