The hotel is along West Bay Road, but at the very beginning of Seven Mile Beach. I felt as if I were in an old rundown apartment building. There are dishes and silverware; however, mine were rusted and there was no dish soap or paper towels provided. The safe in my room was also broken. I do not plan on staying here again, even though I did not have very many issues. Also rooms can be rented by the month and many locals actually live here. They do not super ate those who are living at the hotel from those that are temporary, weekly guests, which I did not like.

I feel it is getting bad reviews by people who do not get to other Islands. Grounds are kept up Pools cleaned daily. .Rooms are small. I was surprised to see no hair dryers, Little things like air dryers, clock radio's snd irons would be helpful. The beach was one of the nicest for the size and price. Very quite and peaceful beach. Needs the restaurant to open up again. Little things could be down to make this a #5 hotel.

Was only there overnight but must say I'm glad! The girl that checked us in was pleasant & friendly and the room was clean. Rooms have outside entrances and the trip down the walkways to the rooms appeared that many of the rooms were perhaps occupied by local residents?? There were some balconies full of laundry hanging out to dry. The "front desk" appeared closed when we returned from dinner and there was no alarm clock in the room so we depended on a cell phone for an 04:45 wake up call. "Front desk" still closed when we wanted to check out at 05:30 so we just got in our car & left! While packing the car to leave, someone was sleeping on one of the couches!! (It is an open air, walk thru, drive thru type reception area) For the money spent for the night, we expected more!!

For the price on this expensive island I think it was good and go back. The only thing I would say is I wish they had wifi in the rooms. If you had a plug you could pug into net but other wise you had to go to the hotel lobby to get wifi.

I had read all the reviews before my trip. I got exactly what I expected. For the price it is perfect. Not the nightmare that I expected. When my husband and I go on vacation we spend all our time out doors. We only want a place to lay our heads at night and shower. This is the perfect spot for it. It was nice to be able to have access to three pools when we wanted to and easy access to the beach and snorkeling. We called Beach Bums to rent a jet ski and take a tour of Sting Ray City......ask for Yusef. He picked us up from our hotel and was very knowledgeable and helpful. If you need to rent a car call Andy's Car Rental. We had a memorable time and can't wait to go back next year. We will definitely stay in the same hotel. It is within walking distance to everything in town.

This is an older hotel that also serves as an apartment complex. The lobby is dusty, open air, dark and outdated, as are the surrounding hallways and common areas. However, what caused me to rate it as a 3 overall, instead of something lower, are 1) The staff were extremely helpful about any request or question, 2) The room itself was fine - everything worked - good A/C, clean sheets and towels, working kitchenette, several plugs, several international TV stations, 3) Central location. However, the floor in the room was very dirty - so I wore shoes or socks while there. It is not very close to the beach. The property smells a bit moldy. The internet only works in the lobby, but the lobby is open air and can sometimes be a bit crowded. If you are travelling during high season, and need a less expensive business hotel, you can make this one work.

Cheapest hotel on Grand Cayman. Definitely no frills. Door to outside balcony on fifth floor didn't close all the way or lock. Got a bath mat on one out five days. The room was very clean and cleaned each day. There is no "Do Not Disturb" sign, so this isn't optional. Great location! Nice looking pool, although we didn't use it. No closets, but the room is big with 2 queen beds and a day bed. Staff are very pleasant, but not overly speedy in responding to requests (help with locking the safe).

Positives First: There were no bugs. There were no rodents. The room was fairly clean and serviceable. It was affordable. That's where the positives end. The lady at the front desk was rude and totally useless. The room was ok but had no iron, no hairdryer, no alarm clock (in fact no clock of any kind) and was as basic as they come. It did have a small kitchenette which was nice. Half of the hotel had people living in it. No kidding. It was full of migrant type workers on the island which made it weird. The internet worked great but there was no wireless at all. Unless you have a laptop with a T-1 plug you're plum out of luck. There were two pools. One was nice and the other seemed to be littered with the migrant workers kids and family's. This "hotel" (or more appropriately hostel) was NOT on the beach if that is important to you. If you are here to dive "Spike" down in the dive shop outside the hotel was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Freinds stayed at the Marriott down the street and I highly recommend staying there instead. Either way, enjoy GCM. Great island.

This hotel is a large complex that is now largely occupied by permanent residents seeking cheap housing. Years ago this was a nice place but now it is in my opinion unsuitable for children. We paid $200 USD for Ocean views and on arrival had none. Complained to manager but virtually said too bad! No wifi available except in the lobby even though advertised as suchlike. We used the next door pool and beach as the pool area was grotty same as the rest of the apartment building. It is not a hotel and expedia should not advertise it as such. It has been set up as an apartment building for workers, who have there washing hanging everywhere, make the front lobby a bar and pool room after work, so the management will take a small percentage of hotel guests to make up the numbers. Staff don't know what is going on half the time and are dis interested the rest, would definitely not return and would not recommend. Bathroom had mould, you have to buy everything, including tea and coffee, a kitchenette in the room, but no dishes. And the locals look at you as if you are mad, when you mention where you are staying. Not a hotel.

The front desk clerks are you and not knowledgeable about businesses in the area, have no maps of the hotel facilities, and don't know anything about stations available on the TV. They didn't mention anything about getting swim towels or the times when the pool would be unavailable due to swim lessons and dive lessons. The pretty falls in the pool didn't look like they had worked in years. The sliding patio door to the room was approaching impossible to open to get to the little patio. Every one of the metal lounge chairs was missing two or more of the plastic straps at a critical location. The grounds crews were kept busy cleaning up after the free range chickens. They advertised internet connections, but there was no computer available for guest use. You have to trespass through the adjoining property to get to the beach, or walk over 100yd down the highway to get to an access point, and that part of the beach is separated from the 7 mile beach by a wall from another property that extends into the water. It wasn't terrible, it was not great.

We were not expecting much based on the price and we only needed it for 1 night before our flight home. Our room however was in the process of being painted an hour or so before check-in. We were shown our potential room and told it may not be ready at all and there were no more rooms. The backside of the hotel has "condos" which is the view this room had. Less than desirable. Our check -in clerk did come to the rescue and found us a room with a garden view that was ready. She was extremely helpful. We were satisfied with this room for the night and the price was right for Grand Cayman. You are given beach and pool privileges from the ocean front resort in front of this hotel. Great beach and fun snorkeling spot. Many restaurants within walking distance. Wi-Fi in the lobby only. What appeared to begin as a disaster ended well. Don't expect 5 star in Grand Cayman for $200/night. Our room did have a small frig. and coffee maker.

This "resort" was very disappointing. Many people actually live at Treasure Island. Our air conditioner did not work. The lock on the door was almost impossible to operate and there was not a second lock or security device. The front desk called for a taxi for us four times but the taxi never did come. The sheets and towels were clean but everything else was only marginally clean. We felt that we were being scrutinized by the men who were sitting outside while we were there. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone - not even strangers on the street. Very disappointed that this hotel was even a choice offered by your company.

The minute you step on the elevator it is evident that this hotel is not well maintained. There is a strong, musty smell and the floors are dirty and sticky. The bathrooms are severely outdated. In our two rooms both of the shower heads had only a trickle of water coming out of them. Our wives couldn't even wash their hair. Many of the rooms are rented out to locals who work in the area so there are clothes lines and random personal belongings all over the property. One entire wing of the resort is condemned due to severe mold problems. The "resort restaurant" advertised on the website is padlocked closed and the workout room was entirely inadequate. There were disappointed looks on the faces of every guest checking in and people were scrambling to find another room elsewhere on the island. I do not recommend this so called "resort" to anyone. Our experience with this hotel tarnished an otherwise great trip to the lovely island of Grand Cayman.

Not a good property at all. Way way over priced for what you get. It certainly appeared to us that the property is a rental property for extended stays or perhaps for long term renting. When we walked into our room the musty smell was obvious. Cleanliness level was very disappointing. If we were offered a room at this property for even $25 bucks we would pass and go elsewhere.

We stayed at this hotel many years ago when it was new and very upscale. It is now dated and rents many of its rooms on a long term basis. However, it is right on the beach, has 3 beautiful swimming pools, the room overlooked the pool and was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful, prompt to get whatever we needed, and let us check in early. Billy Bones restaurant out back of the hotel has very nice food - the weekend special was barbecue chicken, rice and beans, potato salad and slaw. Very tasty!

Did a flight hotel combo through Expedia. No problems. I go there for business each month so I have a car. The location is very good. A little far to walk downtown but can walk to Camana Bay easily. The place is very dilapidated and in ill-repair. The first room I had was an Island View Suite - the view outside my door was the parking lot, the view from the limited balcony was the pool bar. The room temperature was governed at 78 so I could not change the temp. There was no soap but 2 bottles of shampoo. Coffee maker but no coffee or supplies. Firdge and oven/stove fair. The security safe requires a security guard to come up and reset but they do not come to work until 4 pm. When I asked to change rooms they said no problem. The move was seamless. New room with good thermostat, no soap, no shampoo but 2 bottles of conditioner. View was the same. Beds comfortable but I am not sure how clean. I think the biggest disappointment was when walking on the premises I felt I was in a third world country. It seems that they rent or sell half of their rooms to locals and they do not keep their places very nice. It is like a run down city apt bldg. I never felt unsafe. The beach access is a private cul-de-sac of sand that is fairly nice but small and you cannot go on either side of this because the beach stops. There are rocks - no sand. Their little convenience store on site had rude people. Prob not a place I would go back to.

11 years ago I lived at the Treasure Island Condos so I also knew the quality if the hotel. Boy, has it become run down in the past decade. I don't think they repainted any of the stairwells since Ivan hammered the condos and hotel. My friends who live in Grand Cayman now tell me this hotel is well-known on island for drug and prostitution dealings. I had no problems when I stayed there but the hallways and stairwells looked bad. The shower trickled and the facets were very dated. If you did not wear sandals in your room your feet would get black from dirt on the tile floor. Convient location and nice pools.

equiv of a 2.5 star miami hotel....but twice the price cos its Grand Cayman. Nothing you can do about that....staff were nice, room very clean...and the beginning of the 7 mile beach. Perfectly acceptable. Hotel is in process of being sold, and some rooms are rented for $ a month to bartenders in the area.

Treasure Island Resort, is centrally located within walking distance to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and bars. The buses to down town passes right there, which is a plus. We walk to Coconut Joe- one of the good restaurant and bar, Wendy's, KFC, the Wharf restaurant and Kirk Supermarket. The room is furnished with a stove, microwave, dishes, knives and spoons, a little fridge and a coffee machine. The aircondition worked very well. The room was clean. However, there was insufficient lights in the room. In the daytime, it is alright because the room is nicely situated and faces the courtyard thereby getting all the natural light. The front desk clerks were rather helpful and polite. The swimming pool is delightful, large, well maintained and relaxing. Overall, our stay at this hotel was quiet, enjoyable and we will stay there again.

There are locals living there and they seem to be the problem. They absolutely trash the lobby area every night! The cleaning staff is up bright and early every morning to remedy this, though. The staff was great! The convenience store downstairs is open 7 days/week and has what you need. There are other shops within 5 minutes walk as well that will cover anything else you might want! The beach they share with one other hotel only is wonderful with plenty of chairs and a nice protective wall with snorkeling there. The pools and poolside bar are fabulous. They have a diveshop in the hotel with another one within 5 minutes away. The price of this hotel is significantly lower than the neighboring ones as well. Great for a weekend getaway due to price and location. The only downside is the local boarders. But I guess if you can't beat them, you can join them!

I have stayed here twice in two months. The front desk staff were great. On of the housekeeper were very rude when I told her I did not need service so I got no service the next day. Billy Bones was excellent. Christina and Jesse were great!!! Food at the bar easy excellent. Saw no bugs as previous people mentioned. For the price its a good deal and would recommend to younger people without kids. It seems like a place for a younger crowd . Will go back!!!!

My husband and I just got back from a stay at Treasure Island. We chose the hotel for its reasonable rate, which is great for an island that is otherwise very expensive. Our room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and there is a grocery store at an easy walking distance. It was definitely not a 5 star resort but since we werent looking to class it up and knew that going into it, we were very happy with our stay! It has some incredible snorkling right off the coast which is great if you want a down day to just relax. I 100% recommend going here if you want to do an attempt at Caymans on a budget without going super low class. Just dont be expecting the Ritz! :) Happy travels!

We did not spend a great deal of time in the room, as the pools and beach were so beautiful. This hotel is very convenient, with two pools (including swim-up bar with very good pub-style food) and a gorgeous beach, all on the grounds. There are good restaurants, a dive shop, large grocery and the rest of 7-mile beach within a close walk. Downtown is an easy 1 hour walk, or a quick cab ride. The enclosed cove was brilliant for snorkeling. The hotel is dated, but the room was clean and had an internet connection and cable. Wi-fi and another small bar were available in the open-air lobby. We were lucky in asking for, and getting, a 5th floor room with an almost unobstructed view of the ocean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Make sure if you ask for a wake-up call you write it down for them, and have a back-up. Gorgeous sunsets from the beach. The hotel also seems to be a long-term residence for either its employees, other young workers on the island, or both. Overall a reasonably priced and enjoyable stay.

We knew it was budget, nice pool and short walk to beach, but the place is very tired, worn down and dirty. The attached pic shows where the floor wall and tub meet in the bathroom. You can see what color the grout used to be. When we got into bed on our first night, the bottom of our feet were gross. Sliding door to the balcony was way past its useful life. Took a huge effort to open or close and had no handle. Headboard not secured to bed or wall. Common halls and elevators had same spills and cigarette butts on them for days. Beyond being old and dirty, we were given 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and a roll of toilet paper. No second roll, no hair dryer (available at front desk), no alarm clock, no phone, no tissues, no wireless internet so iPad/iPhone was a no-go. Spend a little more and go somewhere nicer.
