Century Southern Tower Hotel - Tokyo

One of my favorite hotels, especially if I can get one of the corner double rooms. An unobstructed view of Tokyo, awesome day or night. Excellent staff. Convenient to Shinjuku Station, which is a stop for the Narita Express, as well as a hub to virtually anywhere in and around Tokyo.

This is the best place to stay in Shijuku. It is very close to Shinjuku Station and a short walk to Yoyogi station. The area around the Hotel is a great place to kill time, shop and eat.

Excellent hotel and first-rate service. We had a room on the 24th floor which was spacious and comfortable. The view of Tokyo was a smash, especially at night. Short walk to the subway station and just across from a giant department store with 35 restaurants on three floors. Starbucks just across the way. I was absolutely thrilled that I chose this hotel for our vacation. As others have said: perfect location next to train station (but surprisingly quiet!), Krispy Kreme and Starbucks out back door, delicious pizza restaurant in the lobby. It is conveniently located near Shinjuku's Southern Terrace exit to exit Narita Express train and there are many restaurants and shops nearby. wonderful location to get to ferries. also only two blocks from where the cruise ships dock-- so can just roll your luggage right to the dick.. helpul front desk. nice pool and hot tub. recommend eating breakfast there as it will save you some money. we even had a large deck to sit out on

While this hotel is somewhat outside of the center of Tokyo, its proximity to the Shinjuku train station (a direct train ride from Narita airport and access from the same station to many train and subway lines) made it generally convenient. There is a big department store nearby - good for shopping and restaurants. Finding an inexpensive breakfast nearby […] was not easy altho there are places in the train station if you can find them in the maze and there are 2 Starbucks nearby. Lots of great deals, like if you stay 2 or more nights. It's very close to Shinjuku station, a main hub. The room was terrific, spacious by Tokyo standards, great views. My only complaint might be that the wifi signal was weak so I had to use the ethernet cable. That's seriously the only complaint.

We stayed in the Century Southern Tower Hotel for four days in Oct. 2012 and it was a terrific experience. The limousine-bus from Narita dropped us off right at the front steps and it was so convenient considering we didn't want to lug around our luggage through the Tokyo trains after a 10-hour flight. The hotel itself is spectacular. The lobby is on […] the 20th floor and provides panoramic views of the city along with a nice bar/restaurant. Likewise, there is a small convenience store on the same floor as the lobby. The rooms don't come with a coffee maker, but do have a kettle, so we were able to buy instant coffee and soup from the convenience store for breakfast. Likewise, there is a Starbucks only steps away, along with a massive mall. And if you desire more traditional Japanese-style meals, there are a ton of options within walking distance. Most importantly, the hotel was right next to the JR Shinjuku train station making travel throughout the city a cinch. I can't recommend this hotel more. Such a terrific stay! Read more

I will definitely stay here again. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, spacious (for Japan standards) and I had a great view overlooking Yoyogi Park. It was convenient to the Shinjuku train station, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and the huge depatos across the bridge. The staff was courteous and helpful.

First of all, no one spoke any English at this hotel. Not even a little bit. Apparently, I arrived before their check-in and although no one was checking out, they didn't want to let me check in. I wasn't even staying for 24 hours as I had to return to Tokyo at 7am. I was extremely disappointed with their room. The bed was so hard as if I was sleeping […] on a board and the air conditioning didn't work so the room was stifling. I would never return to this hotel or this chain ever. I absolutely loved this hotel. I notice the rate for our mid-September stay was quite a bit cheaper than it was over the summer so it was a tremendous value in the rather pricey Tokyo. The staff were extremely friendly, the room was spotless and the proximity to Shijuku Station made this an ideal location from which to explore Tokyo. The breakfast buffet also has a great selection of western dishes which can be nice if you happen to be a bit of a picky eater. I just spent 9 days at the Century Southern Hotel in Tokyo with two teenagers. We loved it--the location couldn't be better. It's in a great part of Shinjuku on a "terrace" between office towers, most of which are huge department stores with great shopping and restaurants (warning: Tokyo is expensive. Think NYC on steroids. If your kids like sodas, […] buy them in vending machines for $1.50; in restaurants they'll run about $7.00). We had three single beds in our room, and although it was a little tight, we never complained. The housekeeping staff was terrific--the kids are pretty messy and the housekeepers were very kind in folding clothes that were left on the floor. Also, what was especially helpful at this hotel was large-sized toiletries in the shower (shampoo, conditioner, and body soap), unlike in the States where you get mini samples. The bathroom was spacious (unlike bathrooms in Paris or London). The towels were large, there was plenty of counter space, and the shower had great water pressure. If you're inclined to take public transportation in Tokyo like we were, the location is perfect. The Shinjuku JR and Metro stations are downstairs. If you fly in to Narita, take the Nartia Express to Shinjuku. Follow the signs that say "Southern Terrace exit"--don't exit just "Southern" or you'll walk a farther with your bags. We easily took the train to Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea (a must!), as well subways to the zoo, Ginza, various shrines, and Harajuku. Read more

This hotel is a wonderful surprise for our family stay in Tokyo. We booked a two-double-bed room for 2 adults and 2 kids, came to find out that there's a third bed added to the room. So we are able to sleep comfortably with a 9 year old and a 5 year old. We arrived early at Haneda Airport and went straight to the hotel. We had a little confusion since the address is listed as Shibuya, but, of course, the hotel is in Shinjuku. Don't make the same mistake! At the Shinjuku station take the west exit and cross the foot bridge. The hotel is just down the way on the left. There is a Starbucks and little Italian […] place just outside, along with some other shops, a Delirium Bar and an El Torito. When you enter the hotel take a quick right to the hotel elevator. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Most spoke pretty good English. We were able to leave our luggage before and after checking in and out. The lobby has wifi, but a unique password is required for all users and is given out by the front desk. Not much to say about the rooms. They were very acceptable! Clean and on the larger side by Japan standards. No complaints about our experience and no recommendations for improvement. It was a great place to stay! Read more
