"The pool and beach area were beautiful."
The staff at the restaurant opened for breakfast and lunch were excellent. Missy, the main hotel manager was also excellent. She gave us great advice on restaurants, checked in to make sure everything was okay and took care of a problem we had with our room service order. The pool and beach were beautiful. The hotel was older with very unique and beautiful […] sculptors and paintings with a beautiful winding stair case. The location was great-right next to a mall and restaurants. The only concerns for some people are: No work out room, tennis rackets and court were old, our hot tub outside our room was also old, only ESPN was in English and it is very quiet, with no bar, action, music, swim up bar. But if you want a good location, beautiful, unique and quiet it is great place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"gorgeous quiet hotel"
First stay here. This is a gorgeous hotel. All of the staff was so friendly and helpful, from the waiters to the guys replacing towels. Our room was spacious and clean. The housekeeper took good care every day. There are marble floors throughout which help keep it cool but the room has AC. At night the hotel was quiet. Loved the pool area and our beach […] was not crowded b/c the hotel is small. The restaurant at the pool is a great place to have breakfast and lunch. We didn't eat supper there. There is a fee for internet but worth it. We got signal all the way to the beach. We saw a few kids but not many (which is the way we like it). There are not kid activities here. Although the hotel is not adult-only, it has that kind of vibe. I plan on returning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Pleasant Stay . Just as expected."
A little bit hidden but once you find it you'll won't miss it again it is located right next to a shopping center but well away from main road. The entrance is not very nice, there is a hill to front door and parking is kind of awkward. Lobby is just as in pictures beautiful view to the turquoise sea and their well maintained grounds and pool. Check-in […] was a breeze. Miguel was very friendly and made us well welcome and were in our room in no time. Again rooms are just as in pictures, very spacious and clean. Had a garden room right by pool and restaurant. Which was great to walk right out to pool and watch sunrise or look down at beach and watch the weaves. We had breakfast included and it was excellent as was the service. Their breakfast breads are a must since they are made there each day. Found all staff friendly and always willing to accommodate. The beach of course is gorgeous and the sunrise different each day. This is a peaceful place and we totally enjoyed it especially after busy day. Check-out was also quick but not very friendly young lady not very interested since we were leaving I guess. We had a pleasant stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small hotel with lots of character"
This is a charming hotel with beautiful paintings and sculptures everywhere. It was very quiet and relaxing after a week in an all inclusive resort. The location is ideal, next to shopping and restaurants.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Nice view of beach from my room. Only one problem..........they charge an extra $ 20 USD to use the WiFi for 24 hours. For paying $ 100 USD per night, I would expect free access to the WIFi..............Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great little hotel."
Wonderful little hotel . Very convenient location. Beautiful rooms, right on the beach, adjacent to shops, restaurants, buses. Miguel, Oswoldo and the young lady working reception were very pleasant and couldn't have been more helpful. High price for internet service was only drawback.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

There's really nothing wrong with the hotel but you feel like you're going back in time, to the 90s, when you get there. Everything is clean and well-maintained but just feel dated. Hotel was very quiet, almost felt abandoned, when we were there for a single night before heading down to Tulum. Restaurant staff was friendly but the food was way over-priced […] consdering the very mediocre experience. Overall a nice hotel that needs some energy, life ... and some remodeling. "beautiful boutique hotel"
Beautiful, unique little place right on the beach. We were really pleasantly surprised. Lovely decor, pool, and in-house restaurant, friendly staff. The only downside is that wifi is expensive, but if you can deal with that, this place is a much better than a giant resort.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A boutique hotel"
Casa Turquesa is a small hotel, with direct access to the beach. The rooms are a good size, with sea views, and the ambience is idiosyncratic, with original art and statues dotted about. More of the latter can be found in the gallery attached to the hotel. Dining is of good quality, with meals all individually prepared (rather than the buffet style […] offerings that some larger hotels offer). Wifi is a charged extra which is rather expensive. There are numerous restaurants along the Kukulcan Blvd and we found La Isla centre (12 minutes walk away) a good place to visit for these as well as some shopping. "definitely not a 4 star"
Rooms look aged, bathrooms tiles were not cleaned well (stains all over). You have to call the front desk to get a key/lock to the safe. Front desk not very helpful with tourism information. The key to the room was able to open the room next to ours. The beachfront of this hotel is actually where the red flags are(no swimming allowed) so we had to walk […] down the beach a bit to the next hotel to actually swim in the sea. The only redeeming quality of this place was that it is right next to the mall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent like home and very convienient"
This hotel is small but likes home, there are a lot of sculptures, paintings and some pianoes. It generates artistic atmosphere which is very different from businss hotel. My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 9 days, we have amazing time in this hotel. The room we stayed is large which is more than 60 square meter. "Good hotel - very calm and quiet"
Our hotel room was big with wide partial ocean view. It was very clean, all the staff members were very polite and the breakfast (not buffet) was excellent. The wide beach with white sand was superb, and was right in front of the hotel. The hotel was small with superb paintings on the wall were beautiful and stone sculptures all over the compound. I […] heard that it was a house of a rich man that was converted to a hotel. The approach to the room was dark and was somewhat complicated. We stayed 9 days when toilet was leaking several times and airconditioning failed two times. No coffee in the room, but there was free drinking water bottles. There was a swimming pool which was under maintenance all the days. There is a taxi stand outside the hotel and one of the best Malls was very close. The public buses were very frequent and very cheap. For our local travel, we could not get much help from the hotel. We paid $149/day with breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Casa Turquesa is in a beautiful place."
Very nice but very quiet. I would have liked a little more action, i.e. music and fun. Very few people were there but all very nice. They didn't let me have a return shuttle ride to the airport and I thought this was part of the deal. I was driven to the hotel by my tour leader but had to return by taxi.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice enough, could use a paint job"
This 'boutique' hotel makes a great first impression - the lobby is very posh with artwork everywhere. However, on closer look, the upkeep of the place is a little behind, in terms of general maintenance. The hotel shows its age. Having said that, the rooms are very large and nice enough, and the pool area is very nice. We were one of a handful of guests […] when we stayed (Easter weekend), and as such the pool and restaurants were nearly deserted. The place may have had a different feel if it were more populated. "A hidden gem"
I remember when this place opened and it was the most prestigious place in Camcun. Celebrities and the super rich stayed here and it was out of reach for the rest of us. "Great location, comfortable stay, will recommend"
Casa Turquesa has a great location. Within 10 minutes of walking, you can get to two large malls, each with great eateries inside. The beach was very clean and not crowded by tourists. Hotel staff was nice and the rooms are comfortable. Try to get a room from floor 2 or above to get a view of the ocean. We also enjoyed having a bath tub on the balcony. […] Being able to jump in it after a day of traveling was relaxing. Things to watch out for: 1) slippery tile floor. This resort does not have carpet and if you don't dry yourself properly after getting out of the swimming pool or hot tub, you might slip easily. 2) Two nights in a roll, we got phone calls in our room at 4 AM. When we picked up, there was no one there. Asked the front desk and they didn't know what's going on because they don't have staff in early mornings. Recommended: Disconnect the telephone before going to bed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

What a great find. You can stay at the Westin or some other huge hotel but you will pay more for less. I'd recommend adding the breakfast to your room- it has fresh fruit plate (big one), juice, breads, and choice of eggs (even an omelete) and a small portion of hash browns. "Families with young children"
We traveled with 3 small children (5, 7, and 9). Wanted a "do it yourself" vacation, so rented a car, chose a hotel with space (more than 1 bedroom), and did a lot of day trips. The hotel itself was outstanding. Our room (601) was a palace with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, right out on the beach. It is disconnected from the rest of the hotel but that […] worked for us. We ordered breakfast each morning and they delivered it promptly (the restaurant is right upstairs) in our room on the huge dining room table. Location is pretty far south in the hotel zone, which made trips to playa del carmen and xcaret a lot closer; but made trips into downtown cancun (only did it once) longer. Close to La Isla shopping and entertainment center with lots to do for kids. We wanted variety so chose not to do the all inclusive option. Not for families that prefer to stay in hotel/resort for entire vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Stayed ony 2 of 4 nights, and left. No air conditioning/broken in our room & it was hot and muggy. Said they'd fix it at 9 am next day, not good enough for us. Tried to give us room next door. AC not working well there either. Finally let us stay in a room with AC on first floor. Lobby and art nice. No ammenities, no hotel, Cancun or their own hotel […] info or room service menu in room. No coffeemaker in room. Asked for, never given. We were the only couple there Tuesday b4 Thanksgiving. No cushions for wood pool lounges or up at sunset viewing point. No service at the pool. no drinks, nothing. Were doing 2 areas of construction making all kinds of noise Wednesday. Couldn't sit t the pool or are room due to severe noise. There was minimum towels. 1 washcloth between the sink and far away shower. No Fire alarm in room, Empty on ceiling. Bed as hard as marble, giving back spasms. Could only take 2 nights. Slept on the loveseat. We thought we were going to a special romantic "boutique" hotel. You can tell they are not doing well and things are getting run down. "Quiet, intimate hotel!"
I stayed here four days during the slow season. The restaurants are very expensive, so ended up eating most of my meals elsewhere, or having snacks I purchased. Housekeeping was somewhat disappointing, as they didn't seem to have any set hours and would change my towel arrangements. I like a face towel in the shower, and it disappeared the last day.One […] day I had two hand towels, and the next day only one. The location is central and next to a fancy shopping mall. It is very nice to see the paintings and statutes everywhere. The view from my balcony was magnificent and I was able to appreciate marvelous sunrises. "Hotel is falling apart"
We stayed one night in this hotel, it looks impressive from the outside and the pool is nice however our room was falling apart; Electrical sockets loose by the bed, water dripping through the ceiling, TV remote broken, no hairdryer, no coffee machine, weak shower, receptionist did not speak english, no business center to print boarding pass, all in […] all pretty poor. This hotel is not much to look at as you enter, but once we got to the top of the driveway, that incredible view through the lobby put our minds at ease. I love the way the hotel is set up; they tood us it was full, but we barely heard anyone. The bathroom was gigantic and the view from the big balcony spectacular. I'd give the comfort and decor higher […] marks, but the bed was very hard, they were a little short on toiletries, and the decor of the rooms was a bit tacky. Not major issues, and the restaurant was very good (overpriced, though standard for the hotel zone). the only real problem was trying to get service at poolside (though the pool could use some cleaning and maintenance), but that did not cause much of a problem. It was incredibly quiet and oeaceful, and having the Kukulkan mall across the street made stocking up on cigars easier. We had a car, so the location was fine; without one you'd be kind of isolated, but if you like the hoteo zone experience, at least there are tons of buses and it's semi-walkable. Great for a base of operations during the sightseeing portion of the trip. Wonderful place to have a cigar and a drink while looking at the ocean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quick trip on business"
This is a very nice small hotel - excellent actually. The beach view Jr Suite was great - actually much bigger than needed for a 2 day trip - but I decided to scout out this hotel for a potential visit at another time. Given the many positive reviews of this hotel, it is disappointing to have such a different experience. While the staff are very friendly/professional, the room was clean, and the hotel is situated in a lovely area with beautiful views of the ocean, it was the overall condition of the room that was the letdown. The minor letdowns included a room with […] furniture that is seriously outdated, wall sockets not properly screwed in the walls, bath mats at the sides of the bed, no soundproofed walls, rusted drains in each area of the bathroom, and calcification stains in the bathtub. The worst issue was the musty smell of the room, linens and towels, strong enough to not be able to ignore, and a bed that did not feel clean. This place is very well intentioned, but needs to invest in updating the place so that it doesn't feel like one is trying to cover up the outdated state of the rooms. Fabulous boutique stay! The service was impeccable and friendly. The artwork was amazing - especially the sculptures. "Unique hotel in the middle of concrete jungle."
Cancun was our first stop of a 2.5 weeks trip and given we were after >10hours flight we decided to splash out on a decent hotel (we stayed 2 nights there). Casa Turquesa was wonderful given that most other hotels around there are comfortable, but completely soulless concrete blocks. Casa has plenty of character, with wonderful paintings, sculptures […] and interesting furniture. There is a degree of luxury as well - our suite had a jacuzzi on the balcony, and we loved the fact that the bed is positioned in a way that you can watch the sunrise without even moving out of it. :) Cherry on the cake - you're right by the beach, and the water is really amazingly turquoise :) The on-site restaurant is very good - both food and service. Generally staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble (especially our receptionist was an amazingly friendly and helpful guy). There is a shopping mall very close if you want to get some snacks/water, and we quite enjoyed cheap and cheerful restaurant in there for dinner (sorry, can't remember the name, but it's upstairs and runs a "2-for-1" on margaritas, which BTW are very yummy, and HUUUUGE!). Overall, a wonderful hotel and we would not hesitate a second to stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Affordable luxury, great service & aging gracefuly"
I was wary of staying Cancun given the reputation for all inclusive holidays and machine-like hotels but Casa Turquesa was a pleasure. The staff were warm and friendly in a manner rarely encountered in a boutique hotel or even a B&B - way ahead of the big hotel chains. Art work is everywhere to been seen, some of it awful but some excellent. I saw references […] to an infinity pool in other reviews, let's be clear, it's not an infinity pool but it does have a superb view although shallow. It's hard to find a bad beach in Cancun - this is no exception - the beach is spectacular with a benefit that the hawkers seem to blissfully ignore you. Brilliantly located in walking distance to La Isla & a number of excellent (non-hotel) restaurants. The hotel is aging and lacks for some investment, which translates into relatively cheap access to luxury - nearly all rooms have a view of the sea & are extremely spacious. The air con was however loud and if you are a light sleeper and heavy user of aircon you may find sleeping peacefully difficult (I'm not sure if this is hotel wide problem). However if like me you prefer to rely on the sea breeze and exhausting yourself swimming in the Caribbean, eating, drinking and enjoying the sun you'll not notice the air con. Restaurant did a good breakfast and passable lunch at reasonable prices. All in all, excellent value for money, enjoyable hotel and I shouldn't have worried about having to stay in Cancun. "June stay 2014"
Casa Turquesa is a quaint hotel, and was very quiet in late June. Our room was not ready at check in, so we had drinks by the pool served by Ernesto; very nice guy who brought us pico de gallo & chips on the house. Pool area is lovely with loungers & umbrellas, and steps down to the beach are palapas with loungers as well. Next door is high end mall, […] but if you keep to your right on the main street, there are lots of restaurants, OXOs, and about 3 blocks is La Isla an outdoor mall designed to look like Venice complete with gondolas, and there's restaurants, shops, an aquarium etc. We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel, and the coffee was quite good. Our room was 205, and it was spacious, very large bathroom with sitting area, walk in shower, separate marble bath and closed off toilet area. Jacuzzi on our deck was a nice option. No complaints, just a few snafus with paperwork, but Missey oversaw it got sorted out. As per the complaints of the expense of the Wifi, it really is a hit and a miss to work, and at the rate per day, it might be easier to go to a local restaurant for a drink and get caught up on email. Overall lovely short stay at C.T., and Missey in particular was extremely helpful with us getting to our next accommodations and offering advice etc. Thank you Missey. It's staff like this that invite returning customers back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
