It is generally good hotel but you shouldn't get a room at street side, then you can' sleep well because of noise. Second night my room was downgraded to standard from superior, a little smaller room but very quiet. so overall, I was satisfied.

Spent seval days in Munich and stayed at the Mercure Central Munich. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Staff spoke English, They offered free bottle of water and soda in the rooms mini-bar. They also had an okay breakfast buffet in the morning. WiFi in room was NOT free. Be advised, while the hotel is very conviently located […] and was able to easily walk to the central Train station and Marienplatz and some other sights, the neighborhood the hotel is located in is very urban. There are several youth hostiles on the street. I never felt it was unsafe but, it was sometimes a little noisey and there were many younger folks coming and going. I had also requested an early check-in if available (in advance via email) and I was able to get into my room when I arrived at 8am after a very long flight. I would stay at this hotel again (but, would hope they'd offer free WiFi to their guests in the future). Read more

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The location is great for walking to downtown (Marienplatz) - only 5+ minutes. It was also very close to the Oktoberfest Wiesn grounds, which made it very nice to come and go, without having to take the S-Bahn. I'm not sure if the 'extras' we received were based on the type of room we reserved ("Privilege'), […] but our mini bar was available for free, and re-stocked daily with 2 beers, champagne, juices and water, and a chocolate bar. Great staff, breakfast, rooms. Perfectly located near train station, lots of tram lines, underground. Street is a bit student-oriented (lots of hostels). Place grew on us more and more each day thanks to its advantages.

Very clean and confortable. Walking distance to Main Station. We used the train from Airport to the Station. It paid about 20 Euros for two. The staff in the hotel was very friendly and accommodating.

great location near the main train station, although it was near some youth hostels, which made it a bit noisy late at night. we were upgraded to a loft on the top floor, which was kind of cool. location made it easy to get around Munich and everything worked out without any issues.

We stayed there in July for 3 days. If you book this hotel, avoid the lower floors facing street, quite noisy. In summertime, do not take 7th floor, this floor is under the roof and AC is inadequate. Hotel was over booked, and we had to stay at another hotel across the street for the first night. Staff was very apologetic and helpful, it's not their fault. I chose this hotel partly because of the great review and also because it has A.C. The surrounding is a typical train station area. There are 3 youth hostels on the same street. Hotel Mercure was a nice enough hotel. The rooms were clean, the shower was nice, and beds comfortable, but it had terrible service. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very helpful our entire stay. Parking was a couple of doors down and at a reasonable price. The breakfast was the best we had in Europe! And, a mimi bar with a salty snack, water, Sprite and a beer compliments of the hotel and refilled daily. A bowl of fruit was brought to our room the first day along with a large […] bottle of water. First Class! And we got a really good rate. The only downfall was the neighborhood. Not dangerous, but a little seedy. However, I would stay there again. We were walking distance to the main square where all the "action" was. Walk a couple of blocks and you were in a really nice area. We loved this hotel and would not only stay here again but will seek out Mercure Hotels in the future. Well this hotel looked just like the pictures. In fact, I think the lady in the picture helped us! Just kidding. The room was large and very clean. The bathroom was large too. In our room, we could close of the room, to the entry of the room and the bathroom. We had complimentary water and fruit which was nice. The kids got little duckies, a book, and […] a candy. That made their day!! The air worked good although we would have preferred it cooler. No big problem with outside noise unless windows were open but that is expected. We did have noisy neighbors upstairs one night, but not the hotels fault. We didn't try the restaurant as there was cheaper stuff not too far away. The walk to the city center was easy from the hotel as well as access to the trains, buses, and trams. We had no problem getting around. The parking underground was good, however, not clearly marked lots of cars including us, would go down a row and it would dead end. It is about 15 euro a day. There are a few places to eat nearby including quick places in the train station. Another reveiw mentioned the neighborhood and adult entertainment. There are a lot of casinos and a few adult stores, there wasn't anything too bad in the windows that would have bothered me with my kids. It is centered near lots of hotels and hostels. We would stay there again because of it's location and it being nice. The staff was very nice too and spoke fantastic english. Read more

Nice, comfortable hotel. Good decor. It was not extraordinary but I would stay again. Location is unbeatable. A few steps from the train station. 15-20 minute walk to Marienplatz.

At first I was not too impressed of the location near the train station but I did enjoy my stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. It was a comfortable walk to the Marienplatz, Glockenspiel and Viktuallienmarkt. Good value for a central Munich location.

Close to the train station, good walking distance to the Marianplatz. The overall area felt a little unsafe and seedy. Conveniently located hotel, just across road from the central station. We booked a family privilege room which was enormous and included free minibar and wireless, and a 'real' coffee machine. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent value for the price we paid.
