AFAIK can tell - overall the big plus in Asia is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, giving their best to overcome a tendency to lack in... maintenance/upkeep. Example here - my original room had an unusable safebox - because a previous owner had taken the key with them, and no one had called in a mechanic to fit a new lock. Their solution - they moved me to another room! Big plus - hotel is relatively quiet for being located in the center of Hatyai Rooms are relatively cool - I did not need to run the air condition all night minus - selection of available TV channels by a Hotels.com guest on 12/12/12

My mother and I only stayed for one night but we had a great time here because of the impeccable service. Everyone in their staff is so nice and it was nice that they knew some English :) The location is great as it's in the heart of Hat Yai. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here overnight to break up our trip from Koh Lipe to Bangkok. The hotel is great value and in the middle of the city with a shopping centre across the road and food stalls outside. Clean rooms and even a turn down service with sweets.

Ok ... unfortunately the main restaurant was closed for a private function on the night I stayed so ended up in the US Embassy (McD) across the road for dinner!

the stay was so great, location is excellent. The hotel lobby setting is 5 star. If u wanna bring someone with classy taste, or to impressed, u can consider this hotel. All the shopping mall, central market, Robinson are in walking distance.

The service provided by Novotel hotel is excellent and the buffet breakfast is very nice. If you love tropical fuits and Thai's food then this is the place for you. All different kind of tropical fruits are selling so cheap here. We dined at this Japanese restaurant called Shabushi. It has all different kind of sushi and steam boats - all you can eat […] at a fixed cheap price per head. Tip: if you plan to dine there then you need to register your name at the restaurant to get a number before you go shopping. It can be up to 1 hour waiting. However, shopping for clothes is not good. We didn't find anything attrative. Robinson has some nice clothes but the price is almost the same as they are in Australia. If you love seafood then book a taxi for a day trip to Songkla. The driver can take you to the Songkla aquarium and fish spa and seafood restaurant for delicious seafood Thai Tom Yum and many other beautiful Thai's dishes at a reasonal price. Read more

Wobei die gesamte Innenstadt (aus europäischer Sicht) nicht gerade sehr einladend ist. Die Zimmer sind sauber und dem Preissegment entsprechend sehr gut ausgestattet.
