The Cancun Hotel Zone rests on a slit of land bound by a lagoon and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sunseekers crowd the white-sand beaches. At night, the action moves to the restaurants, clubs, and bars that line Boulevard Kukulcán, the area’s main artery. This road passes by the El Rey ruins, believed to be a king’s tomb.see all hotels in Cancun
Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Nice view of beach from my room. Only one problem..........they charge an extra $ 20 USD to use the WiFi for 24 hours. For paying $ 100 USD per night, I would expect free access to the WIFi..............Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great little hotel."
Wonderful little hotel . Very convenient location. Beautiful rooms, right on the beach, adjacent to shops, restaurants, buses. Miguel, Oswoldo and the young lady working reception were very pleasant and couldn't have been more helpful. High price for internet service was only drawback.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

There's really nothing wrong with the hotel but you feel like you're going back in time, to the 90s, when you get there. Everything is clean and well-maintained but just feel dated. Hotel was very quiet, almost felt abandoned, when we were there for a single night before heading down to Tulum. Restaurant staff was friendly but the food was way over-priced […] consdering the very mediocre experience. Overall a nice hotel that needs some energy, life ... and some remodeling. "beautiful boutique hotel"
Beautiful, unique little place right on the beach. We were really pleasantly surprised. Lovely decor, pool, and in-house restaurant, friendly staff. The only downside is that wifi is expensive, but if you can deal with that, this place is a much better than a giant resort.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"definitely not a 4 star"
Rooms look aged, bathrooms tiles were not cleaned well (stains all over). You have to call the front desk to get a key/lock to the safe. Front desk not very helpful with tourism information. The key to the room was able to open the room next to ours. The beachfront of this hotel is actually where the red flags are(no swimming allowed) so we had to walk […] down the beach a bit to the next hotel to actually swim in the sea. The only redeeming quality of this place was that it is right next to the mall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent like home and very convienient"
This hotel is small but likes home, there are a lot of sculptures, paintings and some pianoes. It generates artistic atmosphere which is very different from businss hotel. My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 9 days, we have amazing time in this hotel. The room we stayed is large which is more than 60 square meter. We can view the beautiful ocean […] when we sit on the bed. There are shopping malls like LiverPool and Luxury Avenue near this hotel. The staff in this hotel is also very enthusiastic. "Good hotel - very calm and quiet"
Our hotel room was big with wide partial ocean view. It was very clean, all the staff members were very polite and the breakfast (not buffet) was excellent. The wide beach with white sand was superb, and was right in front of the hotel. The hotel was small with superb paintings on the wall were beautiful and stone sculptures all over the compound. I […] heard that it was a house of a rich man that was converted to a hotel. The approach to the room was dark and was somewhat complicated. We stayed 9 days when toilet was leaking several times and airconditioning failed two times. No coffee in the room, but there was free drinking water bottles. There was a swimming pool which was under maintenance all the days. There is a taxi stand outside the hotel and one of the best Malls was very close. The public buses were very frequent and very cheap. For our local travel, we could not get much help from the hotel. We paid $149/day with breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Casa Turquesa is in a beautiful place."
Very nice but very quiet. I would have liked a little more action, i.e. music and fun. Very few people were there but all very nice. They didn't let me have a return shuttle ride to the airport and I thought this was part of the deal. I was driven to the hotel by my tour leader but had to return by taxi.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice enough, could use a paint job"
This 'boutique' hotel makes a great first impression - the lobby is very posh with artwork everywhere. However, on closer look, the upkeep of the place is a little behind, in terms of general maintenance. The hotel shows its age. Having said that, the rooms are very large and nice enough, and the pool area is very nice. We were one of a handful of guests […] when we stayed (Easter weekend), and as such the pool and restaurants were nearly deserted. The place may have had a different feel if it were more populated. "A hidden gem"
I remember when this place opened and it was the most prestigious place in Camcun. Celebrities and the super rich stayed here and it was out of reach for the rest of us. Now it's not, and you see the furnishings and decor that made this hotel a draw. The size of the hotel is perfect. We parked a few feet from the front door, and the art is beautiful […] and interesting. We will be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, comfortable stay, will recommend"
Casa Turquesa has a great location. Within 10 minutes of walking, you can get to two large malls, each with great eateries inside. The beach was very clean and not crowded by tourists. Hotel staff was nice and the rooms are comfortable. Try to get a room from floor 2 or above to get a view of the ocean. We also enjoyed having a bath tub on the balcony. […] Being able to jump in it after a day of traveling was relaxing. Things to watch out for: 1) slippery tile floor. This resort does not have carpet and if you don't dry yourself properly after getting out of the swimming pool or hot tub, you might slip easily. 2) Two nights in a roll, we got phone calls in our room at 4 AM. When we picked up, there was no one there. Asked the front desk and they didn't know what's going on because they don't have staff in early mornings. Recommended: Disconnect the telephone before going to bed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Romantic Getaway"
Beautiful hotel. Great for couples, not for those looking to experience the night life in Cancun. Local dinning is moderate to expensive. The dinning in house is lovely but expensive. Gorgeous pool, enjoyed to spa tub outside. Would visit again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A gem in the middle of the monster hotels..."
What a great find. You can stay at the Westin or some other huge hotel but you will pay more for less. I'd recommend adding the breakfast to your room- it has fresh fruit plate (big one), juice, breads, and choice of eggs (even an omelete) and a small portion of hash browns. "A few days at the beach while in Cancun"

"Families with young children"
We traveled with 3 small children (5, 7, and 9). Wanted a "do it yourself" vacation, so rented a car, chose a hotel with space (more than 1 bedroom), and did a lot of day trips. The hotel itself was outstanding. Our room (601) was a palace with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, right out on the beach. It is disconnected from the rest of the hotel but that […] worked for us. We ordered breakfast each morning and they delivered it promptly (the restaurant is right upstairs) in our room on the huge dining room table. Location is pretty far south in the hotel zone, which made trips to playa del carmen and xcaret a lot closer; but made trips into downtown cancun (only did it once) longer. Close to La Isla shopping and entertainment center with lots to do for kids. We wanted variety so chose not to do the all inclusive option. Not for families that prefer to stay in hotel/resort for entire vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Stayed ony 2 of 4 nights, and left. No air conditioning/broken in our room & it was hot and muggy. Said they'd fix it at 9 am next day, not good enough for us. Tried to give us room next door. AC not working well there either. Finally let us stay in a room with AC on first floor. Lobby and art nice. No ammenities, no hotel, Cancun or their own hotel […] info or room service menu in room. No coffeemaker in room. Asked for, never given. We were the only couple there Tuesday b4 Thanksgiving. No cushions for wood pool lounges or up at sunset viewing point. No service at the pool. no drinks, nothing. Were doing 2 areas of construction making all kinds of noise Wednesday. Couldn't sit t the pool or are room due to severe noise. There was minimum towels. 1 washcloth between the sink and far away shower. No Fire alarm in room, Empty on ceiling. Bed as hard as marble, giving back spasms. Could only take 2 nights. Slept on the loveseat. We thought we were going to a special romantic "boutique" hotel. You can tell they are not doing well and things are getting run down. "Quiet, intimate hotel!"
I stayed here four days during the slow season. The restaurants are very expensive, so ended up eating most of my meals elsewhere, or having snacks I purchased. Housekeeping was somewhat disappointing, as they didn't seem to have any set hours and would change my towel arrangements. I like a face towel in the shower, and it disappeared the last day.One […] day I had two hand towels, and the next day only one. The location is central and next to a fancy shopping mall. It is very nice to see the paintings and statutes everywhere. The view from my balcony was magnificent and I was able to appreciate marvelous sunrises. I also was able to have a massage and facial for only $50 US dollars, which was ok, not outstanding. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel is falling apart"
We stayed one night in this hotel, it looks impressive from the outside and the pool is nice however our room was falling apart; Electrical sockets loose by the bed, water dripping through the ceiling, TV remote broken, no hairdryer, no coffee machine, weak shower, receptionist did not speak english, no business center to print boarding pass, all in […] all pretty poor. This hotel is not much to look at as you enter, but once we got to the top of the driveway, that incredible view through the lobby put our minds at ease. I love the way the hotel is set up; they tood us it was full, but we barely heard anyone. The bathroom was gigantic and the view from the big balcony spectacular. I'd give the comfort and decor higher […] marks, but the bed was very hard, they were a little short on toiletries, and the decor of the rooms was a bit tacky. Not major issues, and the restaurant was very good (overpriced, though standard for the hotel zone). the only real problem was trying to get service at poolside (though the pool could use some cleaning and maintenance), but that did not cause much of a problem. It was incredibly quiet and oeaceful, and having the Kukulkan mall across the street made stocking up on cigars easier. We had a car, so the location was fine; without one you'd be kind of isolated, but if you like the hoteo zone experience, at least there are tons of buses and it's semi-walkable. Great for a base of operations during the sightseeing portion of the trip. Wonderful place to have a cigar and a drink while looking at the ocean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quick trip on business"
This is a very nice small hotel - excellent actually. The beach view Jr Suite was great - actually much bigger than needed for a 2 day trip - but I decided to scout out this hotel for a potential visit at another time. The only thing I think needs to be done is to have a lighted sign on the hotel facing the main road in the hotel zone. It is up high […] and not lighted so very hard to see at night. Given the many positive reviews of this hotel, it is disappointing to have such a different experience. While the staff are very friendly/professional, the room was clean, and the hotel is situated in a lovely area with beautiful views of the ocean, it was the overall condition of the room that was the letdown. The minor letdowns included a room with […] furniture that is seriously outdated, wall sockets not properly screwed in the walls, bath mats at the sides of the bed, no soundproofed walls, rusted drains in each area of the bathroom, and calcification stains in the bathtub. The worst issue was the musty smell of the room, linens and towels, strong enough to not be able to ignore, and a bed that did not feel clean. This place is very well intentioned, but needs to invest in updating the place so that it doesn't feel like one is trying to cover up the outdated state of the rooms. Fabulous boutique stay! The service was impeccable and friendly. The artwork was amazing - especially the sculptures. "Good for the Independent Traveler"
In the off season, the hotel seems to let things slide a bit, but we were proactive and asked for things that were not being offered, but we knew were available (like a table outside, and umbrella for poolside, etc..) but they were happy to accommodate when we asked... and then the next day...all the loungers had umbrellas out, and the restaurant set […] up all the outdoor tables. Casa Turquesa is a boutique hotel from a prior era unlike anything in the Cancun Hotel Zone. Wlth amout 30 rooms and suites you feel like you are in your own personal villa. "Beautiful & relaxing; just don't check in early"
My husband and I stayed 3 nights @ Casa Turquesa because we absolutely love small, cute, boutique hotels. Cancun has a ton of great 4 - 5 star resorts/hotels that boast numerous amenities, but the crowds due to the fact that they have hundreds of rooms always turn us off. Casa Turquesa was perfect in that regard--only about 20 - 30 rooms, never crowded, […] very attentive staff, quiet, relaxing and very enjoyable. The only negative we experienced during our stay was check in. Granted we did arrive at 2PM, but upon check in they offered us a room on the first floor basically right next to the pool, so I requested something higher up with a full ocean view. Well the young lady at the front desk insisted that the first floor room was all that was available. It wasn't until my husband's insistence did a oceanfront room magically become available for our full stay. She told us it had to be cleaned first but would be ready by 4PM (which was fine and worth the wait). 3.5 hours later (~5:30PM) we finally got our room. It was no doubt beautiful, but coming off a long flight and having to wait over 3 hours in the lobby in the heat was not a great way to start the vacation. All the servicemen, waiters, security guards, etc we ran into after check in were top-notch!! It was just that 1 lady at the front desk who spoiled our first day in Cancun. Fortunately, that didn't put a damper on the rest of our stay as we absolutely loved the room, the hotel, the restaurant, the drinks, and the overall experience and would definitely stay there again and recommend to others. "Needs more organization to be a 4 Star Hotel....."
First let me say this Hotel has a great beach, great central and safe location near huge shopping centers and great food. We stayed here because the hotel we usually stay at the Aqua went all adult. We have two children. Considering the Expedia rating of 4 stars I thought we were on the right track. This is not near a 4 star hotel but it could be with […] proper management, better food and a little time spent making the entrance more grand. We had a room issue. We paid extra for an ocean front room but were given a ocean view. The manager upgraded our room to a great big room. There was more confusion than necessary on that issue but it was handled above and beyond. As mentioned in the reviews all the staff was very helpful and friendly and really tried to make our trip special. Here is the difference between a 4 star and what we experienced. We had to keep asking to get our room made up, the turndown service that was supposed to be nightly happened only once, the cookies and coffee that were to be at our room in the morning were there 4/8 nights. It takes organization to be a 4 star hotel and at this time the place is just not organized. As far as the grounds and the beach, both are magnificent. The rooms are huge! The people are more than friendly. The food is decent at the hotel but not great. Like I said with some organization and better food it would be a 4 star hotel. Currently I’d say 3.25 stars but with a lot of personality. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Very nice hotel. Obvious close to the beach (everywhere is in Cancun) but good location nonetheless. I liked the slightly quirky decor with statues all around the hotel. "Good but could be a lot better"
Overall, the Casa Turquesa is not at all bad if what you want is a big room, big bathroom, and a simple guest service experience. I would stay again provided they fix their horrible internet service. What is good? The room was very spacious: I had a jr. suite with balcony and jacuzzi--very pleasant. The bathroom was huge with separate bath and shower, […] and overall it has a feeling of 1970's luxury--though of course times change...The internet service is expensive and it doesn't work--it cuts out when it is there at all, is very slow, and in this day and age is unacceptable, as are the charges. The beds are hard (good) but cheap feeling, and the bedding is polyester low quality sheets and unappealing artificial feeling bedcovers. I can't comment on the food and dining as I chose not to eat, in part because the dining experience looks very uninviting, not nicely lit, and sort of creepy feeling. The staff were very nice in a genuine and normal way, not like the faux-obsequiousness you get at most Cancun hotels. The pina colada I had at poolside was commendable in that it was made from scratch instead of from a mix, and that makes all the difference. The pool area is small, but if you are like us, where the beach is what counts, the beach here is excellent--very deep, and ideal for swimming, sunning. The location is very good just behind Plaza Kukulcan and its restaurants and shops. I would stay here again if they fixed the internet and updated the bedding and beds.
