"Six Flags Trip with two Families"
08/18/14 BloomfieldGuy Bloomfield, Indiana
Split review. The rooms were clean and the staff were hospitable. We typically stay at residence inn's and these rooms were a bit small for "suites" in comparison. Requested additional linens/pillows and were informed that they were out if supplies. This was a bit underwhelming. That being said, this location was a good value for a quick evening's rest from the road. Not a place I would recommend for a multi-night stay.
"Team friendly for a long stay"

Our youth baseball team families stayed at the TPS in Fenton for 8 days and it was truly an affordable, accommodating hotel for our needs. With 12 booked rooms for so long, a couple issues are bound to arise (an air conditioning issue, a missed cleaning of the room, a couple warnings that we were too loud) from time to time and the staff was very friendly, fast and understanding in all of these situations. All of the rooms were very nice, smelled good, and it was nice to have more than just the standard hotel room for that long of a stay. If we were going to go back, we would certainly return.
"Best place for families in SW St. Louis County"

We stayed once again at this TPS location and on our most recent visit, it was for a death in the family so not the best of circumstances. I am reviewing this place again because we were only given a two day notice about the upcoming funeral and typically it's next to impossible to find a great hotel room in less than 2 days. The TPS in Fenton delivered! We are a family of four, our boys are ages 5 and 2, and the TPS not only made sure we had a two-bedroom suite, but they made sure we got it at a very reasonable rate! They have made a lot of changes to this location since our last stay. First off, they have updated the rooms! They were definitely outdated and I liked how they put in new carpet, new furniture, and even upgraded the TVs. Secondly, they now have a breakfast room! It's amazing how far this hotel has come for its breakfast. At one time you were lucky to find wrapped pop-tarts and danishes in the lobby. Now they have a really nice continental breakfast in their brand new breakfast room. I guess up next is having a hot breakfast with all the fixings! Of course, as with any Marriott chain hotel, the staff is always top notch and always eager to assist. We didn't experience any problems in our 3-night stay. But I do wish they would invest in a heated pool! Even in the heat of St. Louis, that water was absolutely freezing! Our kids loved it, I could stand it to a point, but after some time playing around, they were shivering. I also wish TPS would offer king sized beds! My wife and I sleep on a king bed at home and we are so used to it that whenever we are forced to sleep on a queen size, it seems like we're on a twin! So it is quite cramped, IMO. So bravo to the Fenton TPS! As long as we keep visiting St. Louis (we have family there so visits will definitely be in order) we will only be staying at the TPS if we aren't able to stay with a family member!
"Hit and Miss"

We like to stay in a suite if possible on vacation, mainly for extra space and to limit restaurant eating a bit. This hotel was nice for those reasons. The beds were very, very uncomfortable. The breakfast area was a little cramped. Plenty of food and staff were friendly. Worth our points visit, but not sure I would choose it for a paid stay with so many other options available.

If you are looking for a room with a view of the Arch and downtown, this is the wrong hotel for you. BUT, if you do not mind an industrial park and are looking for a quiet, clean hotel with a good price, right off the highway easy to get to downtown ST. Louis, easy drive to Route 66 then this is your place. We stayed 3 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. It was quiet, the rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and the kitchen had a full size stove with oven which I have only seen stove tops not ovens in suites so this was a plus. With your own kitchen, a continental breakfast is still served. The only downside is nothing to do with the hotel but in the construction there should have been 2 elevators, due to room location. If your room is at the far side of the parking lot and you are on 2nd floor, to get your luggage upstairs it is either haul it or take the luggage cart load up and go to the other side to get the elevator to go to 2nd floor and then reverse to return cart. Outside of that good hotel.
"Quiet and restful"

The was a quick overnight stop for us and the location was good. We wanted to get to the west side of St. Louis to avoid the morning rush hour traffic as we headed down I-44, so this was a convenient stop. The studio room was the typical floor plan for TownePlace Suites but we noticed this one had fewer supplies in the kitchen, e.g. only two dinner plates, two forks, etc. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We did not use the outdoor pool nor the gym, but we did use the free wifi and had breakfast in the breakfast room. The offerings are not as extensive as at a Residence Inn or Springhill Suites, but you can fill up on the basics. The downside was that the computer in the lobby could not read my USB drive so I was not able to print the documents that I needed. There was a printer next to the computer, and it had a scanner, but we were not able to scan anything either. Overall it is a nice place to get a good night's sleep and get a free breakfast so that we can get back on the road again.
"Nice and quiet"

This was a nice place to stay with great amenities, like free wi-fi, continental breakfast, small store for snacks and soda, kitchen with a fridge, stove and microwave. I was in the second floor and it was quiet and easy access to the parking lot and an elevator if needed. Staff was nice and the rooms were clean
"Is always great!"

This trip we needed two beds and they recommended the two bedroom suite. Wow! It was spacious, well thought out and perfect for even more people than we had. I really appreciated the front desk's recommendation since I would have ended up on the sofa bed otherwise. But my favorite thing was how quiet it was. You would think we were alone in the building but with a full parking lot, I know that was not the case. I heard sounds from another person just once and that was not at night. They've added a breakfast room since I was last there and it was very nice. Well stocked, plenty of selections for most any taste and once again, laid out well. I travel a lot and this hotel is just one of my favorites. And a great bed!!!
"A gem in the middle of an industrial park"

My husband and I travel for a living. We spend over 200 nights a year in hotels and 90 percent of that at a Marriott property. When we got here, we were surprised by the location, tucked back behind a Fairfield Inn by Marriott, in an industrial park. We like Towne Place Suites because it's like a small apartment. Everything we need is right there. Once inside, we were greeted warmly, treated as if we were family and found everything to be in working order. In the morning, our paper was delivered to our door, something even the five star Marriott's don't do! The breakfast is extensive with boiled eggs, oatmeal, fruit, pastries and waffle machine. The staff is very responsive to the needs of the guest and I will stay here as often as possible. I am impressed with the way this hotel is kept up and the hospitality of the staff. Kudos to the managers for finding and keeping good people.
"It was okay, but I didn't sleep"
04/17/14 Liz H Illinois
This is a budget hotel for sure. It was clean and does include a full kitchen in every room. I was staying with my mother so I asked if I could get a room with two double beds. They apparently only have pull out sofas, which is where I ended up sleeping. It was like sleeping on a cardboard box with springs under it. To add to that, there was a party in the room above us until 3am. I am not a light sleeper but the walls in this hotel are so thin that I could hear the partiers and even make out some of what the loudest person was saying. If you want a good nights sleep, pick a different hotel.
