Convenient location and clean rooms. The service was painfully slow. Little things could have been better: Ice machine broken, bed falling apart, shower water not hot. Loud band from the bar started up at 8PM. Nice but aging hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is the location everything else about it is a what if and maybe. You can't bring any drink not even orange juice around the pool area if you don't buy it from the bar. Your wife or girlfriend need to wear a name tag because the staff may not remember her and she will be asked to leave the hotel I take that to mean no […] other guest allowed in your room even if you have paid for a room for two persons. The battery in my room safe needed to be change and after 3 calls and 1 trip to the front desk it still was not changed until the next day. Hotel and room were very nice; however, the room walls were a little thin, and I could hear the people next door laughing. I could also hear the noise from the street, seven floors down, and from the casino. Additionally, none of the registration staff spoke English, which made the registration process somewhat awkward.

The service was horrible by the bar staff. The bell hops and the waitress for the VIP dining was the highlight of the whole hotel. Had to make 4 requests in 24 hours for ammenities that were included with the room. Staff was not very friendly when having to speak English.

Location was good and some of the staff members were excellent while others were just dradful and made the whole experience of the hotel a lot worst than what it could've been. We actually checked out with two nights remaining in our reservation and moved to a much better hotel about two blocks away and saved what remained of our vacation.

My stay was only for one night, the staff was courteous and helpfull. I was dissapointed that there was no coffe maker in the room, sometime you desire a cup of coffe without having to call room service. Also for such a nice room the size of the TV is really small.

Nice, friendly, helpful place, with a good central location. The business office was very useful. We liked the bar by the pool and its employees. We recommend avoding the hotel's restaurant, especially the brucnhes, which are overpriced. Several restaurants within easy waqlking distance are better and cheaper.

Stayed here, big mistake. Let me start by saying you can forget, and I mean literally forget getting any help or service from the front desk via phone. Even if you go down to the desk their archaic checkin system takes forever so the line is ridiculously long. Basically they just let the phone ring at the front desk and ignore it, I watched them do […] this and also tried to call them about 20 times to no avail. Now the room, small and somewhat smelly, and they were nice enough to leave us an old dirty pair of shoes in the garbage, One towel on the rack, that´s why I had to call the front desk to get more towels...Also in their pool area, which, the pool is filthy, they had an all night salsa singer every night, so as loud as a concert until midnight every night, which I love to party as much as anyone, but when I just got off 21 hour worth of travel and flights I just want to sleep. I basically came back to the city the next weekend and negotiated an almost similar rate one block away at the Torres de Alba and had a freaking suite that was amazing full kitchen, massive memory foam king size bed, huge bathroom, 2 flat screens a magnificent view of the city, marble floors, seriously why would anyone ever stay at the decaying Continental... My first review, this hotel was a horrible experience! Dec 22, 2011 I arrived at the hotel 9:00pm no Bellman /boy at the front of the hotel to help with luggage, the taxi driver assisted me into the hotel and waived at the Bellman/ boy to come. The Front Desk spoke very little English, as well as the entire staff at the hotel. Ordering room service […] or requesting the cleaning staff for basic things took for every to explain. In the mornings the cleaning staff took up conversation outside my hotel room, very loud, until I opened the door then they moved away. My room without a balcony, the sliding windows do not lock or shut close properly, water pipes make a loud noise every time your neighbours flush their toilet or shower, the walls are paper thin believe me you hear everything, light bulbs in bathroom burnt out for my entire stay, no face clothes, bathrobes, and the mini bar has very few items which should be thrown away. I called the Front Desk to arrange for a taxi in the morning, 4 times no answer, called the operator who transferred me 4 additional times, front desk picked up then put me on hold then disconnected me, called the operator back ask to speak to the hotel Manager, little to no help, he told me that the Bellman would put a copy of my bill under my door for review: HE Never did” I could go on, After 10 days I was glad to leave. Clean and appointed to western standards. Excellent food at unbelievable low prices. Only issue is street noise. Ask for a high floor / pool view or you will hear every bus go by. (They don't require mufflers and honking is a form of communication.) The hotel is very nice, very clean, and our room was large and quite comfortable. The staff members are polite, accomodating, and friendly. The casino is tiny. Only a couple tables, and a very small number of slot machines compared to Atlantic City and Las Vegas casinos. The neighborhood has a lot going on - several bars and restaurants in the area. […] But there was a lot of construction going on and traffic was congested and, frankly, a little scary. Armed security guards are EVERYWHERE. There is a little shopping center nearby, but not much selection of actual stores. Overall, the hotel itself was very nice, but if you're going to Panama for several days and want stuff to do, I would suggest staying near the beach or going out to the rainforest. The Hotel was fine, but not amazing. It was clean, had spacious rooms, and a decent breakfast. The service at the front desk was a little slow and felt understaffed by times. Overall, my experience at the Continental Hotel and Casino in Panama City was disappointing. The staff at the front desk was mediocre. It did not help us at all. The hotel looked like a museum (and smelled like one too). Although, I have to admit that the housekeeping staff was very diligent, and the rooms were sparkly clean.

Although the entrance to the hotel is rather hard to get to because of all the one-way streets, it's location is excellent! We were in walking distance to many local restaurants, markets and stores to go shopping in, and when we wanted American cuisine, there was a McDonald's across the street. The rooms were very clean and nice. Plenty of amenities, […] but there was not a microwave. There was a refrigerator they kept stocked with water, and liquor. Be prepared for the prices, they are awesomely cheap compared to the US. We had spectacular views of the city. Panama City over-all is a noisy city, so expect to hear LOTS of honking and horrible exhaust sounds from the cars and trucks. We paid for the Deluxe package that included breakfast, and I must say, it was well worth it. Anything you could want they had. If you stay on the 10th floor or higher, on days Monday-Friday, you get to dine in a private breakfast area on the 11th floor and it is exceptional! All of the staff was friendly and eager to serve. Overall the experience was phenomenal, and I would recommend anyone stay here! Especially for the price!! Read more

The hotel is now on my "avoid at all costs" list. Not only is the staff unfriendly and unaccomodating but the Club Level Lounge (we stayed in a club level room) was closed all weekend even though we were told at check-in that we would be taking breakfast there during our stay (Tuesday-Sunday). To make matters worse, the hotel decided to hold a rock […] concert in the pool area (our room overlooked the pool are from 12 floors up) that BEGAN at midnight and ended at 3 AM! The next morning, several guests who were checking out with us for the early flight (6 AM) to catch the 4:30 shuttle/taxi complained that they did not sleep a wink and the shift manager simy told us all that "many neighbors and guests had called to complain"....no kidding Eienstein!
